Ep. 85 Trip Cancelled - How to Use "Supposed to" "Used to" - Learn English Through Stories
"Supposed to" and "used to" are some pretty odd ways that we use the past tense, and I offer many examples of how we used them in this short story I tell about how my wife and son's plans changed. Their trip to Alabama was canceled. Throughout the video I also explain a few more tricky aspects of the English language. I explain the difference between every few and every couple. How to use "fast forward" when telling a story. I describe how we use the plural form of brother-in-law. I explain how English speakers will use "reasonable when it comes to prices or paying for something. I also give a preview of the phrasal verb, "break in."

Ep. 74 JACKED UP and TWEAK AMERICAN SLANG MINI LESSON (Bonus the Latin and Greek Root PARA)
For this mini lesson, I wanted to take a look at how Americans use the slang terms, jacked up and tweaked. I actually used both terms last week when asking my son about his hurt leg. Thankfully, he only tweaked it. If you stick around until the end, I explain how learning Latin and Greek roots can increase your comprehension and give common words with the root, para.
