EP.28: Dietitian vs Coach
There's been a lot of talk lately about whether it's okay for a dietitian to call herself a coach or health coach. As someone who's been coaching since the beginning of my career as an RD, I have a slightly different perspective on this. In today’s episode, I share my views on coaching with hopes to bring even more awareness to a set of skills I use effectively in my career as a dietitian. WHAT YOU’LL LEARN IN THIS EPISODE The coaching skills and standards that are required to be an effective coach. Why you would want to be trained in coaching before adding the term behind your credentials. Whether or not someone can actually coach from their own life experiences. How the coaching standard and skills directly relate back to what we do for our clients and how honing these skills can be beneficial to the dietetics profession as a whole. EP.27: Raising Your Rates
In order to make more money as an RD entrepreneur, you'll need to get comfortable with raising your rates to match the value of the services you provide. In today's episode, I share how you can overcome the resistance to raising your rates and get paid what your services are worth. WHAT YOU’LL LEARN IN THIS EPISODE Why it's important to learn how to effectively communicate the value of what you do before you can raise your rates. EP.26: Crowdsourcing Rates
How often do you ask colleagues and friends what THEY think you should charge for a particular project or service? As a business owner, this is not a good practice, even if you have the best intentions at heart So what do you do instead? Today, I’m sharing with you why crowdsourcing is bad and exactly how you can determine what to charge own your own. WHAT YOU’LL LEARN IN THIS EPISODE Why crowdsourcing your rates is a very bad idea. How mindset ties into this for YOU and those you're crowdsourcing with. Why "the going rate" for products and services doesn't mean anything, IMO. Money and math...the 2 things that most RD's shun the most, especially in their businesses. WHAT YOU’LL LEARN IN THIS EPISODE My story of going from understanding a health consequence, in theory, to actually knowing it through real-life experience. Why I don't think it's a good idea to teach something just based on theory (this is why we're required to have an internship experience, y'all). Why you shouldn't charge premium rates if you're not yet confident in your ability to provide the results to match My opinion on mindset work and why not everyone should be teaching it without having the theoretical understanding of the science and personal transformation of there own to back it up.
