The Mystery of the Incarnation, and Q&A
On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (12/12/22), Hank shares his thoughts on the incredible mystery of the incarnation of Jesus Christ. It’s common for skeptics to think Christians are irrational to believe in what they cannot see, but in reality, it is irrational for skeptics to suppose that what they cannot see doesn’t exist. Christians and skeptics alike believe in black holes, electrons, and the force of gravity despite the fact that these are all unseen. As Paul says in Romans chapter 1, God’s invisible qualities, eternal power, and divine nature have been clearly seen through what has been made. In other words, the order and complexity of the universe testify to the existence of an uncaused First Cause. Jesus is the image of the invisible God. And as such, the incarnation is the supreme act of God’s self-revelation. In the incarnation of Christ, His kenosis (emptying) makes our theosis (divinization) possible. Jesus came not only to save us by His death, but so that we might have life, and have it more abundantly.Hank also answers the following questions:Are we judged when we die or at the resurrection? If we have free will, how can we explain that everything is part of God’s plan? Does God really have a plan? When do you think the Day of the Lord will occur? After a difficult church split, I’m struggling in my faith; do you have any advice? When I read the Bible, I don’t find all the Christmas traditions we have today. If the Lord wanted us to celebrate His birth, wouldn’t He have given us the exact day?How should Christians view alcohol?

Celebrating Thanksgiving as a Daily Manner of Life
On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (11/24/22), Hank encourages all that are listening in to enjoy their time on Thanksgiving Day with family and friends to the extent that they can. Thanksgiving is a day that Hank looks forward to every year. Yet Thanksgiving is not just a day; it is a daily manner of life. It is a key that opens the gate of Christ and allows Christians to enter and gain access to all His wonderful provisions and even more profoundly into all the splendor of His Being. “Open for me the gates of the righteous,” wrote the Psalmist, “and I will enter and give thanks to the Lord. I will give you thanks, for you answered me; you have become my salvation.” In the Wisdom of Solomon, we read that “the hope of an unthankful man will melt like the wintry frost and flow away like useless water.” Thus, we are exhorted to arise each morning and thank our heavenly Father for the abundance of His mercies, for the blessing of the Lord will melt like ice—evaporate like worthless water—at the appearance of the first rays of sunshine.

Veterans Day 2022
On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (11/11/22), Hank reminds listeners that today is a special day; today is Veterans Day. A day in which Americans honor those that have served in the United States Armed Forces. Today was not always known as Veterans Day, it originated in 1919 as Armistice Day, a day that commemorates “the war to end all wars”—or so it was thought by President Woodrow Wilson. Armistice Day was formally changed to Veterans Day in 1954—and for good reason. World War I was not “the war to end all wars.” World War II followed closely on its heels, and the twentieth century would become the bloodiest in human history. We have come to realize that the very notion of world peace—the idea behind Armistice Day—will never be realized until the Prince of Peace returns to the planet. Only then will world peace be inaugurated. In the meantime, we rightly celebrate Veterans Day. For there will always be veterans, just as there will always be wars. Which begs the question that Hank wants to address on today’s broadcast: under what conditions is war justified?

Best of BAM: The Amazing Fine-Tuning of the Universe, and Q&A
On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank remarks on the amazing fine-tuning of the universe. One of the most astonishing discoveries of the 20th century was that the universe was fine-tuned to support intelligent life. From the force of gravity to the balance of matter and antimatter, the universe is poised on a razor’s edge. If gravity were slightly stronger or weaker the universe would not be able to support intelligent life. The fine-tuning of the universe cannot reasonably be attributed to chance because of the infinitesimally small range of values involved. Chance is infinitely more likely to produce a life-prohibiting universe than a life-sustaining one. The only plausible source of fine-tuning is an external, transcendent, incalculably powerful, and intelligent personal Mind whom we call God.Hank also answers the following questions:When the Lord appeared in the Old Testament, what does that mean and what did that look like?My fifteen-year-old son is being asked to read a book that has profanity and anti-Christian themes.
