Two-Headed Calf - Wasteland, literature-inspired songwriting and female-fronted bands
Two-Headed Calf’s single Wasteland, released on March 22 this year, accompanied me on a wonderful drive around its release time. An ambient synths-rock song perfect for your nightly journaling session. This April, Sarah and Katie, Two-Headed Calf, got together with me to discuss how the song came together, what it means and how it suits the Glasgow-based band’s experience of living in the city. We as well touched upon the topic of how it is to be in a female-fronted band and how male-dominated the music industry still is to this day, yes, we discussed how all boys think as soon as they have a band that they’re the next Beatles lol (no hate to John, George, Ringo and Paul - we love those boys!). Two-Headed Calf are coming back with new music (which we also discussed at the end) and exciting gigs early next year - stay tuned for that!Instagram: @twoheadedcalf__TikTok: @twoheadedcalf__There had some line-up changes since our interview, so if you hear a mention of Callum, he’s no longer in the band.Watch a clip of this interview here.Bonnie’s writing on cowboys and how the past can haunt us is available on thecrylounge.com (her books + zinepaper) 🎀 Her online diary is howdybonnie.substack.com & 🤠Enjoyed listening to this episode?
