The Tone Mob Podcast
Arts
Music
Blake Wyland & Sound Talent Media
The year was 2015. Show host Blake Wyland intended to start a podcast where he took a deep dive with his guests from the guitar world to explain their rigs. What happened was that, but also a whole lot more. The show quickly evolved into discussions about people's lives. Guitars, pedals, amps, etc. are the central hub of the show, but it really is more about the PEOPLE behind all of it. Both the musicians who use the gear, and the folks that create these magical tools of expression. You can expect chats about songwriting, favorite bands, family, loss, addiction, conspiracy theories, philosophy, and most of all....... food. This podcast goes all over the place. Come take a ride.
How Many Monkeys Does It Take To Wire A Fender?
In this episode of the Tone Mob Podcast, host Blake Wyland and partner Scott Marquart get into some GEAR STUFF!
But first we must engage in a lively discussion that begins with Halloween costumes because we recorded this on Halloween proper. What's start's off as a commentary on Scott's cowboy outfit moves into a SHOCKING REVELATION about your host's teenage years.
After that, we dive into some gear releases, including: the Keeley OctaPsi, ,
The new Clean Compressor from Chase Bliss
The Keeley OctaPsi
Jack White's various Fenders (and the apparent production quirk they have)
Are there going to be MORE Dumbles produced?
The fantastic nature of Mr. Zachary Vex from Zvex
A WHOLE LOT MORE!
You are going to dig this one, so let's get into it!

This week I have my dude Zach from Mythos Pedals, the Dipped In Tone Podcast, and most recently High Voltage Guitars on the show this week. Zach has been on the podcast a few different times, but he has had so much new stuff happening that I had to have him back on for another round.
Specifically, we get into the how and why behind him starting Nashville's newest guitar retail shop, High Voltage Guitars.
In a place with great shops seemingly everywhere, why did Zach start this store? What's the idea behind it? What makes this guitar store different?
We get into all of that, and a WHOLE lot more on this episode of The Tone Mob Podcast.

1000s of Guitars SAVED From Landfills w/ Jason & Ian of MIRC
On today's episode of the podcast, I sit down with Jason Gano and Ian Harrold of Musical Instrument Reclamation Corporation. MIRC is a truly fascinating and unique company based in Music City that has saved untold thousands of guitars from ending up in landfills.
MIRC partners with musical instrument brands, retailers, and individuals all around the world. They take guitars that get damaged in shipping, have factory flaws, or some other factor that would make them unsellable as "A" stock, and run them through a multi-stage process to turn them back into insanely high quality instruments that more people can access.
I recorded this at their shop just outside of Nashville, and toured their brand new, state-of-the-art facility. It was a fantastic experience.

Visiting Every Guitar Store In The USA? w/ Charlton Moore of Franklin Strap
Have you ever heard of ANYONE hitting the road and visiting basically every single guitar store in the United States? Few have done it, and even fewer have done it for a guitar accessories brand.
But Charlton Moore of Franklin Strap has, and his efforts were a large part of the reason that Franklin Strap & Glider Capo is carried in well over 1000 retailers across North America. (And the world at this point.)
We dive into how he did this under the tutelage of the late, great Greg Bennett, his classical music schooling, writing 300+ songs a year, and a whole lot more!

Germanium INSANITY w/ Richard of Wampler Pedals
Klon. There are few words in the guitar world that will get guitarists clamoring, foaming at the mouth, or shouting hysterically like the word Klon. (I'll let you decide if that is a negative or a positive in your own mind.)
So much so that even the best clones of the legendary circuit can send folks right into a frenzy. And if those clones are using some of the same hard-to-source components as the original? Well, people lose their almost as hard as they do over an original!
My buddies over at Wampler Pedals had just that happen at the end of last year with the Germanium Tumnus release, and I invited my buddy/co-host Richard Oliver (a man of many hats at Wampler) on the podcast to discuss just that.

On this Fairwell Fest conversation, I sat down with The Band The Brook And The Bluff. Unlike most episodes, on this one I'm talking to the WHOLE BAND!
These Fairwell Fest episodes are recorded in the "green room area' of the festival and it is a much different environment than I'm accustomed to, and I was running around like a maniac for the whole weekend. So you'll notice the vibe is slightly different, but not in a bad way.

Are Guitar Products Just Wrong? (Barry Grzebik of Grez Guitars pt2)
Barry is back on the podcast! Barry builds some of my favorite guitars ever, but he isn't just an expert luthier. Barry is an real deal acoustician by trade and has a vast array of experience managing, creating, and controlling sound in almost any environment imaginable.
On this episode we talk about his transition to building guitars full time, and some of his more challenging builds as an acoustical consultant. We also talk about what is "wrong" with guitar products, and why do we like them like that.
There is a lot of info on this episode, you are going to love it!
