The founders developed a system that provides farmers an opportunity to maximize productivity and return on investment throughout a farm enterprise. Today, Advanced Agrilytics is expanding rapidly to provide its agronomic technology services to even more customers and is based out of Indianapolis, IN.Our approach to zone management is anything but arbitrary. Our Hex-Grid approach uses 70 hexagon-shaped data points per acre to better identify problem areas and proactively manage in-field performance. Our main focus is identifying in-field environments and managing those environments on a sub-acre level. We are having grower meetings across the state of Iowa in late June, and that is one of the main points we want to make sure to cover, aside from the nuts and bolts of our business. He is currently the Ag Product Manager/Global LSW for Titan International, Inc. Scott has worked for Titan for over 21 years and is with us today to talk all things tires!Soil CompactionGenerally, a good soil contains about 25 percent water & 25 percent air by volume. This 50 percent is referred to as pore space. The remaining 50 percent consists of soil particles. Any wheel traffic that reduces pore space results in a dense soil w/ poor internal drainage & reduced aeration. How does compaction hurt a crop yield or potential?Compacted soil has smaller pores and fewer natural channels, water infiltration is drastically reduced. This causes greater surface wetness, more runoff, increased erosion, and longer drying time. Wet fields delay planting and harvesting and decrease crop yields. Plant roots don't grow well in dense soil. Inadequate moisture and nutrients reach the plant, and yield is reduced. In years when soil moisture is plentiful, the impact on crop growth may not be obvious. With moisture shortage, plants on compacted soil stress more easily, and reduced growth and yield are noticeable.Do soil types matter when it comes to compaction?Generally, the smaller the soil particles, the more compaction reduces the yield. What impact does soil moisture have on compaction? What implement does the most compacting?PlanterTillageGrain cartSomething else?Equipment trending heavier or lighter? What is the advantage of having the “tire guy” come out and weigh your equipment?Load & inflation tables….Can you run lower PSI in any tires? What are the consequences?Any risks?Older planter tires?Older tires in general? What does lowering the PSI in a tire do?How do you know when your PSI is too low?Or too high? How do we determine tire sizes? Front vs backTractorsCombinesSprayersImplementsWhat advancement in technology led to exploring lower PSI or compaction options?Any systems available that change tire pressure on the go?What about changing from road travel pressure to in field pressure?Where is tire technology headed?Airless?Would helium make the tractor lighter? What types of compaction are created by an inappropriately inflated tire?ISU study about the front tire 8310R less than the planter tires – rear worseCrown or a cone – what shape does it make? Mushroom? Tear drop?No-til vs strip til vs full tilDoes this have an effect on the susceptibleness of a field to compaction?Should we be more concerned about compaction at the surface or deeper compaction levels? To some extent, shallow compaction at depths of 12 inches or less can be remedied. Deep compaction cannot be corrected, however, and it causes reduced yields. What is your take on the performance advantages of:Tires vs Tires with new technologyTires vs tracks2 tracks vs 4 tracks vs 2 tracks and 2 tiresWhat advice do you have to people seeking the best value in tires?Good-for-a-yearOff brandsDifferent situationsAny other pieces of information to share with our listeners? What do you see your top producing or top tier of clients doing? –Common traitsSummaryChallengeCommercial - BW Fusion – Focused on bringing innovative Fertility, Nutritional and Technology to the Ag market place. In interviews, performance reviews, or while sharing feedback. Everyone agrees that being a team player is extremely desirable in an employee or vendor that a farmer does business with. We all in our minds have a definition of a team player, what’s yours?!According to Lencioni, a team player has three characteristics. Further, Lencioni states, when a team member significantly lacks one or more of these virtues, the process of building a cohesive team becomes hard, and in some cases, impossible. So in the words of your farm. If you or a member if your team (family, employees, advisory team, or vendors) don’t share these attributes or aren’t working to grow them…..you’re less likely to succeed.Virtue #1 – HumbleThis is by far the most obvious and easiest to understand. Humility in a team member shows up as a lack of excessive ego, or concerns about personal status. Whoofta – who just thought of that salesman/buyer that you don’t like working with…..acting like their shit don’t stinkProbably also just thought about someone you know who always seems to genuinely care when you meet them for a conversationThey are quick to share credit, praise others freely, and sometimes even forego credit due to them in the interest of celebrating the team’s collective win. I’m thinking of an agronomist we just interviewed….even though he made the suggestions, he’s going to celebrate you when your production results come in.They demonstrate strong alignment towards the team’s goals, and prioritize collective wins over individual ones. Humble team players are self-confident, but not arrogant. A memorable quote that summarizes this indispensable attribute is:“Humility isn’t thinking less of yourself, but thinking of yourself less.”Note-Be careful: People who are insecure sometimes discount their own talents and thereby appear humble. People whose sense of self-worth is extremely deflated often end up hurting the team by being very passive. They don’t advocate for their ideas, nor call out the team’s inadequacies.Virtue #2 – HungryHungry: Hungry people are always looking for more. (just like our listeners)They are intrinsically motivated, diligent, and have a strong desire to do more by going above and beyond. I think of most of these to be business owners. I find in farming it is rare to find an employee that will go above and beyond for the benefit of their employer’s farm. I know they exist, just think it is rare.Hungry people do not have to be pushed by their managers to perform; they are constantly looking for more responsibility, and thinking about the next step and the next opportunity (for the team).Who do you know, or just popped in your head right now as we described it?Do you work with them already? Can you hire this person?Note – be aware: Some people can be ‘hungry’ in a selfish way, and that is extremely detrimental to team health. Hunger driven by selfishness causes individual goals always trump collective team goals.Virtue #3 – SmartSmart: By ‘smart’, the author here refers to emotional intelligence and interpersonal awarenessThe capability to conduct oneself in a group situation and deal with others in the most effective way.Jen Hartman talked about this….some people just “get it” Emotionally intelligent people ask good questions, listen to what others are saying, and stay engaged in conversations intently. In-laws “Grumpy Dan” vs “Happy Dan”We all have landlords like this……some get it and others appear mean-heartlessSmart people exercise great judgment and intuition around the subtleties of group dynamics and are fully aware of the effect their words will have on the team.Note- watch out: ‘Smart’ness does not always imply good intentions. Watch out for ‘smart’ people who are in it for the wrong reasons. What happens if you or someone doesn’t have all three? The accidental mess-maker: You know that team member who is wicked smart, motivated and always bubbling with great ideas, but very often ends up rubbing others the wrong way? This person is Humble and Hungry, but not Smart! The skillful politician: That engineer who is everyone’s friend and confidant, and knows the perfect thing to say every time. He’s motivated, eager, and ambitious, but only where there’s an element of personal benefit The skillful politician, who is Hungry and Smart, but not Humble! The lovable slacker: He cares about everyone. He’s charming and always positive. He is technically capable, dependable, and is a solid member of the team. But — he does only as much as he is asked to do, and is rarely proactive with seeking newer areas of work. The lovable slacker, who is Humble and Smart, but not Hungry! The bulldozer: A powerhouse, he is determined to get stuff done, but with a focus on his personal achievements with little concern for his team. He neither knows nor cares how his words impact the people around him. A bulldozer who’s Hungry, but neither Humble nor Smart.Yada Yada Yada, right? I still don’t think this matters to my little ol farm….. or it’s dad’s farm and I am just working here until he retires. This matters in so many areas. Employees, the network around you, and the way you conduct yourself. How do I grow my farm? Maybe by emitting these characteristics while serving on a board. Meeting a future landlord and earning their trust.Maybe you develop a relationship with a cattle or hog buyer. Get a trusting relationship that gets the most for your animal through mutual respect.Building trust in general….that’s how you learn about opportunities We all know a famer/rancher that seems to get into the win/win opportunities, do they possess these characteristics?Any other pieces of information to share with our listeners? What do you see your top producing or top tier of clients doing? –Common traitsSummaryChallengeSubmit questions and topic suggestionsLike, Rate, Review, Share

Hopefully today we discover or uncover something that will immediately bring value or more profit opportunities to your farming operation. Let’s attack the most common planting myths out there.Let’s focus on corn and soybeans today for the sake of time. First off Planting DateList myth here 🡪 Always plant corn before soybeansDoes this really matter? Which crop should be planted first?Besides paying attention to the calendar, what should we be paying attention toHow do we know if it’s fit to go? – watch the neighborsAny tests with results that present proof to bust the myth?Next myth - Planting Depth List Myth here 🡪 Shallow planted corn will emerge faster and obtain higher yieldsAgain, with a focus on corn and soybeans what is the proper planting depthWhat conditions would cause this to change?Cold = shallowerNo moisture = deeperOthers? We learned about planter technology in the previous show that allows seeds to be evenly spaced. Also, that down force and up force has been created to make sure planting depth is consistent. This is obviously important. But why is it important? How do you check planting depthHow often should you be checking it?Last Myth -Planting/Seeding RateList Myth here 🡪 The seeding rate should be the exact same from year to yearO boy, this is going to open up a can of worms.Farmer vs merchandiserWe’ve heard the potential for corn is 600 bu/ac from the bagWe’ve heard the potential for beans is 200+ bu/ac from the bagFarmers just screw this up.What is the standard population for corn and beans?Do retailers push this number higher to sell more seed?Profitability battle when trying to reach higher yields – can raise more but does it costs your farm more too?#LowpopMafiaChallenging the populations on the lower sides in both corn and beansDoes changing your population change your planting date?Does this show more up in variable rate scripts? Seeds may be classified as viable in a germination test which provides optimum temperature, moisture and light conditions to the growing seedlings; however, they may not be capable of continuing growth and completing their life cycle under a wide range of field conditions. Generally, seeds start to lose vigor before they lose their ability to germinate; therefore vigor testing is an important practice in seed production programs. It’s important to knowHow are these tests done?Cold testAccelerated AgingElectric ConductivityAnything else? Can this testing be done of the farm or does it need to go to a lab?How should we use these results?Hybrid planting dateHybrid populationField selection by soil type or geographyWhat if the Spring doesn’t show up like we had planned? How can we use the data we have from germ testing to make changes?Any other suggestions to share with our listeners?Planting/Planter Segment (HTS Ag)----What could farmers be doing to plant additional profit in to each acre this spring?Introduce the guest. - AdamHere we are at the end of February. By adjusting the angle at which these blades engage the soil, the operator has more exacting control of the tool and can match soil conditions and ground speed of the implement to achieve a smooth, even seedbed with every pass. The new tillage tools incorporate John Deere’s precision control, TruSet Technology, which lets you make on-the-go depth and down-pressure adjustments from the cab. You can fine-tune the implement with 0.1-inch adjustments with just the touch of a button. And, the TruSet system provides the ability to execute prescriptions and document the tillage operation. So, you can run variable-depth tillage prescriptions to incorporate residue at different levels across the field or change the depth of tillage for different conditions such as lighter soils or areas of known compaction.Alright, maybe we can’t go out and buy new. This allows to grow healthier animals, healthier soils, and a lower carbon footprint.2 – How do you accomplish this?We plant strips of corn and soybeans with pasture. We graze the pasture strips with multiple species of livestock in a mobile barn that autonomously moves through the strips daily throughout the season. The animals consume our diverse pasture mix while stimulating the soil with their hooves, snouts, beaks, and microbiomes, leaving behind a rich mix of manure to feed the soil. The row crops grown in between the pasture strips benefit from this arrangement by having more access to sunlight up and down the plant canopy. We do all of these things while giving consumers a front row seat to the show with our webcams and livestreams so they can see and participate with the production of their food. 3 – What’s the Benefit of farming this way? The end result is a diverse high quality mix of animal meats that we market and sell directly to consumers through various creative avenues allowing farmers to maintain profitability driving the sustainability of rural communities.4 – What did you learn from your first season?5 – What is your goal for the StockCropper in the future?Main Topic2020 Market Wrap Up – Two Outstanding ExpertsGreg Peterson has over 25 years of experience in the machinery business. Josh works with growers and Pioneer seed reps on variable rate seed, N and fertility. He also grows corn and soybeans near Emery, SD with his two brothers and his father. Kayser is also the Mayor of Emery, serves on the board for the Emery Volunteer Fire District and was a former ASA DuPont Young Leader. When not farming, Josh enjoys time with his wife and their four children. BUSY GUY! Josh, tell us a little more about how you got to where you areshare background and how you became CSAWe want to explore more options to help us achieve higher levels of profitability. Do you see the use of our current and developing variable rate technology being a way to do that?Key talking points: VR equates to more profitability by:better optimizing input investments (not over-applying where you don’t have the yield potential, and pushing yield on most productive ground)better accounting for variability within fieldsbeing able to adjust your plans to account for farming variables like weatherWhat goes into the process of getting started or set up to do VRT?Key talking points: overview technology needsoverview who to partner with to get the support/service you needstart with soil samplingset yield goalscreate custom scriptsin-season monitoring/adjustingIs it necessary to do soil sampling to get a good baseline or can you do without?Follow-up Questions: Why do we soil sample anyway?N P K or more? Level up?How often should we be sampling? What time of year should we sample? What’s the best technique of sampling? What determines the size of the sample or area for sample?Have we really reached the point in our advancements with technology where VRT actually works?Key talking points: Flat rate isn’t only uneconomical, it’s not environmentally friendlyAs we look at how farming has changed in recent decades, we’ve transitioned to thinking about our entire farm to really focusing on the fields within the farm. Now, we’re moving towards better managing zones within fields, and in the future we’ll be managing every plant with things like drone application. Technology is allowing us to better manage in-field variables so that we can set yield targets and then put plans in place to achieve them, but it takes a different kind of management than how we farmed in the past. What makes Granular Agronomy different from other precision offerings on the market? Key Talking Points We start by creating what we call decision zones within your field. These zones are comprised of three things: Environmental response units, which take into account your soil type, field elevation, and how the field lays MYYA (Multi-year yield analysis) We utilize multiple years of yield data to determine historical areas of low, medium and high production. This layer intersects the ERUs to provide even greater clarity on yield capability.Irrigation – If a field has irrigation, zones are created to denote irrigated and non-irrigated. Different yield targets can be set accordingly, and irrigated zones utilize user-entered irrigation events, including fertigation We use these decision zones when we come up with N, seeding and fertility recommendations. Today, our 3 BBL facility serves as our Research and Development center and is still firing out experimental ales. In November of 2016 we brought our 20 BBL brewery online, situated in the historically renovated WonderBread building in the neighboring community of Waterloo, Iowa. While our production capacity has changed, our goal of bringing intriguing, quality ales into your glass has not. Farm4Fun w/ Tyler Richton and the High Bank Boys featuring Big Grove Brewery
https://www.tylerrichton.com/contact-usThe story of Tyler Richton and the High Bank Boys isn’t easy to put on to paper. The name "High Bank Boys" comes from the body of water flowing through the bands home territory in Deep River, Iowa. The Deep River passes through the town of the same name, but the shallow stream wasn't named for its actual depth, but rather the "High Banks" that contain the river in the town and surrounding area. Known for having their practices in and around the community, the “High Bank Boys” became the perfect name for the sensational group of men that was founded there. While shows performed by Tyler Richton and the High Bank Boys are youthful and lively, the four members of the High Bank Boys have more than 50 years of experience playing live music combined. With this kind of dedication and devotion to country music, it's no wonder that the High Bank Boys have become the premier country band in the area. Known for being an excellent dance band as well as making the crowd feel like "one of the guys" when there's no dance floor available, the High Bank Boys are at home playing in almost any kind of venue or event. The musical travels of the various members of Tyler Richton and the High Bank Boys have been extensive, both before and through the formation of the current band. Music has taken them from local clubs, to fireman's dances and anniversary parties, and from the largest events and festivals to street dances in the smallest of towns throughout the entire state of Iowa. Tyler Richton and the High Bank Boys have been honored to be the opening act for Locash, John Michael Montgomery, High Valley, Sunny Sweeney, Jordan Davis and Brett Young, among others. Each performance has been a great professional achievement for them, and they anxiously look forward to the next opportunity!Their most rewarding experiences, however, are the looks of satisfaction on the faces of their fans during and after another great show. It’s easy to see from their following, that this group of guys and the music they play is genuinely appreciated. Tyler Richton and the High Bank Boys’ repertoire includes iconic country cover tunes, as well as original music that is written and arranged by the band. All this and more makes the High Bank Boys a danceable, partying, crowd-pleasing, energetic band that is entertaining for folks of all ages. While our group makes the music, it's the individuals in the band that make Tyler Richton and the High Bank Boys so unique.https://biggrovebrewery.com/We take pride in brewing award-winning craft beer and creating thoughtfully prepared food, both delivered by a warm and knowledgeable staff. Farm4Fun w/ Royce Johns featuring Backpocket Brewing, LIVE Music, Making Money from Music, COVID Fines, and More!
www.roycejohns.comMost artists pay somebody to write a long, inflated, flashy bio about themselves, but I thought I’d just give it to you straight. My name is Royce John Schwienebart, or otherwise known as Royce Johns. I’m a husband, guitar picker, and singer. I’ve also written some songs on my first EP, but after coming to Nashville and really learning how a great song is written, I’d hate to call myself a songwriter just yet. But I’m slowly learning.I was born on June 22, 1995, in Des Moines, Iowa. I lived in Polk City for twelve years, moved to Pennsylvania for three, then moved back to Iowa in 2008 and have lived here since. I don’t think I could’ve been dealt a better hand when it comes to family, my parents, grandparents, and extended family. When most of my friends were into pop radio, I was sinking my teeth into AC/DC, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, and all the classic rock from the ’60s-’80s. I really didn’t have much musically in common with most people my age, and always kinda liked it that way. When I was 13-14, I would sit in my bedroom for hours at a time, just trying to learn the intro licks to “Purple Haze” and “Thunderstruck”. I never played in band or choir, so all my learning basically has been informal and by ear.I worked a bunch of odd jobs to pay my way through high school into community college. From car washes to restaurants, retail, warehouse work, car sales, direct sales, and even auto wholesale. It wasn’t until I was 19 that I took my guitar out of my bedroom and into the streets of Ames, Iowa.I started busking with the 5 songs I knew how to play, and soon found other musicians that were playing on the streets. From that, I just wanted to play every open jam that I could find, just to get into playing music. I eventually found some other guys that have been playing music for many decades that taught me about playing bar gigs. I just wanted to play guitar, but drawing the short stick in the group, I was left up to be the singer as well. That band became Lincoln Rockhouse and was a starting point for my music career.I’ve always been around country music with my parents and grandparents, but it didn’t really hit me until I was finishing up my time playing with my cover band Lincoln Rockhouse. Soon after, I started to find my love for the stories of Merle Haggard, Randy Travis, Keith Whitley, Waylon Jennings, Buck Owens, George Strait, Ernest Tubb, and most other popular country artists from the ’50s-’90s. BACKPOCKET BREWING COMPANY903 QUARRY RD, CORALVILLE, IA, 52241319-449-3700 | [email protected] The truth is you can tell a lot about a man by what he keeps in his back pocket - a useful pocketknife, a lucky coin, a worn out photo from an old love that has never died. Whatever it is, even if it wound up there by accident, there's a story behind it. A story that probably won't come out until you are in the right place, talking to the right people, with the right beer in hand.Located in the Iowa River Landing in the beautiful Coralville, Iowa, we are German inspired and hand crafted. There's a Backpocket beer perfect for every person, every occasion and, most importantly, every story. SlingshotDunkel LagerWhat’s not to love about Dunkels? Rich and malty with a balanced sweetness, this easy-drinking lager is a year-round favorite. With a nutty, bready aroma, all hop characteristics are mellowed out to create a smooth, drinkable beer. Gold CoinBlonde LagerLight, simple and drinkable, this golden blonde lager was one of our first beers, and it’s stuck around for good reason. It’s crisp, refreshing and simply delicious. MurderhornBelgian Golden AleEven before your first sip, the nose of this Belgian golden ale packs a punch. Dominated by yeast fruit notes, all hop aromas are buried under a balanced flavor and aroma. The dry finish with a touch of boozy heat, rounds out this golden ale. RaygunIPAWe’ve created this juice bomb of an ipa, graciously hopped with citra and mosaic hops to give a tropical aroma and bold citrus flavor. Gary approved. HawktoberfestMarzen LagerWhat more needs to be said. Fall, tailgating and the smooth malt of oktoberfest-style beer just make sense together. When the season hits, fill your fridge and coolers and enjoy the wonders of Fall in the Hawkeye state. We promise Hawktoberfest will pair perfectly with all of it.

He is married to his wife Jessica, and together they have daughter Anushri and sons Seth and Ethan. Farming was his passion for the first 36 years of my life, but in 2013 some amazing things happened that convinced him that God wanted him in ministry. In May 2016, I graduated from Midwestern Baptist College with an Associate's degree in Worship Ministries.@benhaminaustic – Pastor Ben, CCAReligion can form a very strong network of support, how can a sense of community help in a situation such as the Derecho?Religious communities in general - I’m going to say, particularly the Christian church - is unique in all the world. Where else will you find a group of people called to self-sacrificial love, modeled after Christ- Who laid down His very own perfect life for the benefit of sinners… for the benefit of His enemies!Even if they do this poorly, you won’t find this out in the world! The writer of Hebrews tells the reader to gather together to stimulate one another to love and good deeds and to encourage one another. The early church in Acts - in the face of a hostile culture and government - shared everything, even through severe persecution. They were joyful! We all remember 1 For 13 - the love chapter, love is patient, love is kind, long-suffering, doesn’t boast, etc. But have you considered that 1 Cor 13 follows 1 Cor 12? And what is in 12? Paul is telling the church that EVERYONE has gifts, and they’re all needed like parts of a body. He’s talking to a dysfunctional church, by the way. He’s saying, none is more important than another, but all are needed. So how do you bring this diversity of people together from chapter 12? Love. Chapter 13. If I speak with tongues of men and angels, but don’t have love? I’m just noise. Even if I give away all my possessions, if I don’t have love I don’t gain a thing. So, to summarize and bring this back around. How can a religious community help? These are the people that will love you and you will love. These are people to serve and be served by.In hard times, the only thing as powerful as being served… is serving others. And serving one another in view of how Christ served? It’s the ultimate loving community. No room for pride, but there’s room for everyone. If you haven’t found this to be true, go out and find this community. It’s out there. We’re out here. And we have room for you. These are the people that will pray for you and love you.o If our listener is feeling pretty bad, down and out, lost, etc….do you have any hope you can provide them?First off, you don’t hope for something you already have. You only hope when you’re in need. So, hope only exists in need. If you’re in need, then there’s hope!Hope is so human! Every good story has a crisis in the plot. Then somewhere from the doubt and despair, hope emerges! Hope floats, as they say. The greater the crisis, the greater the hope, the greater the victory. If hope requires a crisis… if it exists in need, don’t diminish the crisis, don’t downplay the need. Don’t numb or dull the pain. Embrace the crisis.§ What does it mean to have hope?Hope is celebrating the trials, knowing that they bring perseverance, which brings proven character, which brings more hope. (Romans 5:3) From a Christian point of view, if God was able to raise Christ from the dead… if His promises of future glory are true, how can hope disappoint? He not only gave the example of Christ persevering, He gave assurance of that reality through resurrection! Death, sickness, my own failure, and certainly not a derecho can stop that kind of hope! What is this life? It’s just a proving ground! We recognize it’s a mess here. It’s been that way from the beginning. Sometimes it seems unfair (Job). Sometimes it just seems hopeless. Mankind has been in this difficult situation for all his existence, but there’s hope! And it’s beautiful! The wildflowers and crops grow on the cow turds and decaying plants.§ Any key verses to remember to help power through harvest?I have two.My favorite is from Job 5:7. Job has lost everything and he’s sad and angry, sitting in the ashes of his estate full of sores. His terrible friends come to sit with him and make him feel better, but they just keep telling Job he must have done something terrible to deserve all this. And his friend Eliphaz says, “For man is born for trouble as sparks fly upward.” No truer words were ever spoken. Hey, life is hard. As sure as the sparks fly up from a fire, man is born for trouble. The second came from my senior pastor. Galatians 6:9 - Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.Put them together - Life is hard, but don’t lose heart in doing good. We’ll harvest in due time if we don’t grow weary.o What are some good resources for those in need through the church in general? The greatest resource I can recommend is just any old friend. Start reaching out. Find a friend. Search #agtwitter and start following people. My friend, Kyle Samp at @mocornfarmer is a great follow. Sow Hope and Hank Wade are others. Seriously, I have found the best little community here on Twitter. Follow me or just send me a message at benjamin austic. The second, of course, is a local church. If it’s truly doing what the church was put here to do, then it is the community that God has designed to provide for all your needs. I serve in a Southern Baptist Church, but any denomination has resources.Third, if you’re not interested or you’re hesitant to look here, if it comes to suicidal thoughts, the suicide hotline is (800) 273-8255. Don’t wait. There’s hope, you may not believe it but you can get to the place where you can. Persevere. Keep moving forward. Don’t let suicide be the end of your story.o What could you say to the person who doesn’t think this is them or doesn’t think the religious community can help?If the objection is previous hurt:I’ve said before, and I’ll say again… if all of the people who have been hurt by church, showed up at church on a given Sunday, we couldn’t hold all the people. I understand. But the church of Jesus is a place that is healing, not hurting. Opening up to people makes you vulnerable, but it’s necessary. Don’t lose heart!Being disconnected from a body leads to death. Cut off your finger and see how long it lives! You’re the same way. You need to be connected in order to maintain a faith. You need the blood that pumps through the rest of the body. They need you, as well.o What can we do to help others who are battling all forms of stress and anxiety?Ask people. Don’t be afraid of the weird question- are you doing okay? You’ll be shocked at how many people around you want to be asked that question. Also, don’t be afraid to ask how you can be praying for someone.Be sensitive. Hurting people can be prickly. They may lash out. Be kind. You don’t have to respond to everything. Love is patient and kind. It doesn’t respond in anger. Be understanding. You’re not a doormat when you do this, you’re showing them a kindness— one that we’ve all been shown.
