Tonja Henderson turned a terrible situation into a great life. After finding people who became her support team she overcame her childhood abuse. From this awful time in her live she developed a mindset that has allowed her to overcome every obstacle she encounters. She decided she had to “Give up or Get Up.”  Tonya & her husband thought that family was the most important part of their life. When they decided to have children, she chose to give up her job (she was the bread winner at the time.) They lived on the small stipend he made as a grad student. She credits their survival with so little money on tithing. Yes, they continued to give when they couldn’t buy food for themselves… and somehow it always worked out.  When her husband’s company wanted them to relocate to China, he decided to walk away from the secure job & start a business. When they sold their house & made some money they chose to buy a smaller house and used the money they had left to buy a rental. Now they have 6 successful children, multiple rentals across many states, a nutrition business and a great family that travels together.

Celebration of Veterans  Don Maurer, USMC 1st Marine Air Wing 1967-68 in Vietnam was a currier carrying secret & classified intelligence. Don talks about what it was like back then and how he felt when he came back home. Don was there for some of the greatest…and worst points in our recent history including the assignations of Martin Luther King, Jr & Robert Kennedy. Jennifer Gross, Air Force LTC, Nurse Practitioner, Ohio House Representative for District 45 & previous homeschool Mom was one of the nurses who helped air evac the soldiers injured in “Black Hawk Down.” She talks about what it takes to become a veteran & a leader. Aaron Woolf & Atlas Menswear-Solving Problems Today Aaron talks about how he went from the Air Force to the NSA. After 9-11he got a sales/mortgage job and ended up in regional management for a large corporation with good pay and benefits. He walked away from all of that one day to follow his dreams. Josh graduated HS and made the choice to walk away from a business in IT and pursue his dream of flying. When he got the chance he dropped everything. The summer after he graduated HS he drove 3 states away to take a 2-week private pilot course. Most people take more than a year to get a license. He did it in 2 weeks. Then he drove through multiple more states to start his commercial pilot training. By the time he was 21 he was flying regional jets for an airline. During the pandemic he took a huge pay cut to keep flying cargo. That set him up to fly the Airbus 320 & 321 for another major airline. In his free time, he got a bachelor’s degree and took over as Chief Pilot for a local flight school. He even taught me to fly through the clouds (IFR rating.)  The next time you are traveling and see your pilot is only 24 years old it may be Josh! (Don’t worry, TSA took away his plastic butter knife so he couldn’t take over the plane he was flying.) https://www.youtube.com/@realpowerfamily
