Beer Prime - Episode 74 - 3rd Birthday episode
Episode 74: 3rd Birthday episode |
Sadly my brewery guest was unable to record, so I thought I'd publish a Zoom link on Twitter and invite anybody along who'd like to chat about beer. Perhaps not the cleverest idea - that attracted a few "mooners" and somebody who was just about to say something awful before I managed to boot them out.
On the good side though, Elusive Brewery's main man, Andy Parker, took pity on me and joined the call to save the day! So I had a great chat with Andy - not just about his brewery and beers, but also other topics in beer. Plus, later in the call we are joined by Chris, who thankfully wanted to talk beer too!
I'll be taking a summer break and Beer Prime will be back in September.
In the meantime, I will be putting out a series of short episodes, each about an Iconic Beer.

Episode 68: Indie Rabble Brewing Co |
In the latest Beer Prime episode, I welcome Dave Hayward who is the co-owner of Indie Rabble, the brewery so new that they haven't even moved into their brewery yet, or have a brew kit! Find out about everything they are doing pre-start up and what is in store for us beer fans once they are up and running.
If you would like to let me know your thoughts on the podcast or to talk about anything else beer related, you can leave me a message on my new Speakpipe account right HERE. Just like Ivan, who messaged me to tell me what beers he likes to drink at this time of year.

Beer Prime - Episode 67 - Moonwake Beer Co
Episode 67 - Moonwake Beer Co |
In this episode I speak with Sarah Sinclair and Vinny Rosario from Moonwake Beer Co. Established in 2021, they are part of the burgeoning Leith beer scene. Join us for chat about starting up in the middle of the pandemic, the long wait for their brew kit - which could have been much longer - and why they prefer to name their beers for the style and not with an elaborate "in-joke" name. Plus much more of course!

Beer Prime - Episode 65 - Homebrewer Special at Hop Stop with Middle Child
Episode 65: Homebrewer Special at Hop Stop with Middle Child |
Recorded LIVE at Hop Stop in Reigate with special guest Fraser Withers from Middle Child Brewery, this is the Homebrewer Special!
Four Homebrewers brought along their beers to be tasted and judged, as well as receive some advice from a pro brewer who was a Homebrewer himself just a couple of years ago.
** The audio in the live recording is not up to the quality that I had hoped for or expected. I had purchased a new mic for this event and was disappointed with it's performance, so apologies for the sound. It's not unlistenable, so perhaps I'm just being hyper critical **
In the episode, I promised the link to the EVAW Coalition's petition for the Online Safety Bill. Click here for the petition.

-----
In this episode I talk with Tom Fozard, Commercial Director of Harrogate's Rooster's Brewing Co, who are celebrating their 30th Anniversary this year.

The news section covers stories about Unity Brewing Co, Indie Rabble Brewing Co, Nirvana Brewery and Pete Brown's article about Madri. I also talk a little about a trip to Colchester to drink at the Victoria Inn and Two Brews.

Beer Prime - Episode 62 - Elusive Brewing Janet's Brown
Episode 62: Elusive Brewing Janet's Brown
In this episode I speak with Andy Parker from Elusive Brewing and we focus heavily on one of their new beers - Janet's Brown - an American Brown Ale brewed in collaboration with US Homebrew legend Jamil Zainasheff. We cover the background to the beer and its recipe, how Andy and Jamil came to brew their version of it and the brew day itself, as well as taste the beer. Grab yourself a can of Janet's Brown and sit down to listen all about it, then crack it open when we do!
The news section features the latest from closing breweries, such as Dig Brew and Bad Seed; Exale's new Bethnal Green neighbourhood pub; and the Great Sausage Roll Off at the Red Lion in Barnes.
There's also a run-down of my recent visit to the Bermondsey Beer Mile featuring stops at The Kernel, Craft Beer Junction, Brew by Numbers, Bone Daddies, Cloudwater and Anspach & Hobday.
