Shane Sams
Hi, we're Shane & Jocelyn Sams. Are you looking for something different? You've found it! Welcome to The Flipped Lifestyle Podcast! We are a real family who makes our entire living online, and we help other people do the same! Flip Your Life with online business! We built a million dollar online business selling digital products and starting membership sites over the internet (people pay us to email them stuff...seriously). Our Internet business changed our family's future, and it could change your family's too! Imagine making hundreds of extra dollars each month. Would that change your life? Could you use that extra money to pay your mortgage, get out of debt, give your kids a better Christmas, or even take that vacation you've been putting off? You can, and it’s probably easier than you think. We are a real family from Kentucky that makes a living entirely through internet marketing. This podcast is about how we make money online through Internet business, and how it lets us live a lifestyle other people can hardly imagine. Our goal is to help other families create, market, and sell digital products on the internet. Selling digital products helped us earn more money, have breathing room in our budget, and eventually quit our regular jobs. We've seen the power of online business first hand, now we want to help you see it too! If you would like to learn more about selling stuff online, check us out online at FlippedLifestyle.com or learn how you can do what we do at FlippedLifestyle.com/FlipYourLife

Getting this business - an online food subscription business - up and running has required a LOT from the perspective of certifications, inspections, insurance, contracts, you name it. Plus the usual marketing and back-end technical stuff. I'm happy with where I'm at and have such a clear picture for what's next.  I'm most excited to start get amp-up with creating content and MARKETING more heavily! Thanks to everyone here and S&J for the content. Shane said something in one of the master classes about "do AAA, BBB, CCC; not ABC, ABC, ABC" and that has been what I've aligned to over the last month and it's really paid off. I was spreading myself to thin to really make headway and now I'm in a great position to make this business pay off." Stephanie, we are proud of you! FL 224 – We teach Allison find her perfect customer

In today's episode, we help our Flip Your Life member Allison Lopez. Allison has a career in education as a teacher, and an instructional tech coach as well. She also has experience working in IT consulting before. She had transitioned from one career into a teaching career because that is where her real passion lies. Having this experience, Allison wants to help other people make a career transition into teaching based on her knowledge and experience of the process. This is why she created her website, seconcareerteachers.com. She is currently dealing with some challenges to move her online business forward like time management, mindset issues, and specifically finding the right audience for her niche. Join us in this episode as we help Allison with strategic ways to find her perfect avatar by putting herself in their shoes to find out what they are looking for and where they hang out. [Tweet "If you've done it, and someone else hasn't done it, you are an expert and you can help them"] [Tweet "If you're finding excuses about something, then it's really not that important to you."] You Will Learn How to effectively find your audience in places where they hang out How to use strategic keyword research to find what your avatar is looking for How to find time to work on your online business How important your "WHY" is to help you focus on moving forward in your online business The importance of dealing with mindset issues first before anything else Links and resources mentioned on today’s show: Allison's website Flip Your Life community 30-day trial Success Story of the Week: Today's success story is from Melissa. Melissa says, "I would never talk to someone the way I talk to myself. Over the past two weeks, I've been busy with my family and many fun end of the year activities. Late at night I'd crawl into bed with heavy eyelids and a battered spirit. I tried, but I just couldn't get it all done for my website. There weren't enough hours of the day, and I got really down on myself. I found myself talk being some of the most discouraging conversations I've ever heard, and it was all in my own head. Never, not ever would I speak such defeating statements to a fellow entrepreneur. I recall hearing Shane and Jocelyn speak of this and suddenly I knew, truly knew what they had meant. I can see where a person might want to throw in the towel, but sometimes life is just that busy. Step 1 - sometimes life is just going to get in the way Step 2 - forgive those moments of self sabotage. Instead, i engaged in my family time festivities and thoroughly enjoyed those can't miss moments. Yay for me! Now Step 3 - back to work." Melissa, we are so proud of you! This mindset shift is so important for anyone who is starting a business. You can't let negative talk get in your way, and I'm so proud of you for recognizing it and changing that pattern. We would love to help you write the success story for your online business. At the end of today’s show, head over to flippedlifestyle.com/flipyourlife where you can learn more about building and growing a successful online business with the help of our Flip Your Life community. Can’t Miss Moment: Today's Can't Miss Moment is a final trip to Toys R Us. Most of you know that Toys R Us is in the process of closing all of their stores. Shane had the opportunity to take the kids to Toys R Us one last time because who wants to miss Toys R Us closing? The kids got to buy one final toy, and that was a good time.   Enjoy the podcast; we hope it inspires you to explore what’s possible for your family! FL 221 – Sales Funnels + Sales Pages + Sales Chain

Hey Y’all, welcome to another Flipped Lifestyle Podcast Q&A w/ S&J! In the Flip Your Life Community, we hold a members-only Q&A twice a month where we answer online business questions of our members live on air! This podcast episode features some of the highlights of these recent live member Q&As to give you a glimpse of how we help the members of our community, and help you as well in online business by listening in. Today’s Q&A highlights answer the following questions:  From Eva: "There are some loose screws with my sales funnel and I’m hoping you could pinpoint what might need improving. I’m feeling very stuck with my membership and not sure how to move forward and grow it further. My site has tons of opt-in opportunities offering freebies. I have an active Facebook and Instagram group with lots of followers. I have an email list of over 1,700 subscribers. I have an automated email nurturing sequence for any new subscriber. I’ve been emailing my list every 2-3 days and often posting the email copy on my social media platforms, each of those emails and posts has a pitch about my membership somewhere. I started doing keyword research to properly name and describe my YouTube videos and blog articles. I do a Facebook Live every Friday, answering one mom’s question posted in the FB group- I always promote my membership on the FB live as well. I then upload the video to YouTube, create a blog post out of it with freebie opt-ins and send it to my email list and social media following. I’ve been doing monthly webinars on Facebook Live, promoting a $1 trial for 5 days of my membership, where I get anywhere from 5-15 people opt-in for the trial, and half of those people usually stick around for at least a month. The vast majority of my members come from the $1 trials. Almost every time I post in my members-only Facebook community, I remind them about the quarterly and annual membership options. So as you can see, I’m really doing a lot here but can’t seem to figure out where the funnel is breaking down! Please help. From Janet: "Question about sales pages. How long does it need to be? I've seen many that have tons of copy, testimonials, etc. It a super long sales page more effective than a shorter one?" FL 220 – How to start living a life of purpose with your online business

Have you ever thought, “There’s gotta be more to life than this.” There’s gotta be more to life than just working and getting that next paycheck. There’s gotta be more to life than just grinding your days away for the benefit of someone else. There’s gotta be more to life than just sticking through and doing all of these mundane routines. If you have, then you are correct. There really is more to life than just that. We believe that EVERYONE HAS A CALLING, a purpose, and we want you to believe in your purpose too! YOU can change your fate. YOU decide what to do. Open yourself up to all the amazing possibilities because without knowing and understanding these possibilities, you can’t act on them. When you do not act, you stay stuck where you are, always wondering what “more” feels like. Find the courage to put yourself out there, follow that tug towards your life’s purpose, towards something amazing -- something only YOU can do BECAUSE you are your own person, and no one else can ever be YOU. Whether it be to create, to fix, to teach, to lead, or to listen… We are ALL here to make a difference in the world, and that won’t happen unless you break free from your hesitations, the doubts, and the fears. To help you find the inspiration to take your next step is an amazing woman who has gone through and has overcome so many struggles in order to pursue and act on her possibilities. Joining us today is Flip Your Life community member, Wendy Zanders. From an outsider’s perspective, this highly driven, bubbly and resilient individual, is living what most people would call "a good life". But after an unexpected loss in the family, she fell into a deep depression and all of a sudden everything became a blur. It took a while for her to recognize the symptoms, but she knew something was off. She knew she needed help, so she sought it. The healing process wasn’t easy, the battle felt long and hard, but she did it. Nothing is going to hold her down, nothing will dim her light. Wendy wanted to get her life back on track, she made a choice to do everything to make that happen. Things started to fall into place, she learned so many things, and she eventually found her calling as a Professional Home Organizer, and this was how FunctionalOrganizingwithWendy.com was born. FL 217 – Offer + Pricing + Internal & External Marketing (Q&A w/ S+J)

FL 217 – Offer + Pricing + Internal & External Marketing (Q&A w/ S+J)

Hey Y’all, welcome to another Flipped Lifestyle Podcast Q&A w/ S&J! In the Flip Your Life Community, we hold a members-only Q&A twice a month where we answer online business questions of our members live on air! This podcast episode features some of the highlights of these recent live member Q&As to give you a glimpse of how we help the members of our community, and help you as well in online business by listening in. Today’s Q&A highlights answer the following questions:  My product is priced way higher than my competitors' ($39/month, $300/year), but as a result I'm not getting sales. I ran a massive discount for this week only to match my competitors' prices ($9/m, $99/y) and am happy I got a bit more sales (7 monthly, 7 yearly sales at it's almost the end of discount week), but going forward plan to continue selling at my high price, but with the $1 dollar trial for 2 weeks. What can I do to convince people that my membership has value compared to my competitors'? It's terrible not getting sales for weeks at a time because of the high price, and significant number of people have dropped out after the 2 week trial because of financial reasons. And because my niche is on a volunteer basis, people do cancel their memberships because of reasons like "lack of time" when they stop serving in church for the season. - Sandra I have a question about retaining my monthly members and upgrading them to a quarterly or annual membership. As of now, I've managed to upsell a handful of my members to an annual membership, but for the most part, most members leave after 1-2 months when their baby or toddler is sleeping beautifully thanks to my program! I've been trying to communicate the message that babies are always going through transitions, milestones and regressions- and therefore, you should upgrade your membership so that you know what to do during every single change and keep your little one's sleep in tact. However, for the most part, the message falls on deaf ears. I really tried to increase the amount of times I repeated this message. It just seems to be a really tough message to get across. One idea I had was to send out a monthly newsletter summarizing what they can expect of their baby at that age in the sleep department, and what potential issues they can potentially expect down the road (hint hint- don't cancel!) Any other concrete advice or ideas? - Eva You can also watch this episode on our YouTube channel: FL 217 - Offer + Pricing + Internal & External Marketing (Q&A w/ S+J) CLICK HERE to get your FREE 30-DAY Membership in the Flip Your Life Community NOW! FL 216 – How to make big sales even if you have a small email list

FL 216 – How to make big sales even if you have a small email list

Are you lacking the confidence to make sales because your email list is small? Maybe you’re contemplating if people would even pay for your digital product? Put yourself in the shoes of the customer for a second and ask yourself: When you purchase something online, do you know what you’re really paying for? “Well, I bought this because I need to do this… or that…” Is that really the ONLY reason behind the purchase? Sometimes people confuse the real selling point of a digital product as just the product itself. Yes, they need your product to do this and that, but your digital product delivers something more than what that product description is saying… A product allows your customer to gain: The time to do the things they want. Convenience or ease of use. Confidence and support. Peace of mind and leadership. Your product or what you’re creating / what you’re about to create, is a part of a greater purpose, which is why you should step up and share this with others who need it to improve their quality of life. Your email list, no matter how small, have people who believe in you and the results your product will deliver. They look to you for guidance, so be confident with your role as the leader because YOU do have what it takes and YOU can help so many by leading them towards their next step. And this is why you can still make big sales even if you have a small email list! So, join us this week as we help FYL community moderator, Brad May, get his acoustic guitar business to the next level! Flip Your Life. [Tweet "So many times, we get so scared to do something, and when we finally do it we're like, "Oh, well, that wasn't so bad!" - Jocelyn"] [Tweet "You don't sell them what you teach, it's something bigger than that, what you're selling are results! - Shane"] [Tweet "Looking around, trying to do what everyone else is doing can get you in trouble sometimes. - Jocelyn"] You Will Learn: Why your digital product is more than just a product How to find the time to consistently work on your business How to stay on the same page with your spouse The advantages of focusing on one priority at a time   Plus so much more! [Tweet "Focus on the 3 places you can make a difference so that you can build your business. - Shane"] [Tweet "You have to decide what's the best approach for YOU. - Jocelyn"] [Tweet "If you don't want to take a big risk, then take a few small ones until they add up to something huge. - Shane"] Links and resources mentioned on today's show: Brad's website UseLoom  Bonjoro FYL Community: 30-Day Free Trial  Success Story of the Week: Today's Can't Miss Moment is from Brad, and Brad sold his e-book while he was asleep.   His message says, "This morning I woke up to a sale.  I've been pressed for time lately to work on my online business, but I was inspired by Shane on one of the member calls to email my list more.  So I did. I also published a blog post last night. I've been trying to force myself to take action, like putting my first e-book up for sale even though I'm not finished with it yet.  Now that I've sold it, that will motivate me, even more, to get it done. Also, I only have 13 people on my list. It feels good to see things progressing. Thanks to the Flip Your Life community and S&J for all you have done to help me make progress." You are so welcome, Brad!  We're so happy to have you, and what Brad is talking about is that we have a bi-monthly member call every month, where we get on live and he answer your questions about online business.  It's for members only. We do it twice every month and we gave him some advice. He took action on it and he made sales. So what are you waiting for, y'all? Jump in our community! In the Flip Your Life Community, we hold a members-only Q&A twice a month where we answer online business questions of our members live on air! This podcast episode features some of the highlights of these recent live member Q&As to give you a glimpse of how we help the members of our community, and help you as well in online business by listening in. Today’s Q&A highlights answer the following questions:  I would love your thoughts on the optimal content plan for starting out. - Jennifer Do you have a course or can guide me to learn how to make a cover template/thumbnail for my YouTube videos (like you have)? And if there is something else I should be doing that can be automated each time I upload my daily videos? I have already been using the free version of Tube Buddy. - Cynthia I need to make videos -- both lectures & labs -- where? Thinking about putting up a whiteboard in my very cluttered office and just showing me and the whiteboard. Thoughts? - Monte I am actually encouraging my 13 year old to start a YouTube channel, any tips on how to name a channel and how to title the video? This will help me too. - Maribel I am reactivating a site that has not been updated in a few years, and am ready to get it up and going... I stopped right before really doing any promotion. What would you recommend using to deliver my content (video courses)? I was using Zippy Courses Plugin, but that no longer is being updated, so I need to change those video's over. And I have a free video course for my lead magnet as well... would you do that as an email course? Or use some kind of course platform? - Stephanie My plan is to do 2 month-long series over the summer on 2 things specific to my niche. I’m wondering, how do you feel about series of episodes dedicated to one subject? In this case July will be about “how to handle weeknight chaos with little kids“ and August I’m doing a month long Back-to-School Boot Camp. July is typically a pretty slow month in my niche, I thought the weeknight chaos thing would be interesting for them, but I am wondering if 4-5 shows on one subject is too many shows? - Karen You can also watch this episode on our YouTube channel: FL 213 - Content + YouTube + Holidays! FL 212 – How to turn a critic into a customer

FL 212 – How to turn a critic into a customer

Our guest this week is someone who wants to help new and aspiring composers succeed in the video game industry, the man behind Video Game Music Academy, Daniel Hulsman. Daniel is a 33-year-old father of 2, living in Boston with a huge passion for music. He received his Music Education degree from the University of Delaware, but due to the economic crash, (Hint: Most art-focused people's careers suffered) he had to shift careers and find a job that can support his family. He had worked for several corporations that allowed him to learn more about marketing and management, which he has found useful when he started building his own website: VGMacademy.com Daniel currently serves a public charter school as a Music Teacher for the past 4 years, all while managing a choir that records professional video game soundtracks twice a year. (Recording professional video game soundtracks? Oh, you mean, THE COOLEST JOB EVER?!) Ultimately, his goal is to create a stable, recurring stream of income online so that he can focus on his family, especially since his children are both still very young. But here's the thing, his website isn't gaining as much traction, and sales are mostly from selling semi-related products -- y'all know how frustrating that can be, right? So what does he do? Daniel sends us some hater-ade, a long email detailing his doubts, frustrations and surprisingly his hope that maybe - just maybe - we could help him become a successful online entrepreneur too! We can tell a troll from a critic, and this man was no troll, he really wanted something better for his family's future. How would you respond to someone with this sentiment? Well, look no further because this week's episode is all about how YOU can turn a critic into a customer, why you are not for everyone and why that's okay, and how to dispel that voice saying you are not expert enough. This podcast interview is PUMPED y'all! FL 209 – Launching + Ebooks + Webinars (Q&A w S&J)

Today’s Q&A highlights answer the following questions:  Should I pre-sell a membership before membership area is ready/setup with "special pricing"? Or just launch and say that things are being added daily? (It is a teacher/education niche) - Janet I've gotten a bit behind in promotion of my Launch - Online Training Workshop - promotion. It's scheduled for 6/24, I was planning on doing the 2weeks of promo email, Facebook ads and Google ads. I'm concerned about delaying the launch versus giving enough time for promotion. What do you think would be best? - Jennifer I've written about 75% of my book. I'm going to self-publish. What would a realistic timeline be to complete a book, tweak it and get it ready, and get it out to the public? Is January 2019 a good deadline to get it on Amazon and being sold? - Rebecca Can you talk about how I should think about YouTube for: YouTube Lives, my Launch Webinar (embedded into a LeadPage), monthly Member Calls. Do I used the same channel profile for all of those? For YouTube Lives, do I use a "reusable stream key" link, so I can use the same one each time? Do you use an encoder? - Jennifer Shane, you mentioned Dan Kennedy's quote that it's easier to find new audience than to write a new speech when it comes to doing weekly webinars. How does it work if we want to do weekly webinars on the same topic on YouTube Live though? Say you guys do "How to start an Internet Business" webinar every week. It'll be the same content every week! I know the value is in the interaction and Q&A, but why would people still bother to sign up for the next run of the same-titled webinar if they could just watch the replay and learn the contents? Wouldn't this be a case where it might be necessary to "write a new speech"? Also, there's 1 thing I don't get. I do YouTube Lives for my webinar. I'll announce when my webinar will be (say, coming Monday 9am) but anyone could watch the webinar without needing to opt in, since it will be available for anyone's viewing (since they could just click that "Live" video from my YouTube page). I know I want the emails, but I don't get why anyone would want to opt in if they could just join us as a general YouTube subscriber? - Sandra I paused all my auto-webinars during my spring membership drive. I need to re-start them, but I'm not happy with my current auto (Recorded) webinar software, EverWebinar. I recently left WebinarJam, and I'd like to leave EverWebinar, too. Any suggestions for which software to switch to? Is anybody else using anything that seems to work smoothly for doing automated, recorded webinars? - Rebecca You can also watch this episode on our YouTube channel: FL 209 - Launching + Ebooks + Webinars (Q&A w S&J) Get your FREE 30-DAY Membership in the Flip Your Life Community NOW! – https://flippedlifestyle.com/free You can connect with S&J on social media too!   Thanks again for listening to the show! "We've been talking about video for a while now, but we struggle with equipment and other issues like fear of the camera, etc.  We finally invested in some better equipment and made a video of one of the recipes in our newest cookbook. After overcoming some tech issues, we dove in and made a great video.  I quickly picked up editing skills, and cut it mostly together the same day. We still have a couple of things to add. We're really happy with what we did. The best part though was involving our 16-year-old in the process.  I named him assistant director, and really took some time to explain the equipment and our process.  I put together a quick shot list, was turned out to be super helpful, and our son was able to help us move from one thing to the next.   Overall, it didn't take nearly as long as I thought it would, and we conquered some of our fears in the process.  We loved how our son took to it, and feel we gained miles of progress with just this one video. We can now see how this will work in our business and we're supercharged to make 100 more." FL 207 – Being an Introvert and an Entrepreneur

You're not broken because you're an introvert... ...a lot of successful people are introverts, we're just a little bit quieter about it." In today's episode, Jocelyn talks about some of the challenges of being an introvert and an entrepreneur and how to overcome them. Flip Your Life Community member Trista sent in this question: I'm very interested to hear strategies for overcoming my introversion. I'm a teacher, and that trade has been one of my toughest challenges to overcome. At the end of the day, between interacting with hundreds of teens and standing before an audience, I've always felt so exhausted and stressed. This 10th year I opted to teaching virtually, and now I'm even more out of practice from speaking publicly." Jocelyn provides some great insight on this question, as well as debunking some myths about introversion like: All introverts are shy Introverts don't like people Introverts can't be front and center in an online business Jocelyn also talks about the importance of personality tests, and mentions a free online personality test called Personality Max that she took, where she openly shares her test results that you can check out here: Jocelyn's Personality Max™ Report Join us today to have a better understanding of introversion -- the myths, the truths, the nature of an introvert -- and how introverts can be successful entrepreneurs as well. Grill the hotdogs!" - Shane This is an actual online business advice for one of today's featured questions. Listen in and find out why it's important. Today’s Q&A highlights answer the following questions:  "I wanted to ask your opinion about my lead magnets. I came up with three lead magnets and plan to choose one from the list below and record the training video or write an ebook. Which one do you like better? I feel option 1 and 2 provide a lot of value even for a paid content.1. Questions to ask during the first three dates to see if you could be a good match to find your dream husband in short time. 2. Ice breakers and questions to ask during the first date to find your dream husband in short time. 3. Tips on clearing your mind and lifting your spirit to find your dream husband in short time. - Svetlana "I have a question about my lead magnet and opt-in sequence. Currently, the lead magnet is a set of 6 short science videos about one topic, which would be equivalent to one lesson plan. I’m wondering if six videos is too much information for them to process in the first email. Should I give them just the first video as the lead magnet, and then divide the rest into two follow-up emails? Also, for the WOW bonus, they’re getting 4 sets of video lessons (4 topics; each has 6 short videos). Should I give away this much? Or change it to one set of video lessons about one topic (which would be 6 short videos)?" -  Jennifer "Please help me figure out how to start! I really want to teach parents how to use audio books and read alouds to make parenting easier and why how books trump technology. I want to teach them how using the right books can help make parenting easier because of bonding, character building, and getting to tackle important issues with their child through fiction. Is this even a good idea? I am struggling with the pain point and if people are searching for a solution. I am thinking the symptoms are disconnection, feeling too busy, feeling like you are failing as a parent, using screens to keep kids busy, etc. Can you help me get see a direction to go with this?" - Danae "My question today is about free Facebook content and lead magnets. I do understand the aspirin and vitamin analogy but I'm still struggling with what to giveaway in social media, and lead magnets, what to give away in e-mail and what to hold for paying customers only for my particular industry. I get more diet related questions from people than anything, yet the workouts/personal training are what I consider the core of my memberships." - Carla You can also watch this episode on our YouTube channel: FL 205 Lead Magents + Opt ins + Hotdogs? FL 202 – True Job Security + Dealing with NO SHOWS

FL 202 – True Job Security + Dealing with NO SHOWS

Your job is NOT safe. Do you ever think “What would I do if I lost my job?” You should. You could lose it at any time. Let me explain why, and show you a better, safer way to earn a living. Most people think that you just need to get a good job, and you can live happily ever after. It is super risky to get employed by just one person and have everything on the palm of their hands, you don’t have real control of your life.   Work for yourself Give yourself the power to succeed or fail. The only people we could count on are ourselves. True security and safety starts with learning how to do this with the right knowledge, support, and tools. We have a great advantage living in this age because we have the Internet. There will always be people who want to give you money online, out of the 4 billion people with access to the internet. We can help you do that. Have you experienced someone not showing up for a scheduled appointment? As an online entrepreneur, your time might be very limited and valuable, but the reality is things are not always going to work out as you want them to. In this video, Shane shares an important mindset and attitude to have when someone pulls off a NO SHOW on you.  SHOW GRACE Have grace and empathy, everybody’s time is finite and valuable Sooner or later it could happen to you Don’t think that your time is much more valuable than anyone else’s time REDEMPTION Always offer people a chance of redemption We all make mistakes You’re going to need a second chance too someday “Do unto others what you want them to do to you” MOVE ON QUICKLY Have a “Rain Plan” – always plan what to do in case the person does not show up and your appointment does not push through Don’t wait around Do something productive instead Don’t let other people disrupt you Don’t let circumstances ruin your whole day HAVE PERSPECTIVE Don’t be driven by ego Respect other people’s situations You can also watch this episode on our YouTube channel: FL 202 - Your Job is Not Safe + Dealing with NO SHOWS Thanks again for listening to the show! We’re a real family who figured out how to make our entire living online.  And now, we help other families do the same. Are you ready to flip your life?  Alright. Let’s get started. Shane: What's going, everybody?  Welcome back to the Flipped Lifestyle podcast.  It is great as always to be with you again this week, and we are so happy to be celebrating our 200th episode.  That's right! This is episode 200 of the Flipped Lifestyle podcast with Shane and Jocelyn, and by far, this is the biggest, most audacious, craziest thing we've ever done on the show.   Jocelyn: And that's saying something because we've done some really weird stuff over the past six years.    Shane: We've done some weird and crazy things, and we are confident that this is going to be one of the biggest and awesomest things we've ever done.  We have three huge announcements that are not only going to change everything that we're doing professionally in our business life, but they are going to change everything for you and your family, too.   Jocelyn:  Some of you may be wondering why on earth we titled the 200th episode, "Goodbye.”  Are we stopping the podcast? No, we're not stopping the podcast, but we are saying goodbye to some other things in our life, in our business.   Shane: So don't worry, we're sticking around.  We're going to keep coming to you every single week and helping you flip your life with online business.  And just like we're sticking around, we want you to stick around for this entire episode. You're going to want to listen to every single minute because as we say goodbye to the past, you may be saying hello to your future.  So sit back, relax, you may want to take some notes because this is going to be an awesome ride for the 200th episode of the Flipped Lifestyle podcast. Jocelyn: Alright, before we reveal what it is we're saying goodbye to, we're going to talk a little bit about our last 200 episodes.  It's been a wild ride! We started out as two people from Kentucky, just behind some microphones, and here we are 200 episodes later, which is pretty cool.   Shane: And it's always good, whenever you're making huge changes to your life or to your business, to kind of take a breath and sit back and look back at where you've been because that's always the foundation of where you're going.   So for those of you who may be new to the Flipped Lifestyle podcast, or maybe you've been listening for a while, but you weren't with us since the beginning, our story starts back in 2012 when we were school teachers.   Jocelyn: We were like many of you.  We went to work. We came home.  And for all intents and purposes, we were happy enough.   Shane: And then one day we found out our son, Isaac, was being mistreated at his daycare center and I asked for the day off to go deal with this situation.  My boss was extremely cruel to me, told me that I could handle it after work and basically said,

FL 199 – We help Oleg create his first online product

Have you ever just looked at your to-do list sometimes and say, "Alright, there are so many things to do, but my gut instinct is telling me that these 2 things are really important right now. So..."   Has this ever happened to you?   Life gets pretty crazy sometimes and you can find yourself juggling too many things, too fast, all at once, next thing you know you’re so overwhelmed and stuck right where you are! The good news is you have the option to do something about being stuck, and this is why you’ll find great insight and inspiration in today’s guest, Oleg Leontovych. Oleg is one of our International Flip Your Life members, and he’s here to ask his next level questions to flip his online business to the next level. A quick look into Oleg’s online business journey… Oleg is originally from Ukraine, but had moved to Canada and served the I.T. industry for 18 years where he focused on software quality assurance. He has changed employers in several industries, survived 3 layoffs, and eventually gotten so frustrated with the job itself due to the overwhelming fear that they can let him go despite his position.   He has been reading into online business, getting himself acquainted with things like passive income and learning how to start his own business since 2013, but lacked the motivation to pursue it any further. This all changed in September 2017, when he decided to go all-in on creating a stable, passive income online after getting laid off. Now, he calls the shots and has made up his mind to finally pursue something he is really passionate in: gardening and teaching others how to enjoy the literal fruits (and vegetables) of their labor! But something is still missing from his equation, and that’s where we step in. Join us as we help Oleg refocus and work on his first paid product to give him the momentum he needs to grow his online business! P.S. Stick around and tune in, don’t miss out on all the amazing tips we’ll share with this week’s guest! FL 198 – We help Julie reframe her avatar and create strategic content to grow her online business

Today’s guest is Flip Your Life community member, Julie Halitzka. Hailing from Louisville, Kentucky, Julie loves singing and plays a number of musical instruments. She has worked with youth in various roles as a worship leader, play & music teacher, and youth counselor for over 10 years. She decided to take her business online to change and improve their current financial circumstances. Julie created an early childhood music curriculum (for children ages 0-6) called Rockin’ Rhythms Music. After starting her website, she had the original intent of marketing this curriculum to teachers. This proved to be a bit of an adjustment from her job as a music teacher, where she is mainly marketing to parents. Not having a well-established email list yet, Julie struggles with the question what a lot of online entrepreneurs have with their digital product -- “Will people buy this?” -- and the fear of not finding the right people to sell to. Join us today as we help Julie reframe her avatar, grow and build her email list. We also help her with improving content strategies for better efficiency, prioritizing and time management when “life gets in the way”, as well as accountability. Success Story of the Week: Alright guys, we got a cool success story this week from a Flip Your Life community member named Elle, and Elle posted in our success for them this week and said, "I finished my course." Her actual post title says, "Champagne Moment." Elle says, "It's so great to log in and see so many of you doing well."  She's talking about our Success Forum. "Typically when I'm working on a major project, I go into hiding.  Well, I'm out of the cave, and I wanted to share my champagne moment with you. For the past six months, I had been planning, creating and building my membership site.  Today, I finished the course that is a huge selling point in my membership site. The course consists of five modules with three to five lessons in each module. What a relief and an accomplishment.  Along with a major course, I filmed videos for a video library, created and designed worksheets, and I've recruited four influencers to be interviewed as guests on a recorded Q&A for members. My launch date is coming up soon.  I have 20 people signed up for Beta memberships at a discounted rate." Elle's website: http://www.thenurseconsultantnetwork.com Man, that is an awesome success story that not only has she pre-sold and got all these members and Beta people signed up, but she's done with her course.  That's a huge load off your back when you create something that's evergreen that you can sell for years.

FL 197 – We help Regina brainstorm ideas, strategies and lead magnets for her online business

FL 197 – We help Regina brainstorm ideas, strategies and lead magnets for her online business

“How do you encourage young children to have the entrepreneurial mindset?” Well… you can get them a cool book about starting a business! Sounds like a good plan, only this genre doesn’t really sound very appealing to kids. Oh! How about sending them to one of those fancy, super rare business schools? Yeah, this would work EXCEPT your state probably doesn’t have one OR it’s too far and too expensive to send your child / children there. So, what’s a parent to do to get their children interested in flipping their life in an amazing and non-traditional way?! 2 words... BY EXAMPLE. Think about it! Children, by default, look up to their parents and want to do what they’re doing. “But why? Being an adult is boring and monotonous.” This is where it gets awesome, y’all! Kids are absolutely fascinated by everything we do. They think we’re this super high leveled person who CAN DO ANYTHING -- AND THEY’RE RIGHT. So show the budding entrepreneur in your life that you are a dedicated action taker. Because the fastest and easiest way to encourage your kid-entrepreneur to take that next step toward pursuing their online business dreams (or achieving anything in life for that matter) is for them to see YOU TAKE CONSISTENT ACTION. Put yourself out there. Be passionate and compassionate! Do better than you did the first time, every single time. Have faith and take courage to act on your goals and dreams. When YOU show your kids what TAKING PERSISTENT ACTION does, they’ll be less afraid to take action themselves. So, help them find what they’re good at, hold their hand and take the journey with them, it will be a good bonding experience for both parent and child (or children). Online business is for everyone. Online business isn’t just for adults, kids can be just as successful online too! Which brings us to our guest this week and what she is hoping to build with her triplets. We have strong-willed, widowed single mom of 11-year-old triplet girls, with over 20 years of accounting experience, Regina Drury. Regina has 2 bachelors degrees, one in business management and another in accounting, and also an MBA. Her husband passed away when the girls were just 3 years old, and for most of the girls’ younger years, she had to overcome so many struggles personally and financially as a single parent. The triplets are almost teenagers now and Regina is determined to build a sustainable income online so she can be more present in her children's’ lives, especially since they are in their formative years. Now, Regina isn’t new to the online business scene, she has tried several times to generate income online. First, she had the Biz Geek Podcast that geared towards finding other geeks in the business space and create a place where they could chat about business and their geek passions while being this community. Awesome as it is, it, unfortunately, did not generate her income. Then she briefly did a podcast for parents of multiples and had hopes of starting something with that, but that didn’t gain much traction either. Though she does have much experience in accounting, it isn’t something she is very passionate about, but was more of a necessity through the years. After one of her girls got diagnosed with thyroid cancer, there’s now an even greater urgency to be physically there for her triplets. But don’t worry! The apple… err… the apples didn’t fall far from the tree! The kids are as passionate and tenacious as their mother, in that they, too, want to start their own online business together. So, join us in this week’s episode as we help Regina find her momentum and help her girls start, build and grow their online business as a family. If you have a kid (or kids) that you want to encourage to become an entrepreneur… or if you ARE wanting to be an entrepreneur yourself, then don’t miss this great podcast interview!

FL 195 – We help Amanda & Joe overcome mindset hurdles and get back their momentum back to grow their online business

Do you have something that you’re passionate about and want to build an online business on, but fear you might not know enough to actually do it? Maybe you feel that you’re just not credible enough for people to pay you for what you have to offer online? A lot of online entrepreneurs feel this -- it’s called, “Imposter Syndrome.” It’s exactly what you might be struggling with if you answered “yes” to our questions above. Even after validating your idea and digital product, even after making sales and gaining customers, this is a problem that holds many online entrepreneurs back from growing their online business. We will tackle this mindset issue in this week’s episode, as well as share the amazing success our guests have achieved in their online business within a short span of time despite their mindset hurdles. Our guests in this episode are couple-preneur, Amanda and Joe Nibley. Living just outside of Atlanta, they are parents to two young children and are both working in the insurance industry (yes, they have their day jobs, two children, AND an online business!). Amanda has always had a passion for health and fitness, and because of that, they achieved a profound change in their overall health and lifestyle by changing their relationship with food. After helping family and friends get in tune with healthier eating habits, they realized that they've found their calling and their passion to help others grew bigger and bigger. And this is how they're online entrepreneurial journey began. It was this passion that gave birth to their online health and nutrition business! Now, Amanda and Joe had transitioned into a membership site after doing some successful challenges for their niche, and earned over $3,000 on their membership launch! Their membership site helps people cook and prepare healthy meals, learn more about clean eating, and living a healthy lifestyle. They have helped their members tremendously, and Amanda even got a certification in functional nutrition just recently! But even with their recent success, Amanda still talks about her mindset struggle and confidence issues regarding her expertise and passion. Join us as we help Amanda and Joe tackle these mindset hurdles to take their online business to the next level. We also share strategies for consistent content creation, as well as creating strategic result-oriented lead magnets. So don’t miss it! FL 194 – We help Kevin find more organic traffic and find the right people to join his membership

Isn’t it frustrating how we tend to be hypercritical about ourselves to the point that we sometimes end up walking away from those rare, life-changing opportunities? Think about it. WHY are we inclined to be more supportive, if not tolerant, of other’s quirks than we are of ourselves? “But it’s true, I’m not good enough at…” Pause. Hold it right there, buddy! Just because you’re not the best at everything, doesn’t mean you’re not good at something. The first step to unlocking your potential is to acknowledge that YOU HAVE POTENTIAL! You don't have to stay stuck there, being a peg in the machine, because YOU are more than capable of overcoming ANY obstacle. You just gotta take initiative and put yourself out there because nothing worthwhile comes to us without putting in the necessary time and effort. But don't fret, there's a way to make this journey a whole LOT easier! "What do I need to do?" BE KIND TO YOURSELF. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF. BE YOURSELF! "I'm not exactly sure how I can do that." Okay, how about we try this little exercise? Remember this every time that voice starts bringing you down: “It might take me longer to achieve the results I need, it might not even be as perfect as I've pictured it to be, but I am not alone and there's help where it is needed. As long as I keep putting one foot in front of the other and do what it takes to flip my life, I’ll eventually find the road to success.” Or do what Jocelyn does! She stuck purple Post-it notes on her computer to remind her that SHE CAN DO IT. If you still don’t believe the power of TAKING ACTION and how it leads to success, then you really need to check out this week's guest! We have none other than, Flip Your Life Community Moderator and the man behind RelaxandLearnGuitar.com, Kevin Depew. Kevin has been a long time FYL member, who was promoted to a leadership role in the community forums, but he didn’t start his journey knowing everything he needed to take his next steps. In fact, as with any budding online entrepreneur, Kevin had his share of struggles too! From identifying what he was good at, to who the target audience is, to what’s he going to sell and how he’s going to sell his solution -- he had to keep going, he had to endure the hardships and evolve to find and figure out his true calling online. After months and months of learning, trying and moving forward, he finally tasted some hard-earned success in his "second-halfer," guitarist-based online community -- Kevin now has 29 paying members!!! Now, you know what we say here at Flipped Lifestyle, “If you found one, you’ll find a hundred.. (a thousand, even).” So, how will he find the right people to join and grow his membership? Get ready for our action-packed, next level strategies that will help Kevin find more organic traffic and overcome the fear of not finding the right people to join his membership. We’re talking about member engagement, live events, tools and goal-focused mindset shifts that are going to get your momentum to full swing. Don’t miss it! FL 193 – We help Dan apply strategic direction on creating and selling his digital product

Getting started with your online business can be overwhelming for a number of reasons. Do you find yourself creating your content, but unable to finish because of endless revising and refining? Do things always get in the way of your time to work on your online business, even if you set a schedule for it? Of course, we want our digital products to be good, or perfect if possible… but how perfect is perfect enough to stop and do the next step? How long will that take? Scheduling time to work on your online business is to be expected, but why doesn't it always work? These are just some of the reasons we feel stuck in our online business, and it can be very frustrating.   Well, hold your horses, y’all, because in this week’s episode we will help our guest tackle and overcome these issues to help him start and grow his online business. We're sure you’ll learn a lot in our brainstorm and it's going to help you take your own online business to the next level too! Our guest today is Dan Franz. Dan is a general practitioner in Psychology and does mental health counseling. His wife is a teacher, and they have two children. Dan did a group practice for 5 to 6 years working with and supervising other therapists, but recently switched back to doing his own one-on-one practice after the technicalities of having a larger practice deemed quite taxing. Since the beginning of his mental health counseling, he started writing-related blogs to give him an online presence with the goal of leading people to his one-on-one practice. This got him to acquire a list of about 800 people from his online writing, how awesome is that?! And now, with his growing desire to help and reach more people, as well as have more time to spend with his family, Dan went on to take his business online (with an advantage of already having an existing following from his online presence). With the majority of his digital product outline already done, he struggles with its completion due to constant revising and refining. His work time for his online business also seems to get interrupted a lot, causing a delay in his progress. But hey! Everyone needs a little help to get back in the right direction and get to that next step... sometimes even counselors need guidance. :) So, join us as we help Dan overcome these setbacks -- dealing with the overwhelm, prioritization, having the right mindset -- as well as discussing strategies and direction on creating and selling his digital product. FL 192 – How to become LUCKY

FL 192 – How to become LUCKY

This week, we’re going to talk about being LUCKY and our take on the entire concept of LUCK.   You probably know this already, but we are not a huge fan of the word, “LUCK.” “Oh! Your business took off? You’re SOOO LUCKY!!!” “WOW! You must be so lucky to be able to buy a new car on a whim!” (buzzer sound) WRONG. Luck had very little to do with what we’ve achieved in life. To put it simply, we worked very hard to place ourselves in front of those rare opportunities. But we didn’t get to where we are now because our first attempt worked. People think that you need to succeed the first time you try when in reality, it will take you multiple attempts before you get enough experience to get to the next step. It’s the same with us, guys! We had to learn the ropes. We had to put in the time and money. We had to stay focused and do whatever it took to make it online, not just for our sake but for our family’s future. It’s funny how success is often perceived to rely on luck. Luck isn’t bad, y’all! But using it as an excuse to justify your inaction is. “Oh, I’m not lucky like they are, how can I possibly succeed?” See what we mean? So, if you’re looking around for ways on how to be lucky or how to increase your luck, you’re not going to make it far. Think about the “Law of Attraction.” The more you focus and take action on the things you want to happen, the more you attract opportunities and situations that will make you reach that goal. Anyone can succeed, it’s just not everyone is willing to do what needs to be done in order to succeed. So, tell us, how will you attract success if you’re not doing anything? We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again (and again and AGAIN)... ACTION BREEDS SUCCESS. Stop wasting your precious time searching for blog posts on HOW TO BE LUCKY IN LIFE! Don’t let the concept of luck hold you back from creating the life that you want your family to have. YOU are responsible for your success. Not luck. Not anyone else. JUST YOU! You might not know it or believe it, but you have as much potential to succeed as everyone else. So, work towards your goal, build and foster relationships, do whatever it takes to change your life. FL 191 – We help Teresa with engagement and retention strategies to grow her online membership

“I got this idea, but I don’t know if it will make me money.” Does that sound like a familiar statement? Have you ever come up with an online business idea, but thought “Nobody would ever pay for that!” Well, don’t dismiss your idea so quickly because the internet is an amazing thing. The internet changes everything and you could make thousands of dollars on almost anything you could think of selling if you just take action! Yes, you’ve heard of so many business coaches, life coaches, social media coaches, and similar types making money online… well, today we have something different, and you’re in for a treat! In our Flip Your Life community, we have a lot of different people with different niches, but this one is one of our favorites! Today’s guest is Teresa Perleberg. Her online business? How about “Shearing sheep and turning their wool into a statue!” Okay, that may be oversimplifying it, but it just gets better! Teresa lives on a North Dakota farm with her husband and 4 kids, 93 sheep, 50 cattle. Her husband had worked multiple jobs to provide for their family, she wanted to help out while still being able to stay homeschooling the kids. It turns out that her discovery of an amazing craft (that utilized her sheep wool) would be the solution to this. She does something really awesome called needle felting. You’ll have to listen in to hear Teresa explain what that is in detail, but we absolutely love it! She started selling her needle felted art on Etsy in 2008, then transitioned into making needle felting kits and selling them. And because her audience had shown so much interest in taking their needle felting to the next level by learning more techniques, Teresa had started a membership business on Needle Felting. Her online business has grown to have a stable income which was enough for her husband to quit his night shift job and have more time with the family! Now her husband and the kids all help out on her online business, working together as a family. That’s Flippin’ your life, y’all! Join us as we help Teresa on her membership retention strategies, audience engagement, overcoming technical problems, and growing her membership. FL 190 – We help Corey re-brand his auto detailing membership and gain traction

“What can I even do online? I don’t have any special skills, I’m a nobody.” Does this sound familiar? If you told us 5 years ago that we’d be making thousands of dollars online, we probably wouldn’t have believed you. Because when we started out, we didn’t know what we were exceptionally good at either! We didn’t know how to sell a product online. We didn’t even know if anyone would buy anything from us. We were just normal school teachers from Kentucky! How could we possibly create something no one else had already done? See, that’s the thing! Even though there’s already a seemingly endless river of content online, we took action and focused on what we can do. Ask yourself, “What can I create right now?” You don’t have to be the leading expert in something to start, build and grow your own online business. The way you present things will be slightly different from everyone else’s because YOU are unique and whatever you create will be a reflection of how you perceive the world. You don’t need to have the perfect idea to change the world because there’s nothing perfect online -- everything is open for improvement. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel, because it’s all about being resourceful! We’ve noticed that people won’t always have the resources to succeed, but whatever they lack in that department, they make up for by being resourceful. Resourcefulness is the ability to find quick and clever ways to overcome difficulties. It opens us to opportunities that wouldn’t have been available to us had we relied on just having all the necessary resources. It keeps us on our toes and allows us to think outside the box. As entrepreneurs, you will find this skill to be particularly useful since most complex problems often require such “outside the box” thinking. Speaking of “outside the box,” our guest this week is someone who took initiative and was resourceful enough to find success in his auto detailing business. We have Corey Doohan on the show and this is his story… Corey Doohan was born and raised on a dairy farm in Wisconsin. He received a scholarship to go to Oklahoma, where he met his wife and got a degree in business. But y’all know the struggle that comes to every graduate. “What on earth am I going to do next?” Corey didn’t know what he was going to do to earn a living post-graduation but soon realized that he might as well start somewhere. “What could he do?” Well, he knew how to detail cars! And that’s exactly how he started to work in the auto detailing business. After years of hard work, expanding his expertise and growing his clientele, he was able to open his own auto detailing shop. He goes on to run this business for 5 solid years before selling it in December 2017, when they had to move to Minnesota with their 4-month-old son to be closer to their family. Corey now works as an internet sales manager for Camping World. But this isn’t where his story ends. New baby, new State, new house and a new career? This just gets Corey even more fired up to find a better way to provide for his family AND be able to spend time with them. He takes his first steps in his online business journey by starting his website, autodetailcourse.com, and a blog, detaillikeapro.com. Several courses and blog posts later, he realizes that it’s not gaining as much traction as he expected and goes on to call the cavalry for help. (Clue: We are the cavalry!) What do you do when you’ve got content created and no one’s paying it any attention? In this episode, we’ll dive deep into how you can target your audience using keyword-rich content and why it’s important to speak the right language when you’re marketing your brand. Tune in and find out how we help Corey take his online business idea to the next level.   [Tweet "“A lot of us don’t have enough time and money, but if we’re resourceful we can make things work.

FL 189 – We help Mark figure out how to make money podcasting

FL 189 – We help Mark figure out how to make money podcasting

Everyone has at least one amazing teacher in their life. Right? You know, someone who went above and beyond to help you see your potential. The person who pointed you in the right direction to find the missing piece of the puzzle. This might be your parent, a sibling, a friend, or it might, quite literally, be your school teacher - it could be anyone! But just as someone sparked change in your life, isn’t it just absolutely mindblowing how YOU have touched other people’s lives too? Think about it. With or without you knowing, you’ve become a “teacher” and shared your wisdom, experience or maybe expertise to flip another person’s life for the better. Now, you probably don’t even remember all the people you’ve helped. Probably because you didn’t feel like you’ve done something big enough to elicit change. This is a problem. Why are we so obsessed with acknowledging only big changes when even a little bit of change goes a long way? We often say, “Celebrate all your successes, yes, even the little ones; because no matter how small you think that is, it will prepare you for even greater opportunities.” The same thing applies to change! Don’t just brush off the small changes when it has the potential to lead you to your greatest achievements. Which is also why you being “the teacher” is no coincidence. Every life you touch, every problem you help solve, takes the world one step closer to another piece of the puzzle. Embrace your every opportunity of being “the teacher” for the people around you. Great things await those who accept and pursue their passion. Which brings us to this week’s guest, we have a professional percussionist who has pursued the education scene in hopes to spark positive change in the way we educate our children. We have Mark Taylor on air, and this is his story… Mark is a husband, and father of 2 teenagers and a pre-teen. He has played drums and percussion for a living, where he has gotten the opportunity to tour the UK, Europe and the United States. He had also found teaching to be his other passion at age 40, thanks to his children. Mark is also part of the National Association for Primary Education in the UK which helped him understand the issues surrounding people involved in education, not just the amount of work and stress closely tied to this profession, but also because of certain limitations in the school system makes it difficult for them to deliver the kind of learning the children deserve. His podcast, Education on Fire, launched in December 2016, where he helps fellow educators discuss ideas and share resources online. But having the freedom to pursue his passion for music and teaching doesn’t come without a price. You see, time flexibility can be a double-edged sword. When you agree to one opportunity, you will have to turn down another, simply because you can’t be in two places at the same time and exert the same amount of effort to accomplish two different tasks. Being a father, professional musician, primary school teacher AND a podcaster is no easy task. Pursuing his music or teaching career will have its own benefits, but he has found great interest in podcasting and how it can help him have the freedom to spend more time with his family. He has already found a good audience through sharing his insight as a primary school teacher on his podcast, so how can that help him make money online? If you wanna know how we helped Mark, then don’t miss this episode, we’re going to dive deep into several fantastic points that will help take his online business to the next level and it can help you too!   [Tweet "“Teaching a child brings the best out in humanity.” - Shane"] [Tweet "“Reaching out is one of the most powerful things you can do.” - Jocelyn"] You Will Learn: The concept of opportunity & opportunity costs Why people will listen to you Refining your avatar

FL 188 – 5 Tips: How to Build Confidence

FL 188 – 5 Tips: How to Build Confidence

Do you believe in your goals and dreams? Are you confident in your capability and capacity to achieve success? Now, the answer to these questions may vary, but one thing is certain: Confidence and action go hand in hand, y’all! “How so?” you might ask. Well, we believe that: Confidence inspires us to take action, and taking purposeful action helps make us even more confident. You move forward and take action because you feel certain you can accomplish the task at hand, having this level of security allows you tune out the doubts and fears that holds you back from actually doing something. Now, as entrepreneurs, we lead our people based on the strengths we possess. “But why are we so compelled to follow someone confident?” The thing is, people are attracted to confident people because confident people are action-takers. You’re probably thinking: “Well, that makes sense but it’s hard enough trying to be confident without being an online entrepreneur...” We get it, harnessing self-confidence can be a struggle. We understand, we sometimes feel this way too! Jocelyn actually has a sticky-note on her computer that says, “I am a good leader” to remind herself every day. But hey! Just because she doesn’t feel like a good leader sometimes, doesn’t mean she isn’t one. Those who are struggling with self-confidence have as much potential as those who exude self-confidence. “But still, why do self-confident people get more out of life?” Because they just go out and do things. Think about it this way: Confidence is like a door. You open it, you close it -- it’s up to you. Each one of us has the ability to control this door. A door to new experiences and opportunities. A door that will help you mindfully say, “Yes” or “No.” A door that attracts action, growth, and change. Confidence is the door you have to open so you can meet your amazing potential. WHO WOULDN’T WANT TO OPEN THAT DOOR? So, if you’re struggling with self-confidence, we want you to know that you can do something about it. Because we know you can do whatever it takes to flip your life. We know you can deliver results. Now, it’s time to become more confident! In this episode, we’re sharing the top 5 confidence killers and how to defeat them. Confidence Killer #1: Lack of Knowledge Your Weapon: Get training You have access to a device (or devices) that allows you to consume all sorts of information, in all sorts of ways, you have to take advantage of this. Use it to learn and understand more about your chosen topic/field! Don’t just sit around and sulk that you don’t know how to do something. Seriously, go find out how it’s done and learn how to do it yourself. There is NO EXCUSE. Confidence Killer #2: Competition Your Weapon: Perspective Okay, so there are a lot of other people out there offering the same solution. Why would they choose you? Well, why wouldn’t they? There are more or less 4 billion people on the internet, there’s bound to be someone who will find YOU and choose YOU over everybody else because they relate to YOU and believe in YOU. Don’t fear the competition. Learn from their success, what worked for them and how it worked. Remember: Competition is good! It shows you that someone has already succeeded and that you can too. Confidence Killer #3: Avoiding Change and Seeking Comfort Your Weapon: Surround Yourself with Change-makers Avoiding change and seeking comfort is your brain’s way of protecting you from getting hurt. It’s going to stop you from jumping off the diving board because you might get hurt. But you know what else it stopped you from experiencing? It stopped you from the thrill of diving in the refreshing water. It stopped you from making new memories with friends. It stopped you from conquering your fear of the unknown. It stopped you from the opportunity of experiencing so...

FL 187 – We help David refine his avatar and apply new content creating strategies

“I really, really want to help people and do something to make their lives better BUT I don’t think I’m even qualified to do it.” Does this sound familiar? This is like saying, “I have superpowers and I want to help but I don’t think I should because I’m not really a certified superhero.” WHAT?! This is a mindset issue. It’s sad that you feel this way when deep down you know: “I CAN DO SOMETHING.” RIGHT. NOW. “But… b-but…” But what? Why do you let these excuses run your life? I don’t know about you but it sure don’t look like excuses are what the world needs right now. Excuses won’t make your life worthwhile. And it is NOT what your people need to move their life forward. In Luke 12:48, the Bible says: “From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.” Let that wisdom sink in, y’all. Now, are you ready for the big epiphany that you’ve probably (secretly) knew all along? YOU have a wealth of skills and talents that can solve people’s problems. Yes! We mean, YOU, reading this right now! The opportunity to move forward and succeed is right in front of you. So, what are you waiting for? Do the thing you said you’d do! TAKE ACTION and STRIVE FOR THE LIFE YOU WANT. Don’t take your gifts for granted, don’t waste your potential, and don’t kill your purpose. Let everything you do, everything you are and everything you will become be for the greater good. Be in tune with your superpower, embrace it! EVOLVE. And then never stop evolving, dreaming and doing. Our guest this week is someone with an amazing “superpower.” We’ll be helping out a real-life cowboy get his horse training business online and overcome his aversion to technological know-how, so he can take it to the next level. It’s going to be a huge transition but since training horses and cowboying it up are his superpowers, nothing’s going to stop him from understanding the fundamental principles in building the foundations of a successful online business. And now, without further ado, here’s David Neasons’ story… David is a father of two teenage kids, married to his amazing wife, Katie, and is a day-working cowboy. Before we proceed, let’s debunk the common misconception that cowboys equal to rodeo. There are different kinds of cowboys, with different skills that are remarkable labors of love. To cut it short, not all cowboys do rodeos, y’all! Some herd animals, some do the field work, and others are more like horsemen. Take David as an example, he is a working cowboy who specializes in horse training.  Growing up in a family of cowboys, he started his first colt when he was in high school, and also trained several horses for other people to make some money while he was in college. But despite being a Texas A&M graduate, he found it difficult to decide which career to pursue, the world was changing and there were a lot of different paths to choose from. With tons of encouragement from Katie, David went on to start his career on horseback as a Feedyard Cowboy. He loved this job and immediately regretted leaving that for a nine-to-five career. By 2005, he decided to leave the office, pick up where he left off as a cowboy and help raise the kids at home. So, how exactly did he start going online if he's a full-time cowboy and horseman? Working with animals that weigh about ten times more than him, he is met with a lot of near misses and near death experiences on a daily basis. So, he goes on to share his daily escapades with his family and friends, to the point where it’s almost a running joke that he almost always has at least one close call a day. But leave it to his wife to set the stage!

FL 186 – How to make $100 a day online

FL 186 – How to make $100 a day online

When we started our online business journey 6 years ago, our goal wasn’t simply to make a few bucks online. We wanted to create a consistent stream of income that would pay the bills, meet our family’s needs, and allow us to share lots of Can’t Miss Moments with our kids and loved ones. But this is easier said than done. Trust us, we know the struggle is real! We know how hard it is to make ends meet, the stress of living paycheck to paycheck, and having little to no means of investing in ourselves, let alone start our own online business. We were parents of, then, very young children (Isaac was a preschooler and Anna Jo was an infant). We had full-time jobs, I was a history teacher and Jocelyn was a school librarian. We lived in Kentucky, where it’s basically unheard of to make money online. So, how did we create the change that flipped our lives? The simple answer is... WE TOOK ACTION. It wasn't probably the best time to start an online business, but the clock was ticking and we had to make a choice. Now, we look back and we’re just so grateful that we listened to our hearts. We did what we had to do, instead of just wasting our time waiting for the “right” moment. Because if we waited for everything to be perfect, I doubt we’d be where we are now. Our lives changed for the better because we decided to walk this path, invested in ourselves and believed in what we could share with the world. In this week's episode, we’ll share 3 practical tips to help you make $100/day online: 1. ACTION IS THE CURE TO FEAR. We understand how terrifying it is to let go of all the indoctrinations the “world” has force-fed our minds... Go to school. Get a degree. Find a job. Start a family. Toil until you retire. Although your fear of the unknown is valid, you also have immeasurable potential. You have, within you, the power to create change in your life! Every time you take action, you take a step past that fear. Every time you take a step past those fears, you gain vital experience that you’ll need to conquer future fears far greater than the one you’ve just defeated. You see, all it takes is for you to take that first step. And then the next step. And then the next. Rinse and repeat. So, don’t underestimate yourself and all the amazing things you can share with the world. Your life is a constant testimony of resilience, so don’t be so quick to limit yourself to what everybody else says your life should be. Step out of your comfort zone, my friend. :) There’s more to life than keeping your dreams trapped behind that cage of self-doubt and fear of failure. It’s time to embrace those bright and endless possibilities that your courage will afford you (and your family). If you haven’t taken action yet, if you were too scared to try, then the moment is ripe for your picking! Remember... People who succeed are serious in creating success, they DO what it takes to make their lives better. Why? Because successful people are resilient. People who are not successful prefer to DO NOTHING, they are content with the mediocre. Why? Because mediocre is easier.   Bottomline: Take action with the intent to succeed and you, ultimately, will.   2. Don’t reinvent the wheel and chase fads. With so many tools and courses available in this day and age, it’s quite hard to stay focused on what you really need to start, build and grow a successful online business. What you need: Website Product Software to market the product Software to protect the product (so that people can't just search for it and find it) A way to take payments A way to deliver the product. That's it. You don’t need a $1,000 logo or 100,000 followers on those social media platforms to start making money online.   Bottomline: Keep it simple! The things you need to start,

FL185 – We help Debi understand key strategies to successfully launch her online community

FL185 – We help Debi understand key strategies to successfully launch her online community

When life gets hard, sometimes we tend to blame ourselves too much and end up focusing on everything that has gone wrong. We’d say things like... “I don’t have any skills to succeed.” “Everybody else is moving forward except me, now it’s already too late to catch up.” Well, this podcast is all about overcoming your fears and helping you carve your success online in your own unique way! Your struggles do not define you, and CANNOT stop you as long as you don’t give up. YOU have skills that are vital to your own success, as well as OTHER people’s success. And the only one stopping you from becoming successful is you, doubting your own probability of success! Think about it… We live in Kentucky. People here aren’t as technologically savvy as everyone else. Years ago people didn’t know much about the internet, let alone that you can use it to earn yourself a decent living. WE didn’t know much about it when we started either! Here’s the truth: Everyone’s starting point will be a little different, but anyone who wants a shot at success will have to invest the time and effort it takes to actually make it online. Your effort to move forward will always be met with some sort of resistance (because… PHYSICS!). But despite our success now, we DID struggle to succeed in the beginning just like everybody else. But the biggest factor that led us to success was that we stayed the course and learned from what wasn’t working. We shifted our efforts to creating and improving products and services that would change the lives of so many budding talents in our online membership community. Struggling pushes us to evolve. It is up to us to find the lesson from our struggles, and use that lesson to become even better versions of ourselves in order to bless those around us. Because we’re all here to help those whose lives we touch! Now, our guest this week has been working in the Airline Industry for over 3 decades. She has gone through her share of struggles and harnessed those experiences to be the support she wished she had access to while going through difficult times. Her name is Debi Talbert. And this is her story… Originally from Florida, Debi moved to Northern Kentucky in 2002 and later went back to Florida in 2011. She’s been married to her husband, Duncan, for 20 years; she has 4 adult children, 5 delightful grandbabies, and 5 granddogs. She has been working as a Flight Attendant for 35 years but has had her retirement plan disappear when her company filed for bankruptcy. RETIREMENT PLAN… GONE. POOF! VANISHED! Although disappointed, Debi went on to start her entrepreneurial journey in order to sustain their current lifestyle, spend more time with her growing family, and finally be free from the bonds of corporate employment. She started out doing multi-level marketing, but her schedule proved to be much too random to sustain such a venture. So she looked for the next best thing: ONLINE BUSINESS. It wouldn’t come as a surprise that she had decided to dive into online business and begin carving out her own internet success story, since she has always been fascinated with computers. She joined the Flip Your Life community, participated in forum conversations, found the support and insight she needed in order to take her next steps. Since starting her blog, she has been able to apply new ideas for her website to support her true calling, which is guiding high functioning women with extreme drinking habits stay sober But what makes her the expert? You might ask. Remember when we said that everyone has different life struggles that they have to deal with? Well, it just so happened that Debi’s struggle was her attempt to silence her anxiety with excessive drinking. She was an introvert who was uncomfortable with her own voice, sharing her thoughts, guilty of her own private drinking prison. She ignored her pent-up emotions,

FL 184 – Our TOP 7 Time management tips that actually work for busy entrepreneurs

FL 184 – Our TOP 7 Time management tips that actually work for busy entrepreneurs

A couple of weeks ago on the podcast, we had a big discussion about time management and how important it was to kind of shift your mindset away from, "I don't have time," to, "I will find the time and I'm going to do whatever it takes to be successful." We're going to revisit that topic today and learn even more time management strategies. It gets much more practical with our 7 best time management tips. These are the time management tips that helped us build and grow a successful online business, allowed us to quit our jobs, and gave us the freedom that we have now to spend more time with each other and with our kids. In our experience, it doesn't matter where you are in your online business journey, everyone needs time management help. We all have the exact same amount of time, and almost everyone we know struggles at some point with time management. How you're managing your time is something you've got to reevaluate every now and then. One of the things that led to this series on time management in our podcast is because Jocelyn and I had kind of gotten off the path a little bit. We stopped using our calendar quite as much. We weren't getting into our normal routines. Things were getting a little hectic with the kids in school, and life just tends to knock you off of your time management plan and it's really up to you to go redirect your course. You've got to get back on the path and ask, "What are the fundamentals?  What are the basics?  What are the practical things that I can actually do to manage my time and make sure I'm getting everything done?" That's what we're going to talk about today. Tip #1: Stop letting other people kill your time. Set boundaries to protect your time from distractions and disruptions. We all have a set amount of time every day, so we have to be careful of who and what we spend our time on. Here are some of the things we did (that you can TOTALLY do too!) to take control of our time: Cancel voicemail Checking your voicemail a few minutes a day distracts you from more productive activities. Sure, you’d say, “But it’s only a few minutes!” or “I really need to know who left that message.” Ask yourself... Do I really NEED to check these voice messages? Why do I need this when there are better ways to communicate? Always find ways to do things and invest time better. Listening to voicemail is definitely not one of them. Take control of your inbox The people in your inbox should be helping you make progress in your life. Get rid of emails that are constantly vying for your time that aren’t important, or aren’t giving you the answers / resources you need to move forward. Unsubscribe. Delete. Empty your inbox. Do what you’ve got to do to get started on the right track. Worried about emergencies and urgent emails? If that’s even the case, the people / company that sent that to you will stay in touch to get that message across. If you think you’ll clean that up later… chances are you wont. So, do it now and do it fast. Shut off unnecessary phone notifications Your time is valuable. We know this. YOU KNOW THIS. So, why aren’t you doing anything to eliminate time wasters? You don’t need to be on your phone for every single notification that makes that sweet buzzing sound (or whatever sound it’s supposed to make). Will knowing someone liked your photo make you money? NO. Will a game alert on Facebook grow your business? NO. So stop getting distracted with things that aren’t making you successful. Invest your time and effort only on things that create abundance, freedom and success for you and your family. Get caller ID to filter important calls from unimportant calls Getting caller ID helps you identify calls you absolutely must take, from those you can call back later or even those you can ignore all together. FL 183 – How Sandra made over $700 a month in passive income while raising a newborn and fighting breast cancer

FL 183 – How Sandra made over $700 a month in passive income while raising a newborn and fighting breast cancer

Here’s the deal: Life can (and will) throw curveballs in our general direction when we least expect it. Things that are beyond our control, things that hurt and things that make us feel disconnected from everything else. And as if that’s not enough, this often happens when we’re already pretty overwhelmed. Nevertheless, we don’t stop there… NO, we endure the challenges with everything we’ve got. WHY? Because we have the capability to persevere, to look for and find hope, to choose courage, to find peace in our faith -- to emerge victorious in our darkest hours. By now, y’all have probably noticed that we’re going off our usual style here, and we’re very happy that you did, because that means you’re paying attention, and you’ll be glad you did. You see, we’ve already recorded more than 180 podcast episodes. We’ve heard some really exceptional men and women share their finest hours, as well as recount some of their biggest trials, but none quite as inspiring as our guest, Sandra, has today. Sandra's story has moved and touched us so much that we laughed, ached and cried while recording.   We learned so much from her today and you will too, it's going to get super interesting and super inspiring real quick. Here’s her story... Sandra is a 34 years old Singaporean, who studied her music degree in the United Kingdom, married a Malaysian and lived in his home country for 5 years, and has always worked as a school music teacher. She struggled to conceive a child for many, many years. They've tried different fertility treatments, but was unsuccessful. Unfazed, she decided to dedicate her time and talent as a Worship Keyboardist to create something that would help and bless others. She searched for ways to do so, and later found out about the online business scene (because Sandra just ain’t the kind to idly sit by and do nothing). She listened to several podcasts, dived deep into all the free content she could find, later joined the Flip Your Life community, and started building what she now calls, “The Inspired Keys Academy.” She poured thousands of hours of hard work, creating content and leading her community, things were going great, she has been quite successful with her eBook sales as well. Just when you thought things couldn’t get any better... She and her husband moved to Australia. New country. New house. New climate. Not to mention, their furniture hasn’t even arrived yet, and then... PREGNANT. Sandra became pregnant despite all the new changes in her life! Can you believe just how miraculous that is? But now that she’s expecting, she lost all interest in online business and kinda let it slide to the back burner, that doesn’t mean she’s lost her entrepreneurial spirit though. She was able to set up her own piano studio at home, where she teaches kids one-on-one, and months later had given birth to a healthy baby boy. Okay. Now, let’s try that again… New country. New house. New climate. YAY! Pregnant. New piano studio at home. OH MY GOSH! Just gave birth. It doesn’t stop there... 10 days after childbirth, Sandra got diagnosed with breast cancer. Let that sink in for a moment, that’s the curveball right there. Like anybody receiving this kind of news, she broke down and cried. Factor in post pregnancy hormones and you’re in for the craziest emotional roller coaster ride ever. But here’s the thing that cancer didn’t know, Sandra is probably the closest thing you have to Wonder Woman. With a “Never Give Up” attitude and her strong faith in God, Sandra was able to brush the dust off her shoulders and started counting her blessings. Remember that online business she put on the back burner? Well, it continued to earn her an average of 700 AUD a month. It was automated, so she wasn’t even doing anything, how much more would she have earned if she kept growing her community? She thought about how blessed they were,

FL 182 – How busy parents can find the time to start, build, and grow a successful online business

FL 182 – How busy parents can find the time to start, build, and grow a successful online business

Are you a busy parent not having enough time for your online business? On this week’s episode, we’re going to help you find 3-5 hours of time to start, build, and grow a successful online business. These are tried and tested strategies that we apply in our daily routines whenever we get pressed for time. Are you a time-pressed entrepreneur? This episode will help you step up your time management skills, and help you stay laser-focused on your goals. Are you a time-pressed parent? This episode is for you, online business or no online business. If you’ve been pushing that thing you said you’d do farther and farther away on your calendar, you’re going to find heaps of insight to finally find, make and take control of your time. This episode is for everyone who has ever wondered, “Where has all my time gone?” So, stick around and ready your thinking hats, 'cause it’s TIME to flip your life. 3 Steps to better time management Step 1: Always look at how you’re spending your time. To be able to spend your time wisely, you need a firm understanding of your routines, you need to be honest with yourself and in what you need to do to transform your life for the better. WHAT YOU’RE DOING + WHEN YOU’RE DOING IT + HOW TO DO IT BETTER Knowing just the first two does not equate to effective time management, you must strive to do better. Ask yourself, “What can I do differently that can take me a step closer to my goals and dreams?” Remember, you need to work hard and work smart to become successful. Often times, we become blindsided by the sense of security brought about by our daily routine. You might think that you’re doing everything to move your life forward, when in fact, more opportunities would have presented itself if you had been more mindful of how you’re spending your time. We created the Flipped Lifestyle 168 hours grid in order to see where we were spending our time, because you know what they say, “Seek and you shall find!” After mapping our hours spent in a week, we realized that you can categorize your daily activities into: Non-negotiables - blocked time meant for things you NEED to do: Eat, sleep, spend time with kids, work, etc. Negotiables - time you spend on activities you want, but could otherwise have been spent on more productive endeavors: Watch TV, play games on your phone, etc. When you see the freed blocks of time right in front of you, you’d be surprised to know that YOU ACTUALLY DO HAVE THE TIME TO DO WHAT YOU SAID YOU SHOULD BE DOING - yeah, those things you said months / years ago. Keyword: Prioritize. Step 2: Make time for more important things. “If you want to do something, you’ll find a way. If not, you’ll find an excuse.” Stop wasting your time hesitating and second-guessing! You’ve just shed some light on the things that truly matter, it’s about time to work on making the right adjustments to start living the life you’ve always dreamed of. Wouldn’t you rather be leagues closer to success by making time for what’s important and taking action, than holding yourself back with all those excuses? If you’ve found a good hour or two (trust us, you will!), use it to launch yourself forward. If you haven’t, well… roll up your sleeves, and MAKE TIME to put yourself in that catapult, because if you don’t set yourself up for success, no one else will. Take control of your time, before it takes control of you. Keyword: Prioritize! Step 3: Politely say “NO” to external pressures Saying “NO” comes with a price. There will be raised eyebrows, there will be resistance to your shifting gears, but success is a labor of love, as with anything born out of love, you’ve got to be prepared to make some sacrifices. You need to say no to things that are holding you back from your goal, this can be activities you really enjoy, like watching TV or nights out, etc., but remember, this is only temporary.

FL 181 – We help Jeff refocus his sales funnel to create a consistent and sustainable online income

Cheers to another month full of new content and insight! Our Flip Your Life guest member this week is Clinical Psychologist, Human Leader and Keynote Speaker, Dr. Jeff Van Meter. Jeff started his career as an engineer with about 4 years of field experience before going back to school to pursue clinical psychology. His career shift led him to the Chicago suburbs where he eventually settled down and had a family. Dr. Van Meter has had reasonable success in his 25 years of clinical practice and as an entrepreneur. One of his unfair advantages is his innate penchant for public speaking which has allowed him to go on several leadership oriented speaking engagements. With 3 children almost ready for college, Jeff’s entrepreneurial spirit kicked in. He started looking  for other potential streams of income that’s not tied to government and insurance regulations since this has had a negative impact on his paycheck. To start his online business, he needed something that won’t burn him out, but still gave him the opportunity to change the lives of as many people as possible -- something that would take his family’s life to the next level. He created several websites, attended several masterminds, followed a lot of advice from other well-meaning mentors, but this just blurred his focus and now his brand is suffering online identity crisis. Join us as we help Jeff consolidate his websites, highlight his strengths as a seasoned keynote speaker, and get his sales funnel back in shape. It’s time to transform ideas into action, and you know, we’re always here to help you find better ways to take action. So, don’t miss it!   You will learn: How to deal with online identity crisis Taking control and staying focused Using your online influence to boost your offline engagements Sales funnel and webinar basics Plus so much more [Tweet "We’ve got to celebrate all the wins. - Shane and Jocelyn"] [Tweet "You have more great things going on than you think you do. - Shane"] Links and resources mentioned in today’s show: Dr. Jeff Van Meter’s Website  US History Teachers Elementary Librarian Michael Hyatt  John Lee Dumas  Aaron Walker  Flip Your Life community Flip Your Life LIVE in Nashville!  [Tweet "The steps you take must always be focused on achieving the goal. - Jocelyn"] [Tweet "You have to do it your way or you're not going to stick with it in the long term anyway. - Shane"] [Tweet "Find an accountability partner who helps you, and compliments your strengths. - Jocelyn"] Enjoy the podcast; we hope it inspires you to explore what’s possible for your family! Success Story of the Week: Today's story comes from a brand new member of the Flip Your Life community.  Her name is Shelly, and the subject in her post in the Success Forums says, "I finished my course guidebook!!!"  She's super excited about this one.   Shelly says, "I just finished my guidebook for my course, which is a huge accomplishment for me. I also finished creating the PowerPoint presentation for my videos, which I'll be recording next week. I can't tell you how wonderful it feels to have the content of the course completed.  Thank you, S & J, for all your encouragement, motivating podcast, and helpful tools.  2018 is going to be phenomenal!" I love this post, because Shelly just joined our community and was an action taker from day one; talking in other threads, replying to people's topics, posting action plans, posting her success stories, and this success story is amazing, because you know we always celebrate getting new customers, making more money, getting closer to replacing our incomes, quitting our jobs and changing our lives, but it's those little things you do along the way that you've got to celebrate if you're ever going to make it to your end goal.

FL 180 – How to use Facebook Live and YouTube Live to grow your online business

FL 180 – How to use Facebook Live and YouTube Live to grow your online business

Doing Facebook and YouTube LIVE broadcasts really help grow your online business! Yes, you heard it right. So in this week’s episode, we’re going to share our insight on live video content and how it can exponentially boost your audience’s awareness of your brand. Recently, we've been doing several live events online, like Q&As and AMAs (ask-me-anything); we were testing this digital marketing strategy to see how it affects our brand and numbers. The results took us by surprise! There was a massive boost in our online followers, conversion rates and sales shortly after we’ve done live content. In a Forbes article, it said that 87% of online marketers are implementing the use of video content to grow their brands. This made us realize just how powerful social media is and how online entrepreneurs can benefit from this kind of content creation. Here’s a summary of what we’ve learned about live video content, advantages and some pro tips to overcome that fear of being in front of the camera. 5 Advantages of using LIVE video content: Easy to create. Live videos are super simple and can often be done on your phone. You don’t need fancy gear to share it online, no need for editing, and just gives you that freedom to do it anytime or anywhere you want. Boosts authority. If you present yourself as an expert, people are going to accept you as an expert. Doing live videos boosts your online authority, because people think you won’t hit “record” if you’re not qualified. Boosts authenticity. A live video allows your audience to relate to you on a deeper level. They get a sneak peek of who you are as a person, what your brand is about, and why you’re doing what you’re doing. Going live shows your audience that successful people are real and they have vulnerabilities too. This makes them eager to know you even more and relate to your story -- which makes them feel that they have a chance of becoming successful too. Engages your audience real time. Live videos notify people who follows your page real time, this gives them the opportunity to jump in and participate. Here, you can establish your credibility as the expert and foster engagement between members of your group. Boosts sales. Build enough curiosity with a good topic and description, and you’ll get a huge sales boost. More live videos = more chances of even more people finding you. Ultimately, when more people see your content, the bigger the chance that they’ll buy something from you. Pro tips: Do what makes you feel comfortable and confident. Use an outline to guide you through the video. Do it as often as you can, until it becomes routine. Get friends to view your live videos for practice. Build curiosity with a good topic and description. Remember that you have the power to kick trolls off of your group. Address the concern, but ignore unnecessary negative comments. Success Story of the Week: This week's success story is a special one because Jocelyn and I are going to celebrate a little success that we have had in our brand and we didn't even really know this had happened, is what's so funny because we set this goal last year. If you listen to our earlier episodes in 2016, you’ll catch us sharing our goal from 2015, that we wanted to get 1,000 members in the Flip Your Life community.   We wanted 1,000 people or more to be actively flipping their lives, chasing that flipped lifestyle, taking courses, taking action, and doing whatever it took to flip their life and we weren't even really paying attention. And one of our members posted a forum post in success forums that said, "Congrats, guys, you guys achieved your goal. There's over 1,000 members of the community!" It's just amazing and funny how goals work, we didn't focus on that goal.

Our Secret Weapon for Online Business Success

Our Secret Weapon for Online Business Success

We’ve made it this far because of the conscious effort we put into the choices we make.  Some choices have bigger impacts on your life and business than others. Today we’ll share with you our secret weapons for online success. This is the single choice we made that helped us grow exponentially as husband and wife, as business partners and as entrepreneurs in general.  What's our secret weapon? Choosing to invest in ourselves and attend live events! Attending live events has been the single biggest game changer in our online business.   There’s something about going to a live event that takes everything in your business to the next level. Being surrounded by entrepreneurs of every level is a huge opportunity far too good to pass up. WHY? Everyone who goes to a live event is serious about their business. No one is messing around. Everyone is there to work and make the right connections that will help transform their business in the future. We would not be where we are today, if we had not gone to those live events early in our journey. The revelations you get by meeting the mind (or minds) behind the content, behind the business, will blow you away! [Tweet "Attending live events has been the single biggest difference maker in our online business." - Jocelyn"] Now that we got your attention with the perks, here are some tips and tricks to get you LIVE event ready! How to Choose The Right Event For You AND Get The Most Out of It: “WHO IS LEADING THE GROUP?” You should trust the person leading you to your next step. Make sure you do your research and learn about who is hosting the event, what they value, the purpose of the event and if they have the content you need to start or grow your online business. “WHO IS GOING?” Take time to consider the size of the event. A smaller event gives a more personalized experience that lets you connect with others on a deeper level. There’s less clutter, less noise, less competition for everyone’s attention, so the opportunity to build relationships with your fellow entrepreneurs is greater. This also makes asking your questions and finding the right answers even easier. Remember: You’re not there just for the content. Go connect, build and strengthen relationships with your fellow participants, doing so will make a huge difference to your business in the future. “WHAT ARE YOUR PRIORITIES VS THE REWARDS?” Invest in yourself and your business. We know how difficult it is for people to do this, but you must work on making a commitment to believe and invest in yourself and your business because the rewards are going to be bigger when you do. Overcome challenges and remove obstacles. Being a parent makes this even more complicated since there’s going to be some guilt sinking in, “What will happen to the kids while I’m away?” But what if by attending this live event, your business takes off and in turn, it significantly makes your family’s life better, would you now be willing to invest time, effort and money? You have to be ready to do whatever it takes to get to the next level and make that a priority. Are you investing your time, money and energy in a way that saves, frees up and generate you MORE time, money and energy? If the answer to the question above is “YES!” then you’re already part of the 10% who’s setting themselves up for success. If your answer is, “No,” then there’s no better time than the present to START making the changes needed to create a truly amazing life for your family. Being resourceful is a handy skill that all entrepreneurs must possess, practice resourcefulness and go do what you said you were going to do -- DO IT NOW. [Tweet ""Live events have 10x'd our business time and time again." - Shane"] Bonus Tips On Overcoming Challenges & Removing Obstacles: Try driving to the event location if flying there is too expensive for you. This also works well if you’re living in relativ...
