Let's respond with grace, even when others don't : Wake & Bacon

As we start this Thanksgiving week, it is inevitable that the world around us at times will not be responding with grace. From the Thanksgiving dinner table with relatives and friends who might be talking about politics or COVID to people going crazy over Black Friday sales.Don’t allow the words and actions of others negatively effect who you are.Be the better person.Be graceful. We all get to choose how we respond in every situation.Even when someone does something negative or hurtful to us.Respond with grace.Because you don’t have to be like everyone else. You don’t have to fall into that trap.Because that’s not going to help you get to where you want to go.But being a more graceful person will. - In each episode of The Sports Marketing Huddle, Rob Cressy, Founder of Bacon Sports, gives a forward-thinking perspective on the world of sports, marketing, entrepreneurship, and personal development and then gives actionable advice on how you can implement it into your business. Our goal of the podcast is to create the best sports marketing podcast and take The Sports Marketing Huddle up to #1 on the podcast charts. Is this the home stretch or are you just getting started? Wake & Bacon

Is this the home stretch or are you just getting started? Wake & Bacon

It’s the start of November and we can see the finish line on 2020. For many this is the home stretch. On the horizon are holidays and easier times. A time to slow down, relax, and look forward to the calendar turning to 2021. Certainly next year has to be better than this one, right? For others, like myself, we are just getting started. Our finish line isn’t measured by the calendar year. We don’t wait for change to happen. We also know that when others slow down it’s a great opportunity for us to speed up. Because that’s how you separate yourself from the competition. That’s also how you build momentum. What To Do When You Don't Know What To Do: Wake & Bacon

What To Do When You Don't Know What To Do: Wake & Bacon

On my mind today is what to do when you don’t know what to do. This is something I am feeling this exact second. My morning was busier and because of it I am not getting around to doing this until 11:30 am. I didn’t have a script written. I had 10 things on my power list I’d still like to accomplish. But I am committed to doing this so you know what I did. I turned on my microphone. That was the first step. That action gets the momentum going. Then like I often do, I decided to turn what I am currently feeling or experiencing into the lesson for the day. Take action on something. Anything. It’s better than doing nothing. While I certainly have a standard and expectation for myself, I am choosing to exercise self love and focus on the future.I can't do anything about the videos I didn't create last week. What I can do is focus on making it better moving forward. When it comes to what time I wake up, chalk it up to the game. It's not always going to be this way. So often we make ourselves feel guilty or bad because of something we didn't do. This makes no sense because why would we ever make ourselves feel a way that doesn't serve us.My challenge for you is to practice more self love and focus on the future. Don't worry about the past.273935

What If 2020 Was The Best Year: Wake & Bacon

Imagine instead of being like everyone who says "2020 is the worst year" you were someone who said "2020 is the best year".What difference do you think that would make in your mindset, your actions, and every day life?I get it, 2020 hasn't been all puppy dogs and rainbows every single day.But guess what, is dwelling on what you don't have and how things are different going to get you closer or further away from happiness and what you want?Yes it's easier and more comfortable to jump on the 2020 Sucks bandwagon, but all that does is spreads and reinforces negativity. At the end of the day we all get to choose how we respond to every situation.Instead of "this sucks" why not focus on the single moment in front of you. What one thing can you do to make that moment good?Rinse and repeat.Happiness and success starts with your mindset.Fix your mind and all of a sudden you'll see unlimited possibilities, opportunities, and happiness. As a call to action, I'd love to hear something good that has happened for you in 2020. Giving & Receiving: Wake & Bacon

Giving & Receiving: Wake & Bacon

How aware are you of when you give and how you receive? This past weekend a friend sent me a video where he sent good vibes my way.As a response back to him I made sure to let him know that the good vibes were received. This is a very important part of the process as it is often overlooked. It can be difficult to be a good receiver. So often we don't want others to give to us as we'd rather do the giving.Maybe we say something like "thank you, but that wasn't necessary."However, for the same reason why we enjoy giving is the same reason why it is important to be a good receiver.Allow someone else to give the gift of giving. The best thing you can do to appreciate them for their generosity is to recognize and receive it.- In each episode of The Sports Marketing Huddle, Rob Cressy, Founder of Bacon Sports, gives a forward-thinking perspective on the world of sports, marketing, entrepreneurship, and personal development and then gives actionable advice on how you can implement it into your business. Our goal of the podcast is to create the best sports marketing podcast and take The Sports Marketing Huddle up to #1 on the podcast charts. What Advice Would I Give My College Self?

What Advice Would I Give My College Self?

Yesterday I came across a picture from when I was in college. It got me thinking. What advice would I give my college self? It would be to learn things that I enjoy doing sooner. When I adopted a growth mindset my whole world changed.I became hungry to learn everything I could about the things I wanted to do.I had no experience in podcasting, video, graphic design, editing, or hosting a show so I taught myself.College Rob didn’t do that.I crammed for tests and didn’t like to read.Had I done so I would have followed my passions sooner. When you realize you can teach yourself anything you want then the world becomes your canvas.I’d love to hear one piece of advice you’d give your younger self. EP-387 Phase 3 of Live Hard: The Ultimate Test

EP-387 Phase 3 of Live Hard: The Ultimate Test

Andy Frisella’s Live Hard program is a game changing mental toughness program designed to turn you into the best version of yourself. In this fourth of a five part podcast series, Rob Cressy is joined by his friend and accountability partner Brendan Pettit as they share their Phase 3 of Live Hard experience.Phase 3 builds off of the lessons learned and dues paid during 75 Hard, Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the program. It is also the final phase of the Live Hard program. Finish it and we complete it. What made this phase unique is that it had to be accomplished exactly 30 days before the 1 year mark of starting the Live Hard program. That just so happened to align with the start of the Coronavirus. Nothing like layering on a mental toughness program on top of a global pandemic. What was their mindset like for this final 30 day phase compared to the previous ones? How did they go about meeting one new person a day and doing a random act of kindness? What were the biggest challenges they had to overcome? In what areas was the quarantine actually a good thing? What new habits or routines were introduced? What was it like when they completed Phase 3 and were officially done with the Live Hard program? If you are interested in becoming the best version of yourself then this episode will share the habits, routines, and lessons learned from our Phase 3 of Live Hard experience.
