Because the world is in opposition to the Word of God we should not be surprised when politicians make laws that go against God's Word. When we make mistakes we have to be courageous enough to let them go. Maybe you started a business you should not have, perhaps you said 'yes' to a project that is out of alignment with your calling, or you hired (or partnered with) someone you should not have. In the 2020 election believers are voting very differently and are very passionate about their candidate. Each side believes their candidate is God's choice to lead now or is better than the other. Thus, part of the Body of Christ will be upset with the results of the election. There will be celebrations and I told you so’s. Knowing what you are called to do is just the first step to success. Once you are clear about your calling, the next question to clarify is, "how has God gifted you to function in your calling?" Do you function as a deep thinker, someone who get things done quickly, someone who thrives under pressure, etc. God can give two people the same calling, but those callings are implemented differently because God gifted them to function differently. God has given every human the ability to have faith. Some use this ability to have faith that their education will land them a high paying job. Others have faith that medical doctors can repair something broken in their body. However, they might discover that faith in their education, doctors, etc., does not gain them the desired results. The answer to the question “who are you” holds the key to your inner peace and success. However, many believers have placed their identity in what they do instead of who they are. If you ask most Christians why they want success in business, they’ll say something like, “to make a lot of money, so I can extend the Kingdom of God.” This is a noble motivation, but most Christians who say this are lying to themselves, because they believe God would not approve of their true motive. Here’s the problem: when you lie to yourself about why you want success, you won’t be successful. Success is built on true motives. And guess what, if your true motive is to make a lot of money to have an enjoyable life for you and your family, God is cool with that. God may have you quit your current job, but instead of leading you straight into entrepreneurship, He may have you get a transitional job. The transitional job is for you to build up your faith, so when you step into your entrepreneurial calling you have the required faith to succeed. The next step in your calling will move you forward in a mighty way. However, don't take that step until your faith is ready for it. When it comes to faith, we can not fake it until we make it. There is a big question among believers about following the Law from the old convent verses not following it because we are now under Grace. After researching the scriptures, I am comfortable saying that as new testament believers, we are under Grace, not Law. However, does this mean we can do anything we want? Well, no. When God called you, He knew that you would not perfectly implement the vision. He called you because He knows that you will listen to his corrections when needed. Believers will often say, "If God wants me to go this way, then He will open a door of opportunity," or, "this door closed because God has something better for me." God can open and close doors of opportunity, but the state of the door (aka opportunity) doesn't indicate the will of God for your life. I have advised many believers who are called to be a coach in various fields. From my experience working with them, I have discovered one of the major reasons they are struggling in their coaching business. The reason is they have not picked a side. God’s words in the Bible are powerless if they are not planted and watered in our heart. For example, an apple seed is useless until it is planted in the ground and watered properly with rain, then it can produce an apple tree. In the same way, God’s words are seeds that need to be planted and watered in the ground of our heart. Once planted and watered, the word-seed’s harvest is faith. Links: Subscribe, Partner

Even if God called us to do it, success is not automatic. If we are disobedient in the implementation steps, then success will stay far from us. We all make mistakes, but disobedience is a choice to go in a different direction than what God has called us to do or a choice to not course-correct when we discover we are wrong. Have you ever experienced a major business or life failure? Or perhaps you were told because of your color, gender, or hometown you couldn't succeed. If so, you may have negative associations resulting from that experience, which is affecting your current decision-making.
