All right, so today what I want to talk about is I want to go into a little bit of personality types and the different personality types in business.I have two books that I typically like to recommend in regards to personalities.
And the first book that I would normally recommend is for entrepreneurs. As entrepreneurs, business owners, or people you have a vision, there's a book called Traction by Gina Wickman. It's called Traction, Get a Grip on Your Business.
And that's the first book that I recommend.I'm not going to talk about that book today.I'm going to talk about the concepts in the book called Surrounded by Idiots. And this breaks things down into four types of personalities.
Of course, people change depending on their circumstances, depending on how they were born, et cetera, et cetera.
For example, I am an introvert and I normally don't like talking to people, but you'll see me producing content, doing speaking engagements, et cetera. because I have different behavior outside of my personality type.
So when I'm referencing and I'm talking about this book, I'm typically talking about behavioral types. You might hear me say that behavior and personalities, you might hear me swap those in and out.
Now, there are four basic types, according to this book, and you can go get it. The four basic types are as follow.
They list them out in colors, which I like because we tend to associate things negatively when we hear the original way that they're phrased. So normally when I'm hearing these phrases talked about, they're referred to as high this or low that.
So as an example, the first personality type slash behavior is D. So if you're high in that category, they will call you a high D. Or if you're low in that category, they'll call you a low D. And they do the same thing for each particular category.
Inside of the book, they list them out in colors. You can kind of see the different colors here. And what prompted this video was, I had a colleague that was a particular type, and
We're no longer business partners because he couldn't adjust to feedback. He couldn't adjust to feedback. And I just want to share some personal experiences, some personal stories based off this particular colleague.
And I want to talk about how we have to understand that everything is not about us and our feelings.Yes, sometimes it's nice to want to work with people that we know and trust. but that's not always the case.
Sometimes we got to put on our, uh, what they say, big boy pants or big girl panties, and we just got to move forward. So I'm saying that to let you know that, um, certain colors I do not like to work with, uh, if I'm being honest, but that's okay.
I have to put my feelings aside.I understand that there is a higher purpose at work.Okay.So let me read to you.Um, It's a pretty decent list.
I'm not going to read everything, but I'm going to read you a few things that jump out according to the colors.I want to start off with the color red.Red slash high D personalities.
These people are aggressive, ambitious, strong willed, goal oriented, pushing, problem solvers, pioneers, decisive, innovator.
Impatient, controlling, convincing, performance oriented, powerful, results oriented, initiators, speedy, time keepers, intense, opinionated, straightforward and independent. Those are that's the type that red personalities are.
And actually, what I think I can do.Is I believe I can pull up a PDF so you can view these things with me, so let's see if I can do that. I think we might be in luck.So I'm gonna pull that up and I'm just gonna share a particular, here we go.
So I'm gonna share this and this is what I'm talking about. You can kind of see it on the side.Let me make it bigger for you.All right. So this is what I'm talking about.I'm talking about different personality types.
This is a particular, I didn't go in this particular section, but you get a general idea of what's going on here.
So, uh, reds and blues, their task and issue oriented greens and yellows, their relationship oriented, uh, blues and greens, which you see over here, They are typically introverted and passive. They're introvert, passive, and reserved.
And reds and yellows, they're extroverted, active, and they're implementers, okay?So I wanted to, that's the general understanding, right?Task-oriented and issue-oriented, relation-oriented, okay?I'm going to skip that.
And then what I just read to you was this particular section here.I read all of the traits of the red, and now I'm going to go through the yellow. So yellows are talkative.I've met a lot of yellow personalities and they talk a lot. They talk a lot.
They are enthusiastic. They are... They are persuasive, creative, optimistic, social, spontaneous, expressive, charming, full of vitality, self-centered, sensitive, adaptive, adaptable, inspiring. They need attention.
They are encouraging, communicative, flexible, open, sociable, imaginative, easygoing. All right. So That's a yellow personality.
Then we have, just so you know, in general, as an entrepreneur, most people are a red or a yellow when they enter entrepreneurship, right? They're ambitious. They want to conquer the world. Most of general society, they fall over between green and blue.
So Greens are patient, relaxed, self-controlled, reliable, composed, loyal, modest, understanding, lengthy, stable, prudent, discreet, supportive, good listeners. They're helpful. They're producers. They're persistent, reluctant, thoughtful.
They conceal feelings. They're considerate and they're kind.Blues are conscientious. They're systematic, distant, correct, conventional. They seem insecure. They're objective, they're structured, analytical, perfectionists, they need time.
They're reflecting, they're methodical, they look for facts, they're quality oriented, they scrutinize, they follow rules, they're logical, questioning, meticulous, reflecting, and reserved. So these are the different types.
Now, I wanna go over to, I wanna talk about some of the negatives.I'm gonna talk about some of the negatives of me, myself.I'm gonna start with me, and then I'm gonna talk about some colleagues of mine. I am a red personality.
Red is very high for me, but also blue is very high for me.So I'm going to start with the red.Red people can be seen as pushy. They can be seen as strict. They can be seen as tough, dominant and hard.So I get a lot of feedback from people.
And one of the first one of the things that people often say is they call me pushy. They call me a hoe. They call me a jerk. They call me things often. And that's part of what comes with how I work and how I operate.
I am that way because that way gets things done. And some people will say, oh, you can say it this way.You can do it that way.Trust me when I say it. For the most part, I've tried those ways.
I've tried those strategies, and it doesn't work the way that people say they work.
People say that because they want to take their time, they want to waste your time, and they want you to be understanding of where they are and blah, blah, blah, a bunch of stuff, right? What I'm more concerned about is the result. Can we move forward?
Can we get things going and move forward to make progress?Okay. Now let's talk about the negatives of blues. So I am also blue.I'm very high in blue.So blues are critical. I am critical.I'm critical of myself first and foremost, though.
I don't criticize just other people.I also criticize myself. That's why I do my best to carry myself in a decent light.Blues are typically indecisive.
I don't think I have that much of a problem because over on the red side, which I'm high in, I'm high in red.I think that kind of compensates or covers up my need to be critical or anything like that.Blues can be narrow minded.
I would have to agree with that.I can be closed off to certain ideas because I just want to get things done. It's not a negative thing. It doesn't mean it's not bad or good.Like that can be a good thing.Right.
And a good example is most people these days.Guess what they have. They have information overload. They're overwhelmed with what to do. and because they have so many options.
So when you cut things off, like a blue personality that you're seeing on the screen, you can seem narrow-minded, but sometimes it's a positive thing.Fastidious, I really don't know what that means. And moralizing, I am very moral.I have a moral code.
And a really good example is the person I'm gonna talk about shortly. He was a yellow. It was a yellow personality and he hated receiving criticism.
He hated when I would take up for people that weren't part of our team or I would step in and say, you know what? That's not right.Don't do that.Correct it or fix it.He didn't like that. And I'm just very moral.I've always been that way.
And that's just how I am.That's how I operate. Now, let's talk about the yellow personality type.So this is the person I work with a person. We were business partners for a pretty decent time. And when I first met this person, he was very manipulative.
And he was so manipulative.I had came out of the corporate space for a while and I was like, you know what?I don't need to do or play games or be manipulative anymore. But this particular person was very manipulative.
He would manipulate situations and manipulate scenarios to put them in his favor. And there's nothing inherently wrong with that. I don't think, but it's just not the way I operate and I don't necessarily appreciate it.
Despite that, I still work with this person and put my best foot forward, but I stuck to what I know and who I am.
And I am a red and I am a blue, which means if you go and look at some of the positives, I'm strong-willed, I'm diligent, I'm thoughtful, I'm serious, I'm persistent, demanding, methodical, determined, effective.
Those are the traits that come with me.And I'm not changing those things, right?I'll be open to feedback, but I am who I am. and I do really well by being that person and that personality that I am.
So I'm not saying that we as people should not want to grow, should not aim to grow, but we shouldn't listen to all feedback. There is no way you should be trying to change into an entirely different person.
there's a difference between growth and change. And I wanted to make that known. So back over to the yellow, you can see me moving. So yellows are hot tempered. And this guy that I'm talking about, he was very hot tempered. He could not take feedback.
He didn't like being criticized. He would get very angry about stuff for no reason. And I'm actually a little surprised to see hot-tempered in the yellow besides the red because they'll say the same thing about reds.
But if I'm being honest with you, I'm not hot-tempered. He can't mess with me.I'll strike back, but I don't have a hot temper. It takes a lot for me to strike or get pushy or get some kind of way.
This particular person that I'm thinking about, it didn't take much for him to get upset.Any little bit of criticism, any little bit of feedback, he would get sensitive. He would feel attacked.
He would feel like people didn't want to be on his team, et cetera. And it makes a lot of sense now that I read here it says hot temper. Next, yellows are very undisciplined. They don't have structure.
They got a great personality, make you feel good, but they don't have a lot of structure. So people tend not to trust them.
They tend to like them, but they tend to not believe in the results or the things that they will achieve according to their yellow personality.
Now, I'm not saying this is true across the board, but yellows are more, they're more susceptible to people not believing in them getting the job done. And this is what was happening with that colleague.
I would get people come to me all of the time and say, I don't really trust I like him.I really like this guy, but I don't really trust him.
And I'm here, Jerome, because I know you're going to bring what's needed, the discipline, the toughness and making sure the results are there. And then I don't I'm going to skip over counteractive and go to egotistic.
This person was very egocentric and very egotistic. You could not say anything or make him feel the slightest form of embarrassment, or he was flying off the hinges. He was upset.
He would say you were attacking him, you were bashing, you were harping on him.He would say all of these things. And it's unfortunate that he could, I told him, he was a friend at the time, I told him, I have no reason to ever want to tear you down.
I have much better things to do.I got family, I got a business.I just have much better things to do with my time outside of tearing you down.
I understand where you came from and I understand that most people might operate that way, but I'm not that way. My life, my business, anything that I do, it doesn't center around you. There are far more important things.
And I'm just not interested in destroying your ego or making you feel bad.I'm going to tell you things that work and help you get results. But I have absolutely zero interest on making you feel bad.No interest at all.So. Um, this was part one.
I'm going to dive a little bit deeper on some videos in the future, but I have to jump off to one of my mastermind calls. And, um, I just wanted to address this really quick because it's been sitting on my heart.
I saw a video about this particular person that I was working with and the person that. produced the video, he was pretty much dead on and calling out all of these things. And I just happened to ignore them too many times in the future.
So I'm going to come back and I'm going to talk about these personality and these things in the future on part two.
Jerome Lewis, Jerome Lewis, Jerome Lewis, Jerome Lewis, Jerome Lewis, Jerome Lewis,
Jerome Lewis. This is a book that on his page, it really caught my eye.It was The Insider Secrets of Successful Advertising Lead Generation and Marketing Implementation for Real Estate Entrepreneurs.
So this book I can't wait to read and very excited to base on and how to get a little bit more people to recognize the business and the services that I offer personally and then trying to progress that forward.
He is somebody who is an implementer. He knows how to get results. He has a track record of helping people get results.
Anyone's looking for a marketing expert. He is so knowledgeable. He has introduced me to some very practical, useful tools and just the way that I can use them for it to flow in my business has been tremendous.
If you're stuck in your business on implementation, which tool to use, look no further. Jerome, thank you so much for helping me launch my virtual summit.I'm so excited that you are part of that as well.
This is where you place your ad.So remember I kept talking about like, why would you just do TikTok when all you got to do is hit the checkbox on Facebook?Well, this is where you do that inside the ad placement.
So all you do is check that box and all your stuff is over on Instagram.
I'm eternally grateful for the opportunities that has risen out of our partnership. Yesterday I taught my very first class in EXP World and I was so nervous to do it.
I honestly struggled with even like believing in myself that I could do it, but when it was all said and done everyone loved the class and Jerome believed in me the entire time.
He's always been very helpful to me.He's actually been very helpful to a lot of my clients.I turn to him for a lot of advice. And we have worked together on and off.
I can't tell by now, I'm very serious.I'm an implementer.I'm like, dude, let's get stuff done.So you go to her class and you come get the content, then you come to my class, which is, it used to be just the social media mastermind.
My partner Jerome Lewis and my friend, he really helped me out with this. And, you know, I can't really even write a sentence sometimes, but he somehow got me to do this, right? He got me to do this, right?
And, you know, this feels good, right? When you see this, like, hey! How many people can say they wrote a book, right?
And Jerome did this really well.He reached out, he gave me a video and he said, Hey, Leanna, by the way, I noticed that you always have the retargeting recipes behind there and that you don't have your own book.
So I went ahead and did something for you to help you.And he says, I did something. So I basically did 80% of the work for you.So first of all, he wowed me with what he did.
But one of the reasons why he wowed me was that it was, it was just out of the blue and it was, it's definitely something I need. And he figured that out for me and nobody had ever done that.Jerome comes to all the calls.
So that's another thing is I see Jerome because he comes to all of the trainings and the calls and things like that. Speaking as the recipient, this really made him stand out for me.And it showed me like, here's a go-getter.
Here's a guy who like literally does something and gets it done.
My marketing and implementation, it was extremely simple and easy and effective. If anyone were to ask me who would I recommend and suggest?
It would definitely be Jerome because he really helped me simplify some of my offerings, compile them, and then to also see my value in what it was that I was offering the world.
Highly recommend each one of you.If you are someone looking to work in the real estate industry, then make sure you reach out to Mr. Jerome.I'm sure that he'll be the best person to guide you further.Thanks.
Thank you very much.Thank you so much, Jerome.Thank you.You are appreciated.I want to say thank you very much.
