S2: E22 Treasure Your Reality

S2: E22 Treasure Your Reality

We started the year knowing that it was going to be phenomenal. We were so excited for what 2020, the year of Perfect Vision, was going to mean for us and our family. And, then COVID hit us and put a halt on a lot of our dreams for the year. Now, our reality isn't as what we pictured 2020 to be. BUT, that doesn't mean we can't embrace our current reality.  In today's episode, Latika talks to you about embracing your reality even in the midst of a pandemic. For years, many of us have fought the mom guilt of not spending quality time with our children; or not having enough time to nurture the relationship with our husbands. But, now that we are at home, we have more time than ever to treasure our reality. We have more time to teach our children lessons and be creative in having fun with them. We have more time to spend with our husbands and prioritize self-care. Below are some questions to ask yourself:  How am I using my time to have fun with my kids? How am I embracing my marriage?  How am I using the extra time I have to take care of myself? It is no doubt that we are in a middle of a global crisis, but think about this: God has allowed ALL families to be together during this time. What better way to honor Him and His blessings by treasuring the time we have together (that we won't have again) and truly spending quality time together. What will be your Tabitha moment? From today's episode, how will you change how you are using your time?  Download the Boss Moms Can Have It All Ebook HERE. Register to attend our LIVE Podcast on Friday, September 4. One of the things that many working moms are struggling with is overwhelm. And, it can be overwhelming.  In today's episode, Latika shares three ways you can overcome the overwhelm. She shares: First 15 Matters - the first 15 minutes of your day set your day up for success Gain Support - working moms must have emotional, physical, and spiritual support to be successful  Do Less - we must be able to create a SYSTEM that allows us to save stress, time, energy, and money What will be your Tabitha moment? Tabitha is a woman in the Bible who was very meek and did everything for everyone, just like working moms. But, one day she died. Have you become like Tabitha and been emotionally week, physically week, or spiritually sick? Because of Tabitha's good works, she was raised back to life and continued to serve people, but now she has renewed strength. How will you use the information in this episode to ensure you can overcome the overwhelm? How will you use the information in today's episode to regain emotional, physical, and spiritual strength? S2: E20 Know Your Numbers

S2: E20 Know Your Numbers

Do you know how much money you are spending to pay bills? Or do you know how much money you are saving being at home during COVID-19? Do you know your numbers? It is important that we approach planning and knowing our finances in a new way.  Allison "Allie" Greenberg, a Financial Advisor/Representative, shares her expertise in helping families achieve their financial goals. She believes that anything is possible with the right planning. It is important to know the following:  your numbers (know how much you spend on bills, etc...) savings is your power (save for potential furloughs, job loss, emergencies, etc...) invest and don't be your own stock broker plan your finances when your children are infants Allie's main giveaway to all working moms is, "You have to know where you are spending your money, so you know where you are going." S2: E19 Taking Care of Our Bodies

S2: E19 Taking Care of Our Bodies

How many notices have you received from your OBGYN or Primary Care reminding you to make an appointment for an annual check-up? Have you ignored those notices? Have you ignored those phone calls and/or text messages?  Christina Perez shares great insight as to why it is vital for us to pay attention to those notices, make our appointments, and be an advocate for our own health. In today's episode, Christina emphasizes on the need for working moms to make our health our priority. She shares that one of the first steps in prioritizing our health is having a doctor that we can trust and have a relationship with. Additionally, she expounds on the fact that our well exams are covered by insurance, so there should be no excuse as to why we should not go to our appointments.  Christina also gives insight on why we should have a primary and OBGYN doctor. She left us with three main points: 1) go to your appointments (make them and stick with them); 2) go to your follow-up appointments (regardless if they are scary or not); and 3) put your appointments in your phone (so you can keep track of them and be reminded of them).  We are paying for health insurance and we need to take advantage of it! S1 E3: What is your Work & Life Balance?

In today's episode, Latika asks what balance looks like for you. With balance being defined as an even distribution of weight enabling someone or something to remain upright or steady; Latika equates work and life balance for working moms to a juggler. Latika describes how a juggler must juggle three or more things in their hand to entertain the audience. Just like a juggler, working moms have to juggle motherhood, marriage, and career, oh and themselves. And, sometimes it may feel like it will fall apart. Without balance, working moms will experience stress, burnout, frustration, and so many other negative things, which affects family life, their own health, job satisfaction, cluttered mind, and the list goes on.  Latika shares the first step to having work and life balance, which is having the Boss Mom Foundation. The foundation that is needed to achieve the balance a working mom needs to have a satisfying marriage, great motherhood experience, and rewarding career; the foundation she created and used after she was diagnosed with Post Partum Depression. Latika discusses her e-book, Boss Moms Can Have it All, where she shares what the foundation consists of, which are the three pillars of success: Being Self-Aware Performing Smart Work Being Strategic Using the three pillars of success in the Boss Mom foundation can help working moms take the first step in getting started with achieving work and life balance. S1 E2: What is Your Anchor?

S1 E2: What is Your Anchor?

In today's episode, Latika asks the question: What is your anchor? For so many of us, our life is like a boat - a cruise ship. We have so much that is piled on and in us, that sometimes it could cause us to sink or sway in the water. But, when we have our boat anchored to a strong foundation, we rise and stay afloat. Today, Latika encourages you to develop your anchor, which is your relationship with God. You must have a strong relationship with God, the one who knows the number of hairs on your head, the one that created you in His own image. He is the only one who can keep you afloat when the obstacles of life attempt to knock you down. She shares three valuable things:  What your anchor should consist of How to develop it How to use it In order for you to lead and grow your career and live a balanced lifestyle, you must have a strong foundation - anchor, which is your relationship with God. Have you ever been asked, who are you? Or what defines you? As a working mom, we have many roles that we juggle. We are wives, maids, cooks, community members, drivers, and the list goes on. But, who are you? Who is the woman who serves in these many roles? In today's episode, I share who I am, after having that question asked to me. I truly encourage you to look in the mirror and ask God who you are. From there, you know where your destiny will lead you. As mentioned in the show, you can manually take a self-discovery assessment to learn who you are. There are also a lot of free assessments that you can take when you research on google. Thank you for joining the show. May you discover who the woman of many roles is. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/empoweringtheworkingmom/support
