312: 6 Years of Wisdom In 45 Minutes
Today’s Episode: “6 Years of Wisdom In 45 Minutes” is something very different. It’s an actual message taken from our Best Year Ever Blueprint (BYEB) Mentors program that we introduced this week. I asked Chip Franks to choose one of his favorite videos from inside the program, and to use the audio for this week’s Achieve Your Goals podcast episode, to give you some added value this week. This particular BYEB Mentors session that he chose features me, and my two dear friends, Jon Vroman and Jon Berghoff, sharing our most valuable lessons learned during the past 6 years of hosting the Best Year Ever Blueprint. And while I’ve been pretty open about my struggles this past year, I’d say this is the most vulnerable I’ve ever been. This session takes you really deep into my lowest point, the reasons why, and more importantly - what you can do now if you’re struggling, too. We also give you universally applicable self-awareness activities that you can immediately implement to improve any area of your life. This is some extremely valuable knowledge—but something that we all know is that knowledge isn’t power, it’s only potential power. So how do we put this into practice? To help you put this into practice, we’ve put together some journaling (aka “Scribing”) questions in the BYEB Mentors program for this particular session and copied them in the show notes and we suggest you put them into practice. 310: How to Solve the Biggest Problem Facing Humanity Today with Neale Donald Walsch
I’m beyond excited to share this week’s podcast with you, as I have literally been waiting for over 20 years to talk with today’s guest! In 1999, I read the book Conversations with God by Neale Donald Walsch for the first time, but it wouldn’t be the last. In fact, you’ll hear today about how that one book has positively impacted my life more than any other. In Neale’s newest book, The Essential Path: Making the Daring Decision to Be Who You Truly Are, he explores how feelings of alienation have created a world in which it’s always “us against them” - and why it’s time to question our basic assumptions about ourselves and each other, about life and how it works, about God, and what humanity is, in order to transform our world for the better. It is an honor to speak to Neale about the processes and the thinking that have inspired his work, the impact that he’s had on the world, and how we can each begin solving the biggest problem currently facing humanity. 309: Make Your Journaling Cosmic with Yanik Silver
Has Scribing (aka “Journaling”) transformed your life as it has mine? Needless to say, Scribing is a key part of the Miracle Morning S.A.V.E.R.S. and an incredible way to achieve breakthrough insights, solidify your commitments, experience more gratitude, and generate clarity and motivation on a daily basis. Yanik Silver is living proof of this. As someone I’ve admired for over a decade, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on his latest creation: The Cosmic Journal, in which he presents a hand-written, self-illustrated space for you to clarify your purpose, determine your destiny, tap into the invisible forces of the universe (stick with me), and galactic instruction manual to help you re-remember your highest self. Yanik is also the CEO of Maverick1000, a network of top entrepreneurs that assembles for breakthrough retreats, opportunities, and experience that to date has raised over $3 million for people in need by working with icons like Sir Richard Branson, Tony Hawk, Sara Blakely, Chris Blackwell, John Paul DeJoria, and Tim Ferriss. Today, Yanik joins the podcast to share the story of the “cosmic alarm clock” moment that set him off on his cosmic journey, the process that led him to write the new book, and the breakthroughs we can achieve when we make journaling part of our daily routine. 308: The Power of Listening to Conscious Music with Drew Mcmanus
What kinds of music do you prefer to listen to? Do you ever consider how that music – and specifically the lyrics – might be impacting your subconscious mind? Personally, I used to listen to music based purely on the sound (see: hip-hop), and although I sang along (mindlessly), I typically didn’t pay much attention to the words I was singing, or the impact they might be having on my subconscious. For example, in high school, I regularly blasted rap music (such as Snoop Doggy Dogg and Dr. Dre) through the speakers of my parents 1979 Toyota family sedan that they let me drive. :^) That was until a few years ago, when I discovered “conscious music.” What is conscious music? The word “conscious,” according to dictionary.com, means to “be aware of one’s own existence, sensations, thoughts, or surroundings.” So, conscious music would be that which enlightens one about the world around them. It is music that causes us to be aware of what’s going on and causes us to really think deepr about ourselves and our lives. Conscious music is typically music with a positive, purposeful message behind it. Now, I prefer listening to music with positive, purposeful lyrics that inspire me to expand my consciousness, and to feel more love and gratitude in my life – and few artists have inspired those feelings in me like Drew McManus, lead singer of the band Satsang. Satsang’s music and Drew’s lyrics leaves me feeling like I’m in a meditation session or in the presence of a spiritual guru. Today, Drew joins the podcast to share the story of his journey to conscious music, as well as how he overcame addiction and burnout to create the best art of his life and connect with audiences all over the world. 307: The Most Important Lessons I Learned from Jim Rohn with Kyle Wilson
Jim Rohn was one of my greatest mentors. He was a master of presenting complex ideas in an extraordinarily simple way, he was funny, and he had an incredible gift as a speaker and presenter. In fact, a single quote of his, “Your level of success will seldom exceed your level of personal development” was what inspired me to create the Miracle Morning. For 18 years, his business partner was Kyle Wilson - the founder of Jim Rohn International and YourSuccess.com. He worked to promote Jim all over the world, built a following of over a million subscribers, published over 100 hours of CDs and DVDs, and then sold everything in 2007 to have more time with his children. Since then, Kyle has become the author of multiple #1 bestsellers and provides coaching and consulting through the Kyle Wilson Inner Circle Mastermind. Today, Kyle joins the podcast to share lessons from his partnership with Jim. You’ll learn how Kyle took Jim from being owed almost half a million dollars to doing over 100 speaking engagements a year to audiences of over 25,000. You’ll also find out how to rethink sales to empower your clients and customers, and discover why Jim, unlike many masters of sales, rarely got upset about the small stuff - and why you shouldn’t either. 306: An Unconventional Approach to Modern Mindfulness with Cory Allen
Making mindfulness part of your daily life, especially when you’ve never done it before, can be incredibly difficult. In fact, many beginners struggle to stick with it. They get distracted by their thoughts, think that they’re not good enough at meditation, and ultimately give up before experiencing the life-enhancing benefits that are available to all of us. Cory Allen understands this well. He’s the host of the Astral Hustle podcast and author of Now Is The Way: An Unconventional Approach To Modern Mindfulness. In his book, he explores how to use mindfulness not as a means to chill out for a few minutes in the morning and at night, but a way to rewire and retrain your brain to be conscious and present all day long. Today, Cory joins the podcast to share what he’s learned from his countless conversations with leaders at the forefront of mindfulness, neuroscience, and philosophy. You’ll discover how his book addresses the complexities of modern society, technology, and the internet, none of which existed 50 years ago when so many classic texts on meditation were written. 305: Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends On It with Kamal Ravikant
Few books have made as profound an impact on my life as much as Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends On It, as that one book quite possibly saved my life (literally). You’ll hear why that is today on the podcast, as I had the opportunity to engage in a highly anticipated conversation with the author of one of my all-time favorite books, Kamal Ravikant. Most importantly, you’re about to discover why loving yourself – actively and unconditionally – may be one of the most important things you can do, if not the single most important thing. Few understand this as well as Kamal. After his company in Silicon Valley collapsed and the love of his life left him, he fell into a deep depression. With his ego destroyed and his heart broken, he made a vow to love himself, then set out to do it - and this work changed his life. He shared his journey in a short self-published book, Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends On It. Almost half a million copies later, he joins the podcast to share how to take self-love from an empty-seeming platitude into a meaningful daily practice that has the power to transform your life in ways you may not even be able to imagine, as it has transformed mine. 304: You. Are. Perfect (How to Experience the Perfection in Yourself and Life)
On last week’s podcast, I shared “Why 2019 Was the Worst Year of My Life” (as in by far the most difficult). Being that open and vulnerable was challenging, but your feedback, love, and encouragement was incredible. It’s clear that a lot of us had hard years – and like me, you’re committing to making 2020 your best year ever. For me, this includes seeing and experiencing the perfection of our lives, and the true joy that comes along with seeing the perfection in yourself. This doesn’t mean that you’re without flaws, never do anything wrong, or that you’re infallible. It means that you see the messiness of life not as a cause for concern or pain, but as something you embrace to learn, grow, and expand your vision of perfection. It’s similar to how you might see and love a child – perfectly imperfect as they are constantly learning and evolving. After all, we’re really just children who have gotten older, and still have a lot to learn. :^) On today’s episode, you’ll learn how to work on experiencing your perfection daily, consciously, and deliberately. You’ll discover how to stop saying “I’m not enough,” stop beating yourself up, and live a life of joy, self-love, and freedom. 303: Why 2019 Was My Worst Year (And 3 Steps to Make 2020 Your Best Year)
Today's episode was tough to record, as it's the most vulnerable I've ever been on the podcast. You'll hear me reveal why 2019 was the most difficult year of my life—by far. I spent most of the year suffering from debilitating anxiety, overwhelming depression, and driven by FEAR. For months, I suffered in silence, wondering what in the hell was wrong with me. I was afraid of being judged, of letting my friends and business partners down, and of never getting my sense of optimism back. Finally, I had to be willing to be vulnerable, to ask for help, and to make major changes in my life to ensure that my choices are guided by my highest values, in 2020 and beyond Get The Full Show Notes To get full access to today's show notes, including audio, transcript, and links to all the resources mentioned, visit HalElrod.com/303 Subscribe, Rate & Review I would love if you could subscribe to the podcast and leave an honest rating & review. 302: How to Achieve Your Family Goals in 2020
Whether you are an entrepreneur, parent, and/or a provider, it’s easy to forget that at the end of your life, your loved ones won’t remember the paychecks you took home, the mortgage payments you made, or even what you achieved in your career. What they will remember is the time you spent with them, who it helped them become, and how you contributed to their emotional well-being and quality of life. I learned this the hard way. When I was diagnosed with cancer several years ago, I said that my family was my number one priority, but my schedule didn’t tell the same story. I was a workaholic, but I was in denial. Thankfully, around that same time, one of my best friends, Jon Vroman, started Front Row Dads - a community for family men with businesses, not businessmen with families. Jon chose to step up and align his work with making his family this top priority, and his work has been hugely transformative for me and hundreds of others over the years. Today’s episode of the podcast, Jon interviews me about the radical changes I’m making in my life to ensure that my family remains my true #1 priority in 2020, which hopefully will give you the courage, permission and strategies to really put your family first—and achieve all of your family-related goals—in 2020. 301: How to Create an Accountability Process with Akshay Nanavati [Part 2]
In the last episode of the podcast, my Chief Miracle Worker, Chip Franks, spoke to author Akshay Nanavati about the profound benefits of utilizing accountability in our lives – and the power of having a dedicated accountability buddy – in order to help you achieve your goals. Chip and Akshay also took things to the next level and even announced their own accountability partnership. If you haven’t listened to that episode yet, I highly recommend you click here to do so before you listen to this one. Today, we’re doing away with the traditional interview format to really explore what Chip and Akshay’s accountability partnership will mean for both of them. You’ll get a behind the scenes look at what this process looks like, discover how it can get a little messy (and why that’s okay), and hopefully get a sense of what could work to help you create a process - and partnership - of your own. 300: How to Get an Accountability Partner with Akshay Nanavati [Part 1]
Achieving anything worthwhile is difficult, especially when you decide to do it alone. Human beings are tribal creatures, and most of us can benefit from some form of structure and community to turn our biggest dreams into reality. In today’s special episode (Part 1 of 2), my Chief Miracle Worker and guest-host, Chip Franks, is talking with our friend, Akshay Nanavati, about the game-changing power of having an “accountability buddy” — someone who challenges you to move beyond your comfort zone, provides you with the extra support you need, and helps you to grow and improve in order to achieve your goals. Akshay is the author of FEARVANA: The Revolutionary Science of How To Turn Fear into Health, Wealth, and Happiness, where he explores how to transform potentially negative feelings into incredible strengths, and has been recommended by Seth Godin, Cal Newport, and even His Holiness The Dalai Lama. Today, Chip and Akshay talk about the benefits of having an accountability buddy, why you need one as a high achiever / entrepreneur, and who that person should and shouldn’t be. You’ll also learn what it takes to initiate and build this type of relationship. 299: How We Can Transform Our Next Generation with Honorée Corder
When I first published The Miracle Morning back in 2012, I was thinking small. I was committed to sharing the daily practice that changed my life, but I was only thinking I’d sell a few thousand copies. But then I started seeing a flood of emails and reviews from people about how the Miracle Morning had enabled them to make profound transformations in their lives, as well, so I committed to a bigger mission of changing millions of lives, one morning at a time. Then, I met Honorée Corder. She was a bestselling author and strategic book coach whom had published dozens of her own personal development books. After getting to know her, I asked her if she’d partner with me to co-create the Miracle Morning book series. And the rest, as they say, is history. Our next book in the series was just released on Monday. It is The Miracle Morning for Teachers, and I believe it’s one of the most important we’ve ever written, as it is already improving the lives of teachers and students around the world. This book is truly designed to elevate the consciousness of both TEACHERS and STUDENTS in order to make the greatest possible impact for our current and future generations. Today, Honorée joins me on the podcast to talk about how we worked with dozens of teachers to create a version of SAVERS that works in the classroom, the ABCs of being a legendary teacher, and how you can help to elevate the consciousness of humanity - one teacher, and one student at a time. 298: How to Tap Into Your Happiness with Active Appreciation with Chip Franks
As the name implies, the Thanksgiving holiday is generally a time to give thanks for everything that we’re grateful for – but is there more to it than that? Can there be more to your practice of gratitude than simply stating what you’re thankful for while you’re gathered around the dinner table this Thursday? In fact, there’s a huge difference between passive gratitude and active appreciation. People who practice active appreciation don’t just experience greater happiness in life - they have the power to change their brains for the better. Today, “Chief Miracle Worker” Chip Franks returns as our guest host to take you through the framework, exercises, and powerful quotes from thought leaders across history that inform his thinking. 297: How To Level Up Your Meditation Practice with Chip Franks
Meditation, or “Silence” as represented by the first “S” of the SAVERS that make up the Miracle Morning, is a proven, powerful practice that can improve your emotional health, increase your self-awareness, and strengthen your attention span and focus. That’s why, for today’s episode of the podcast, we’re doing something a little bit different. Chip Franks – my close friend and Chief Miracle Worker – is going to share several tools and techniques you can use to help with your own meditation practice. Whether you’re brand new to meditation, or have been doing it for years, there are always ways to get more from this life-changing work, and we’re excited to share this knowledge with you. 296: Exploring the Link Between Stress and Chronic Illness with Cort Davies
Earlier this year, I accidentally FaceTimed a man named Julio. Julio had just raised approximately $80,000 on a GoFundMe for today’s guest, Cort Davies. At the time, I was in the process of starting a nonprofit that was to be called Support the Unsupported, and Cort was founding his own, doing exactly what I wanted to do. His nonprofit, Conscious Cancer, helps cancer patients get the knowledge, holistic resources, and money to help them navigate the stress of bills they can’t pay. He’s also creating a documentary, which led not just to him filming at my house but to us having a long conversation about transitioning from chemo to holistic medicine. Today, Cort joins the podcast to discuss how his cancer journey has reshaped his life and his relationship with chronic stress. You’ll learn how it gave him the power to become heart-centered, to live with compassion and empathy, and to kick major ass - and how he’s working to help others do the same. On today’s episode of the Achieve Your Goals podcast, you’ll get to hear Brandon Hawk and I talk about YOU: A Guide to Deeper Connection, A Lifestyle of Ease, and Massive Results—based on his new book by the same title. BONUS: A Major Announcement and How to Make Difficult Decisions
In order for me to focus on my health (as I’m transitioning from chemotherapy to holistic treatments), I’ve recently had to make some very difficult decisions. On today’s special *BONUS* episode of the podcast, I’m sharing the biggest decision I’ve recently made—a HUGE announcement—and (most importantly) the process by which you can more easily and effectively make major decisions in your life. As a fellow human being, you know how much energy it takes to make decisions, no matter how simple they are. But when you’re facing a MAJOR decision—the kind that isn't black and white, where you might have multiple options, and where your actions could affect your life for months (or years) to come—making the right decision is often challenging. One of these decisions (which you’ll hear about in this episode), means that the upcoming Best Year Ever [Blueprint] live experience (taking place this December 13-15th) will be the last time we ever offer this event. 294: Unscripted: The Pursuit of Life, Liberty and Entrepreneurship with MJ DeMarco
At some point or another in our lives, we’ve probably been told that if we follow our passion, success will follow. However, if you’re an entrepreneur, wantrepreneur, or have friends with struggling businesses, you can probably think of more than a handful of experiences that prove that saying wrong. Few understand this better than MJ DeMarco. He’s the founder of The Fastlane Forum, a global business community featuring nearly 40,000 entrepreneurs, and Limos.com, a startup he built and grew into a profitable multimillion-dollar company with no money, no formal training, and only a few employees. He’s also the international bestselling author of The Millionaire Fastlane, one of my favorite financial books of all time. However, before he became a self-made millionaire, he had to try, fail, and ultimately find a way to bring passion to a product that the market truly needed. In his new book, UNSCRIPTED: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Entrepreneurship, he writes about how to build a business that leaves you feeling inspired and fulfilled in addition to paying the bills. Today, MJ joins the podcast to talk about why the established American narratives about creating wealth are complete garbage, how money can help you do what you love, and how to break free from the cycle of stress, debt, and frustration trapping so many of us in jobs - and businesses - that sap our passions. 293: Talking "Entrepreneurship" with the Business Growth Guru, Cameron Herold
If you’re reading this, there’s an 80+% chance that you’re an entrepreneur or someone who’s considering launching a business. However, whether you’re a seasoned entrepreneur or a wantrepreneur, today’s conversation with Cameron Herold is a must-listen. In addition to being my co-author for The Miracle Morning for Entrepreneurs, as well as the author of Double Double, Meetings Suck, and Free PR, Cameron is known around the world as the “business growth guru.” He has helped hundreds of companies achieve exponential growth and is one of those rare individuals who knows how to present his extensive knowledge and experience in a clear and effective way. Today, Cameron joins the podcast to discuss his journey into entrepreneurship, why running a business is much more about who to do things with than how to do things, and why he can almost always identify an entrepreneur in a crowd - even if he’s never met them before. 292: The Only Skill That Matters with Jonathan Levi
If you’ve listened to the podcast for a while, you’ve probably heard me say that it’s not what you learn that really matters - it’s what you live that ultimately impacts your life. Why? It’s simple: if you don’t apply what you’ve learned, it doesn’t do you much good. However, the irony is that how you live begins with what you learn. We can only live a better life to the degree that we learn what exactly that looks like, and what it takes to live it. Few people know this better than Jonathan Levi, author of the new book, The Only Skill That Matters, which explores the reasons and methods surrounding learning and memory - and will teach you how to learn anything three times faster. Jonathan is a serial entrepreneur, author, and podcaster. Born and raised in Silicon Valley, he’s the face of SuperHuman Academy and the author of Become a SuperLearner. Jonathan and I have known each other for over 20 years, and we recently reconnected when he had me on his SuperHuman Academy Podcast. Today, he joins the podcast to discuss the learning struggles he faced in his youth and the life-changing breakthrough he experienced, why improving your ability to learn is about much more than being able to impress people at parties, and actionable steps and processes you can take to live your learning. 291: Understanding How Intimacy Impacts ALL Areas of Your Life with Allana Pratt
When most people think of “intimacy” it’s usually related to physical affection, sex, or romance. However, intimacy impacts a lot more than that—it’s also crucial to effective parenting, entrepreneurship, and our relationships with ourselves. Few understand this better than intimacy expert Allana Pratt. She has served as a Guest Expert on The Jenny McCarthy Show, The Huffington Post, People, Forbes, CBS, TLC and FOX. She’s also the author of (4) books, the host of the Intimate Conversations podcast, and a go-to authority with over 4 million viewers on YouTube, where she helps her followers create healthy, thriving relationships with themselves first in order to naturally attract their ideal match. Jon Berghoff and I met Allana at a couples’ retreat, where she led several powerful experiences. I saw her enable people (including me and my wife) to quickly increase our self-awareness and discover deep and important things about ourselves, which is exactly what the Best Year Ever [Blueprint] live experience is all about where Allana will be one of our speakers this year. Today, Allana talks with Jon Berghoff about the exercises she’ll be leading at our BYEB event in San Diego this December. You’ll learn how to rediscover (and accept) your authentic self, see your blind spots, and make huge strides on your journey to becoming a compassionate badass. 290: How To Live in Alignment with Your Values with Jeremy “Brotha James” Reisig
Jeremy “Brotha James” Reisig isn’t just one of my favorite people. He is a world-class musician unlike any other, making music to help elevate your consciousness, enhance your mindset, and improve your life. There are very few “conscious” musicians, and Brotha James was the first I’d ever heard. Jeremy is also a world-class facilitator. He’s the Chief Energy Officer of Fambundance, where he works to elevate the consciousness of the world by elevating the consciousness of the family. He focuses on helping kids aged 8-18 with personal transformation, emotional management, aligning values, and more. I’ve had Jeremy as our musician in residence at every Best Year Ever [Blueprint] LIVE event I’ve ever held, and we’ve even performed the Miracle Morning Song together onstage. However, this year, Jeremy will be leading a parallel event alongside ours for your children, and we couldn’t be more excited for your whole family to attend. Today, Jeremy joins the podcast to talk about the importance of staying curious, how to build a business in alignment with your values and the life you want to live, and what we’ll be doing together at this year’s event. 289. The Most Important Personal Development Practice with Chip Franks
If you practice The Miracle Morning (and specifically the S.A.V.E.R.S.), I think you’re going to love today’s *special* episode of the Achieve Your Goals podcast! Today, we’re doing something a little different. Instead of our usual podcast format—where our guests talk about how they achieved their goals and how to get more done—I’m giving the floor over to my good friend and Chief Miracle Worker, Chip Franks, for a training and tutorial to help you get the most out of your Miracle Morning “Scribing” (aka “Journaling”) practice. Among many things, Chip has one of the most effective Scribing practice I’ve ever seen. Though he goes through almost 250 pages in his journal every month, he rarely spends more than about 15 minutes a day scribing. He believes that it is the most important personal-development practice that exists and a powerful way to turn ideas into action. Chip also journals to deal with anxiety and overwhelm, have a conversation with himself, and become an objective third-party with himself when he needs it the most. Today, Chip joins the podcast to share 10 techniques to optimize your Scribing practice. I’d love to see you commit to giving the ones that make sense for you a try - and see how scribing can change your life for the better. 286: Putting the Mystery Back in Miracles with Dr. Sean Stephenson [REPLAY]
I’ve got some sad news, which you may have already heard. One of the most inspirational people I’ve ever met, Sean Stephenson – known around the world as the “3 Foot Giant” – passed away last week, after a wheelchair accident. Sean dedicated his life to helping people, and I was blessed to know him as a friend and mentor. Today it is my privilege to share some of his inspiration with you by giving you an opportunity to listen to the last interview that he and I did together. Because of a rare bone disorder, Sean was predicted not to survive at birth. In fact, he’d suffered over 200 fractures by the time he turned 18. However, Sean has survived, thrived, and lived a life that has inspired millions around the world. He’s appeared on Oprah and Jimmy Kimmel Live, has online videos with 10+ million views, been the subject of a TV series for A&E called 3 Foot Giant, and published a book titled Get Off Your But: How to End Self-Sabotage. 284: Can Money Actually Buy Happiness? with Moneeka Sawyer
“Success” is a pretty loaded word – and the definition is really personal to each of us. What does success mean to you? On today’s podcast, I talk with Moneeka Sawyer, author of Choose Bliss: The Power and Practice of Joy and Contentment, who redefines success (and specifically financial success) and how it ties into our happiness. Moneeka may be one of the most blissful people you’ll ever meet! 283: Why “Burning Your Boats” is Terrible Advice with Tim Grahl
According to legend, Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés issued a rather interesting order to his men as they began their conquest of the Aztec empire in 1519. The order was simple: Burn the boats. He wanted his men to realize that they had no opportunity to retreat, so they had to give this fight everything they had. Failure was no longer an option and winning this battle just became that much more important. There is much debate about the legitimacy of this story, both in reference to the true intentions of Cortés and whether the actual burning took place at all. However, regardless of the accuracy in this particular case, this phrase “Burn your boats” has become popular advice in the context of business and success. In today’s episode, my friend and best-selling author, Tim Grahl, and I discuss why burning your boats may be the wrong strategy and one you want to avoid, and then we share what we believe will be a much better approach for your to take your success to the next level and beyond. 282: Why Human Nature is the #1 Obstacle Holding You Back (and How to Overcome It)
Do you know what’s standing in the way of creating and experiencing everything you want for your life? The answer might surprise you. Our cavemen and cavewomen ancestors were biologically programmed to do two things: survive and rest. Our agenda back then was simple: hunt and gather food so that we could sustain life, find shelter, and rest until we needed more food to eat or a new shelter to rest under. We were NOT, however, designed to achieve, to get ahead, or to be successful. So, to this day human beings unconsciously abide by our inborn human nature, and it prevents us from creating and experiencing what we deeply want to create and experience in our lives. On today’s podcast, I share raw, unfiltered thoughts and powerful, life-changing information that can help you transcend your innate human nature (that is holding you back). You’re also going to learn about how society conditions us to want things that don’t make us happy, why you’re always going to be drawn toward taking the path of least resistance, and how to overcome the laws of the universe to do what we need in order to create everything you want and deserve. 281: From Homeless and Addicted to Drugs to Transforming Lives with Mark Crandall
Long before Mark Crandall became a member of the Quantum Leap Mastermind program that I recently told you about, he was a lost young man with countless traumatic experiences. He spent time in jail, was a drug addict, and carried an underlying self-hatred. He’s since transcended his adversity and become keynote speaker, licensed master social worker, chemical dependency counselor, clinical interventionist, the author of Embrace Your Past, Win Your Future, host of two podcasts, and a highly sought after clinical interventionist. At our last Quantum Leap Mastermind (QLM) retreat, I saw Mark do powerful, transformative work in real time, and it’s truly an honor to introduce you to him. Today, he joins the podcast to share how he uses his life to hold a mirror up to those who need it the most. 279: Find the Gifts in Your Adversity with Marcus Aurelius Anderson
Adversity an inevitable part of life, and the reality is that all of us have more adversity that we will experience in our future. So it’s vitally important that we learn how to embrace our adversity and turn it into an advantage. Personally, I view adversity as a GIFT and often our greatest opportunity for GROWTH, and I’m living proof. My two greatest adversities (being hit head on by a drunk driver, breaking 11 bones, and dying for 6 minutes - at age 20… and then being diagnosed with cancer and given a 30% chance of surviving - at age 37) were two of the greatest gifts I’ve ever received, because both enabled me to learn, grow, and become the person I am today. That’s why I’m excited to introduce you to my podcast guest today, Marcus Aurelius Anderson (link to listen to the podcast is below). He is the author of The Gift of Adversity, TedX speaker, US Army veteran, lifelong martial artist, and high-performance mindset coach for leaders, companies, CEOs, and entrepreneurs. Today, Marcus joins the podcast and we talk about how you can find the gifts in your adversity—no matter what happens to you—and turn your adversity into an advantage. Marcus suffered a severe spinal injury while preparing to deploy, died twice on the operating table, and was told he would never walk again. With no other options, Marcus began to see the lessons learned from his injury - and when he saw adversity as a gift, something miraculous began to happen. She is a living example that if there’s anything holding you back, you have the power to overcome it - and to achieve all of your goals. 276: The #1 Key to Immediate and Lasting Happiness with Ryland Engelhart
On a scale of 1-10, how grateful would you say that you are every day, in each moment, and how present are you for all that you have to be grateful for? Personally, I believe that GRATITUDE is the key to true and lasting happiness, and I would humbly rate myself at a “9” on the gratitude scale. But that wasn’t always the case for me. In fact, quite the opposite. Just ask my mom. She’ll tell you that, growing up, gratitude was definitely NOT one of my strengths. It wasn’t until I learned the power that gratitude has in determining the quality of our lives that I made it a priority and the quality of my life my life has been radically transformed as a result. When I was diagnosed with cancer, I was immediately grateful (literally). For what you might be wondering? For the extraordinary adversity that I believed would provide me the opportunity to learn, grow, and become a better version of myself. On today’s podcast episode, you’ll meet one of the most genuinely grateful people I have ever met – someone whom I deeply admire – Ryland Engelhart. Ryland is the Mission Fulfillment Officer and co-owner of my absolutely favorite restaurant in the world – one that is changing the world – Café Gratitude! Today, he joins the podcast to share how to amplify gratitude and happiness in your life every single day, and how humanity can live regeneratively in relation to nature. 275: The Four Rules You Must Break to Get Rich with Nathan Latka
Nathan Latka dropped out of college at the age of 19 with $119 in his bank account. Five years later, he sold his first software company for $10.5 million dollars. He’s since launched The Top, a podcast with over 10 million downloads that helps entrepreneurs get what they want, founded a private equity company, and earns over $100,000 a month in passive income. However, Nathan doesn’t consider himself to be especially brilliant. In his new book, How To Be a Capitalist Without Any Capital: The Four Rules You Must Break To Get Rich, he explains why you don’t need lots of money or an original idea to “get rich.” He challenges the old-school business rules most entrepreneurs take for gospel and teaches—with pictures as proof—how he used a totally different set of rules to build a fortune. If you’re an entrepreneur (or a wantrepreneur) today’s episode is a must-listen. Today, Nathan joins the podcast to share the story of how he launched and sold his first business after walking away from college, how he generates significant monthly passive income, and what’s holding you back from achieving massive success. 274: Accessing Your Authenticity with JP Sears, Conscious Comedian
Join me today for a highly entertaining, kinda random, and yet highly valuable conversation with my good friend – the infamous JP Sears. JP is a YouTuber, conscious comedian, emotional healing coach, world traveler, author, and curious student of life. With over 300 million YouTube views across his videos, JP empowers people to live more meaningful lives, using a blend of spirituality and messages to expand consciousness through humor. By his own admission, JP is also a people pleaser. However, he’s discovered how to get over his fears and use a unique, humorous, and authentic style to address even extremely controversial topics. I’ve spoken with many podcasters, influencers, and authors I know about finding a balance and working through this struggle, and even if you’re not an author, you’ve likely found yourself in a situation where you’ve changed your tone of voice in front of certain clients, friends, and even family members. Today, JP joins the podcast for a discussion about how he delivers serious and empowering messages through the lens of comedy, finding authenticity in being respectable, why the goals you don’t meet still matter, and how personal power factors into everything we do. 268: The Inherent Human Conflict - Moving from Limited to Limitless
It’s been a crazy week since the launch of The Miracle Equation - my first traditionally published book. I’m beyond grateful, humbled, and excited by the outpouring of support I’ve received from all of you, and if you’ve gotten a copy of the book already, I want to thank you. I believe that this book will radically transform your life, and I am living the Miracle Equation right now as I work to share this message with as many people as I possibly can. For today’s podcast, I read one of my favorite chapters in the book—Chapter 3: The Inherent Human Conflict: Moving from Limited to Limitless. (If you’re human, this applies to you.) :^D I guess you could say this is kind of like me giving you a preview of the audiobook (the first of my books that I actually read the audiobook myself). However, unlike the audiobook (which I read word-for-word), in today’s podcast I go WAY off script quite a few times. (That includes kissing my wife in the middle of the episode!) We all face this internal conflict - and we all have to overcome it. This is an unfiltered, unedited look at how we can conquer our limitations and stop living on autopilot, and even if you’ve already started reading (or listening) to the book, you’ll likely discover something new in this episode. 267: My First Deep Dive into the Miracle Equation
Last week's podcast episode was on How to Become a Millionaire Using the Miracle Equation which is a (30-minute) interview that I recorded on the Eventual Millionaire podcast with Jaime Masters. I shared that with you because I felt it was the most concise explanation/training of The Miracle Equation that I had ever given. This week, we're taking a similar (but more in-depth) path. Today's episode is also a recent interview that someone else did with me, only this time instead of being "concise" it's actually the most "in depth" explanation/training I've ever given on the Miracle Equation, and I did so in this (60-minute) conversation with Mike Dillard on the Mike Dillard Podcast. In this episode, we dive deep and offer new insights into how the Miracle Equation came into existence six years before I created the Miracle Morning, why miracles aren’t about praying, waiting, or hoping, the REAL purpose of goals and how to commit to achieving goals (regardless of your outcomes), and the incredible life changes that happen when you make your mission inevitable. 266: How To Use The Miracle Equation To Become a Millionaire
Last week I had the opportunity to be interviewed on the Eventual Millionaire podcast and it was like some kind of out-of-body experience. I don't know that I've ever felt so inspired after an interview! As soon as we finished recording, I told Jaime that I felt it was one of the most beneficial interviews I've ever done (in terms of the benefits for the listener, aka "YOU!") and asked her if she'd be okay with me sharing it with you, and she said "Of course!" :^) So, I'm VERY excited for you to listen to this episode! Jaime and I dig deeper into the Miracle Equation, talk about how to set your mission, and share more stories from my own life about the transformative results - financial and otherwise - that it helped me achieve. 265: How To Become Emotionally Invincible
What if I told you that every destructive emotion you’ve ever felt, are feeling now, and will ever feel in the future is self-created by you and is completely optional? What if I then taught you a way to immediately take complete control of your emotional well-being so that you never have to feel painful emotions again? That’s what today’s episode is all about. If you can be in control of your emotional state from within, put yourself in a peak emotional state, and manage through the setbacks you face, you don’t just feel great about life - you become emotionally invincible. Emotional invincibility is hugely powerful. It makes it that much easier to apply the Miracle Equation, and to truly enjoy every moment in your life. In today’s podcast - the fourth episode in my series about my upcoming book, The Miracle Equation: The Two Decisions That Move Your Biggest Goals from Possible, to Probable, to Inevitable - I dive deep into why it’s so hard to be at peace with all things. We’ll explore why you are the cause of your negative emotions and how to transcend them, and I’ll share with you my three techniques to implement emotional invincibility in your world. 264: Putting the Mystery Back In Miracles with Dr. Sean Stephenson
Dr. Sean Stephenson is what I call a Miracle Maven – someone who lives by the Miracle Equation and has achieved remarkable results, or what I call “tangible, measurable miracles.” Because of a rare bone disorder, Sean was predicted not to survive at birth. In fact, he’d suffered over 200 fractures by the time he turned 18. However, Sean has survived, thrived, and lived a life that has inspired millions around the world. He’s appeared on Oprah and Jimmy Kimmel Live, has online videos with 10+ million views, been the subject of a TV series for A&E called 3 Foot Giant, and published a book titled Get Off Your Butt. Sean’s success in life against all odds is a result of his unwavering faith and extraordinary effort. Today, he joins the third episode of the podcast in my series about the two decisions that lay the foundation for my new book, The Miracle Equation: The Two Decisions That Move Your Biggest Goals from Possible, to Probable, to Inevitable, to share how he beat his toughest challenges and created a life full of miracles.
