Enoughness (rebroadcast)
There are three beliefs that are at the foundation of work-life balance. I am enough. I am doing enough. I am good enough. These three beliefs make up the Enough Triad. When you believe you have done enough, you stop working late. When you feel like you are good enough, you stop needing to please everyone. And when you believe you are enough, you stop trying to prove yourself. At the core of all imbalanced behaviors is one of these three beliefs and in this episode, I'm going to talk about the inverse of each of them and how they create the foundation of an imbalanced life. In this rebroadcasted episode, I invite you to consider making “enoughness” your new year’s resolution. Topics in this episode:Why you need to feel enough in order to feel balanced3 common “not enough” thoughts that are causing imbalance Why you shouldn’t believe your “not enough” thoughtsHow practicing sufficiency can counter the feeling of not being enough How over-working is connected to feeling not enough 3 ways to practice your enoughness Show Notes: Want to learn the building blocks to creating a balanced life and join other working moms who are doing the same? Controlling Your To-Do List
The length of your to-do list is often a source of anxiety. When the to-do list is short you feel productive and good about yourself, but when the to-do list is long you feel inadequate and overwhelmed. But the length of your to-do list doesn't actually determine how you feel. It doesn't determine how accomplished you are. Your to-do list is neutral. When you create a balanced life, you have to feel in control of your to do's. In this episode we will dive into three ways to think about your to-do list so that you end the overwhelm cycle and start feeling in control of your to-do’s.Topics in this episode:Why you should ignore the length of your to-do listWhy your to do list isn’t the cause of overwhelm A productive way to view your to-do list3 shifts in how you think of your to-do list that will help you create balanceWhat it takes to normalize the length of your to-do’sWhy a long to do list can actually be a good thingShow Notes: Doors are open for the Ambitious and Balanced Working Mom Collective – Find out more information here: www.rebeccaolsoncoaching.com/collective

Oftentimes ambitious working moms struggle with being so present because we are doers and we go go go, so in this episode I want to breakdown exactly what being present means, the two most common things that take us away from being present and then give you 5 very practical strategies for becoming a present working mom. Have to vs. want to
A balanced life is a life of WANT-to. It’s a life that feels purposeful, motivating, fun and even easy. An unbalanced life is a life of HAVE-to. It’s a life that feels hard, forceful, and exhausting. Two women might have a very similar life with similar responsibilities but one will feel balanced because everything in their life feels like a choice – like a WANT-to and the other will feel imbalanced because they feel like they have no choice and they HAVE-to do the things they are doing. In this episode we are going to talk about the difference between a want-to and a have-to life and then explore the process of moving from have-to to want-to. Ready? Let’s get to it…Topics in this episode:Have-to’s and responsibilitiesHow to tell the difference between a have-to life and a want-to lifeHave-to and want-to comes down to motivationsHaving to work vs wanting to work 3 steps to moving from have-to to want-toShow Notes: Want to learn the building blocks to creating a balanced life and join other working moms who are doing the same? Failure and disappointing others
How would life be different if you were willing to fail and disappoint others? If you simply stopped avoiding it? Would you work less? Try to perfect less? Would you be more decisive? A balanced and successful life includes failures and disappointments. Our goal is not to avoid failure and disappoint, but it’s to build up a tolerance so we no longer avoid them. In this episode, we are going to talk all about failure & disappointment. What they mean, what our brains want us to think they mean and ultimately learn how to build up a tolerance to feel them. Stop Shoulding
In this podcast today I’m going to talk about a word we all use that is often the source of imbalance: SHOULD. Working moms have a bad habit of shoulding. This is when you say “I really should…” or “I should have …” Shoulding is a habit that only makes us feel bad about ourselves and thus has to end in order to truly create a life of balance. In this episode I’m going to go into detail on shoulding and why it’s a problem. I’m going to show you how it is stealing away your time, contributing to a lack of confidence and making you feel not-enough and then I will give you a 5 step process to end the cycle of shoulding. Navigating the work to home transition
In this episode, I am going to talk about creating a work-to-home transition. This is the moment of the day that is the most crucial to creating work-life balance. It's that moment where the demands of your family meet the exhaustion of your workday and you can set yourself up to feel connected and present by creating a short 10-minute transition routine. Success is not dependent on time
In this episode, I am going to talk about why you don’t need more time to be successful. That actually, success has nothing to do with time. Our brains only think we need “more time” to be successful because we’ve never pushed ourselves to think otherwise. I will break down the way a balanced person views success and explain exactly how they are able to achieve more in less time.Success does not define you. Who you are as a person has nothing to do with being successful. You are a good mom, wife & worker despite your outward successes. When you believe this, you are free to achieve, try, take risks, say no, do all the things because it doesn’t define who you are.And when you believe that success is not dependent on time you will begin to push your brain to think more creatively so you reach the desired outcome in shorter periods of time. Your value isn't found in your career
In today’s episode I'm going to be addressing one of the most important topics to creating balance in your life: your value. Essentially your worth. As we become adults, we learn that our value has a lot to do with both the quality and quantity of our output – our accomplishments - but that isn’t really where our true value lies. Our value lies in something much deeper than that, and as you begin to realign your value away from your career & accomplishments, you’re going to have a much easier time creating a balanced life. If your value isn’t found in your career and your accomplishments, where is found? In simply being you! Your value is found in the core pieces of who you are. I call this your human value. In this episode I am breaking down the difference between your accomplished value and your human value and explaining why it is important to shift the way you see your value. Topics in this episode:Accomplished value vs human value – what’s the difference? Why ambitious women tend to focus too much on our accomplished value and how it causes imbalanceWhy you need to see yourself through the lens of your human value and what will shift when you do. The link between your brain and balance (part 3)
Your brain is so powerful, that your thoughts are like a self-fulfilling prophecy. They will either move you forward or hold you back. Which means, you have to be able to control what's going on in your brain if you want to have an ambitious and balanced life. In this episode we will be focusing on the third component that creates balance: a controlled mind. What we feel stems from what we think. The literal words that go through your head are what create sensations or feelings in your body. So if you want to feel balanced, you have to think thoughts that create a feeling of balance. In this episode, I am going to teach you how your thoughts are connected to your emotions, the most common thoughts that create imbalance and exactly what you should be thinking instead. This is part 3 of a 4 part series on creating work-life balance. Clarity is essential to work-life balance (part 2)
Clarity is essential to work-life balance. When you are clear, you don’t second guess yourself and you make more decisive decisions. Clarity is like a road map for your brain telling it what is most important. For most women, once they have children their priorities change. What was once important no longer seems to matter. This is a moment where most women need to re-decide what it is they want in their life. They need to decide what living “regret-free” looks like. In this episode I’m going to dive into the 3 things you need to get clear on if you are going to create balance. I will focus on finding clarity in your career, long term goals and day-to-day priorities. This is part 2 of a 4 part series on creating work-life balance. The foundation to creating work-life balance
If you're not feeling really good about you and your work, you're likely not going to feel balanced in life. If you're constantly looking for other people to validate how good you are and what you're doing, you're going to spend too long perfecting things. If you're really hard on yourself and have a lot of negative self-talk, you’re going to waste time and energy in self-judgement and indecision and likely never experience balance. A confident relationship with yourself is literally the foundation for a balanced life. In this episode, I will explain several misconceptions about work-life balance, the truth about what it actually is and the 4 components that make up a balanced working mom life. I will dive deep into the first component, confidence, and share why I think it is the foundation to creating a balanced life. We will cover why knowing who you are and who you are not is vital to being confident and ultimately how true confidence is being able to separate how good you are as a person, mom and worker from how much you accomplish. This is part one of a 4 part series.
