Tripp and Andrew Laino
Tripp and Andrew Laino have been watching movies together since 1992, and making fun of them together since 1999, when a rainy afternoon of babysitting turned into 8 hours of cheesy science fiction and jokes. Raised on a strict diet of 80s movies, the pair have an undying love for the decade and all of the weird, wonderful cinema therein, despite barely being there for it. Every other week (since 2014) they dissect a movie and the bizarre cinema quirks of 30-odd years ago.

#156 Gymkata
Turns out we're not the only ones with Olympians-in-movies ideas: someone paid a buncha money to make Gymkata!
This delightfully cheesy (both literally and figuratively) movie stars Olympian Kurt Thomas as Johnathan Cabot, the master of gymnastic karate: GYMKATA! This movie has EVERYTHING: so many dummy falls! Absurd dialog! Over-the-top action! An inexplicable leaf-crunching training montage!

#155 Valley Girl
NOTE: TRIPP SCREWED UP HIS MIC SETTINGS, AND OBVIOUSLY THE SOUND ISN'T UP TO PAR ON THIS EPISODE. WE'RE SORRY!
It's the movie our mom has been begging for for six years, and with a terrible-looking remake about to drop: Valley Girl!
How dreamy is Nic Cage in this flick? Is there ANY plot here? Couldn't they figure out a more Romeo-like name for Nic than Randy? Plus, digressions on the ideal food fight foods and the sorely-missing number of adventure films!

#154 Class of Nuke 'Em High
Just in time for the "high holidays", we rode back for the Troma classic: Class of Nuke 'Em High!
We discuss our histories with Troma, swap stories of visiting the principals office, and are thoroughly confused throughout! So many Alka-Seltzer tabs, buckwild effects and a shockingly great monster!

#153 Never Say Never Again
80s. Dissecting...the 80s.
Coronavirus may have delayed Daniel Craig's latest Bond outing, but it hasn't delayed our second visit to the Bond-iverse. We're breaking down the oddity of Never Say Never Again, the Bond movie outside the canon of the regular films, and Connery's return to the role. Waterskiing, the secret life of Jake the Snake's Snake, why isn't her name Viper? Is Connery too old for this?

#152 When Time Ran Out
We hopped in with legendary disaster artist Irwin Allen for his volcano epic: When Time Ran Out...
Why does this bridge sequence run for TWENTY MINUTES? So many gorgeous matte paintings, actors covered in mysterious substances, scenes that run for 65 seconds, soap opera nonsense and so many disjointed scenes!
Plus, Randy Newman's long-lost attempts at theme songs for this film, a digression on Universal Studios circa 1995, and Poseidon Adventure talk!

#151 Used Cars
This podcast right here? Low mileage, just ONE previous owner - hop on in and take it for a listen!
We're celebrating a 40th anniversary with our long-time pod-friend Kurt Russell in Used Cars! Is this peak Kurt Russell? How leisure-ey are his leisure suits? Plus, a long digression on a children's safety video that starred Joe Flaherty and was directed by Re-Animator's Stuart Gordon!

#149 Ready to Rumble
Leap Day's Curse has struck again, driving us all the way to the year TWO THOUSAND for Ready to Rumble!
Is wrestling real or scripted, because this movie sure doesn't know! Why does Scott Caan always show his butt? Why is there SO MUCH POOP in this movie? Why doesn't it get into the insanity of wrestling?! Why isn't there more Martin Landau? ARE WE DOING SHE'S ALL THAT?!
