emma chamberlain
emma prefers to share her thoughts with a microphone rather than a physical human being, so thank god she has a podcast. recorded from the comfort of her bed...and some other fun places, emma talks at length about whatever is on her mind every week. anything really does go on this podcast. sometimes philosophy, sometimes a random story from 10 years ago, sometimes advice, sometimes fun interviews, and sometimes nothing at all. you never know what you are going to get, but that’s what keeps it interesting. new episodes every thursday and sunday, video available only on spotify.

the ethics of anti-aging, i’m ranting again

the ethics of anti-aging, i’m ranting again

when you're young, birthdays are exciting because it means that you're unlocking new, adult activities. you're unlocking new mature responsibilities. this year, i turned 23 and realized that's over for me. depending on who you are, birthdays after a certain point can become even more exciting or even more daunting. personally, i'm pretty neutral. but i will say that it feels like societally we are afraid of aging. growing up, i saw endless anti-aging commercials - anti-aging facial moisturizers, anti-aging supplements, etc. we've grown up watching people cover up their aging, so i think it makes sense why societally some of us are afraid of it. i love cheugy stuff, i’m ranting again

the stanley cup has been a hot topic of conversation now for probably a few months. this cup has taken over the world, probably not the world, but at least america. but the stanley cup is not all sunshine and rainbows. as with all things that go mainstream, people now hate this cup, and what's been said about the stanley cup is that it's cheugy. cheugy is a slang term that describes someone or something as uncool, outdated, or lacking in style and originality. it can also mean someone who is out of touch with current trends or trying too hard to be trendy. and so today, i want to talk about all the things i love that are cheugy. botox, filler, and more, a talk with kristina kitsos [video]

[video available on spotify]  a couple of weeks ago, i made the decision that i was going to get laser hair removal, and i was referred to kristina kitsos. she's so incredibly knowledgeable about all of the popular treatments today, from botox, to filler, to anything you can imagine. kristina is a multi-specialty trained registered nurse with over 15 years of experience working in the field of minimally invasive aesthetic medicine. she's doing the botox and the filler. she's not doing the brazilian butt lift surgery - she's not a plastic surgeon. whether we like it or not, it's the beauty standard nowadays to have botox, to have filler, or to have a facelift. and i find myself constantly confused about where i stand on it. i think today's conversation is gonna help me come to a clearer conclusion and maybe you, too. so i'm very excited to introduce you to kristina kitsos. 2024 fashion trend predictions [video]

[video available on spotify] 2023 is almost over and in some ways thank god, and in some ways, oh no. i'm getting to the age where getting another year older is starting to become daunting. i don't want to think about how quickly time is moving, but i do still have the mental bandwidth to talk about fashion. so in honor of us approaching a new year, i thought i would predict some fashion trends for 2024. breakup advice (part 2: how to enjoy being single)

here we go, this is part two of breakup advice. this is about the equally challenging and arguably more complicated phase of the breakup. in some ways it's easier because you're through the thick of it. you've survived the first week or two after the breakup. but now you kind of have to get back to your life, and that's why it's complicated.  Learn more about your ad choices. breakup advice (part 1: feel the pain)

breakup advice (part 1: feel the pain)

breakups are almost an inevitable part of life. but despite how fucking awful they are, they can also be really transformative in a positive way. i've gone through a handful of breakups throughout my life, and i've learned a lot. so i'm going to be doing multiple episodes of breakup advice. this is episode one, where i'm going to be talking about the period before the breakup, the breakup itself, and the week or two following the breakup. hookup culture [video]

hookup culture [video]

[video available on spotify] i spent the last few years peacefully unbothered by hookup culture. why? because it was none of my business. i was in a relationship and hookup culture is for the singles. but it's back on my mind because these days i'm back to being a lone wolf. and with that comes hookup culture being relevant in my life. i wanted to reexamine the concept with a fresh lens. so, you know what? i dabbled a little bit, and i wanna share what i found because i came out of it with some solid conclusions. so let's discuss the pros and cons of casual hookups. social media stalking [video]

social media stalking [video]

[video available on spotify] listen. nobody wants to talk about this. i'm talking about it but i don't want to because it's mortifying. this is a behavior that we all participate in privately. maybe we discuss this with our closest friends, but there's something so deeply personal and private about this that i'm absolutely terrified to discuss it today. but, you know what? we're doing it… social media stalking. the art of being mysterious [video]

the art of being mysterious [video]

[video available on spotify] i feel like everyone falls into one of two categories. category number one, mysterious unknown category. number two, super open, super honest, super vulnerable. i personally fall into the second category. everyone knows so much about me. mysterious people are the opposite. they keep all of their information close to heart and they never find themselves in a place where they're like, oh my god, everyone knows so much about me. and i envy that. so today i wanted to sort of figure out whether or not i should try to be more mysterious. am i oversharing? [video]

quitting nicotine update (it’s not going well)

quitting nicotine update (it’s not going well)

i feel like i owe you an update on my nicotine quitting journey. last time you heard, i had gotten through the first few weeks of painful withdrawal filled with anxiety, depression, sleepless nights, too much sleeping, intense cravings, mood swings, et cetera. and i had switched over from using a vape to using nicotine pouches. but i have a really disappointing update for you; it's going terrible. in fact, i have a vape in my pocket right now. i'm not proud to tell you this. i don't know if it's healthy to feel ashamed because i guess i'm doing my best to quit and inspire others to quit, but i'm not leading by example very well right now. but i want to tell you how this happened so that we can both learn from it.  Learn more about your ad choices.
