Here we go, welcome to the Pat McAfee Show.I'm A.J.Hawkins sitting at Pat's desk. He's in Happy Valley for a huge matchup.Ohio State at Penn State, boys.Football's back.Football!A little redundant there, maybe.I don't know. That's all me.
Pat, how you doing, man?I see you in Happy Valley. It doesn't look too windy. What's going on over there, bud? It doesn't look too windy.
I'll tell you what, there's quite a breeze here and that breeze is a breeze that's bringing in happiness to Happy Valley because the fourth top five matchup of the college football season is going to happen on this pitch right here that has been freshly painted, freshly cut.
It smells delightful and the people of State College are excited for the biggest day of the year on campus when the Ohio State Buckeyes travel into town.College game day starts at 9 a.m.Eastern Time.
There's already people camping out at the stadium and at game day.I think it's going to be electrifying.AJ, I know you've been shitting your pants about these Ohio State Buckeyes for what happened in Oregon.
Big-time loss out there on the other side of the country. Then you get Nebraska, fresh off an ass-beating from Indiana.Nebraska controls the Rock, keeps Ohio State off the field. That becomes a close one.21-17, very late, they get a win.
And now you're walking into a buzzsaw of oh, oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh, oh, we are, we are. I can already sense it.There's people working in the stadium over there. They're already chanting and I walked in here.Got a couple. We ours.We ours.We ours.
We are excited in a lady that football is fantastic.Got a big show today.Big show day.
James Franklin, head coach of the Penn State Nittany Lions, will be here in about 28 minutes or so and Aaron Rodgers fresh off his best performance in the best New York Jets performance in like a decade plus.Maybe we'll join us at 110 AJ.
It's a beautiful time to be alive, but I know the Ohio State Buckeyes. They're pooping their pants a little bit.I know you guys got big old diapers over there, but you guys are favored by three coming in here.
I don't know how that's the case, but I guess books can be right, people can be wrong. But the only thing that is right in everybody's mind is that football is awesome, AJ Hawkins. You can certainly sense that this is a football town here in St.
College. You fly in. I can smell cows right now. There's cows on the other side of the stadium. There's a horse farm on the other side of the stadium. You can smell manure. You can smell the Breeders' Cup happening right on the other side.
And then you go through campus.Boy, it's alive. It is buzzing. We went to the bookstore, actually.Gumpy and I, whenever we got here, walked in.We said, hey, got any AQ Shipley jerseys in this place? Two stories.
Two stories, this bookstore, run by Barnes & Noble.Maybe the nicest store I've seen.It looked like a Dick's. on a single AQ Shipley jersey. That worried me.
That worried me a little bit, but I did get a chance to pick up this sweet hoodie and this sweet hat.Okay, pretty moderately priced.I think Gumpy and I both got a hoodie and a hat, paid 200 bucks. That feels like a good deal.
We want to contribute to Penn State. But this is for next week, you know, because next weekend's Washington is a whiteout.Tomorrow's game, not a whiteout because it's noon and I'll tell you, students here aren't happy that this is a noon game at all.
No, no, they want the night game. They want the, you know, they want the light show.
You could still technically do a whiteout in the daytime though, couldn't you?
You can definitely do the whiteout, but at night with the light show, with the light, with everything, and the day of buzz, and tailgating, it is, they're not happy that the world is getting a chance to watch a massive game here in Happy Valley.
Top five matchup, and you know, James Franklin's record in his top five games, and Ryan Day's record in his top five games.I think the Penn State people feel very good about their team.
They were hoping it was in primetime at night, and kind of display everything that is here.Fireworks, we can't be shooting fireworks off at noon game. Can't be doing daytime fireworks.
So I think there is a little bit of that feel about it being at noon, but they're ready to bring it.They're ready to show up.AJ, are your Ohio State boys ready?Boys ready to step in and take on Aller, who has a little bit of an injury.
He's got a little bit of an injury.
Is there any more information from that?
We'll ask James Franklin.I think the early reports from the internet saying he's going to play, but Singleton back being healthy, Allen being back healthy, I think they know what they are.
And then obviously that tight end Warner, Warner I think is his name.Tyler Warren.Yeah.Tyler Warren, he is phenomenal. He's a monster. Watching film on him today on the flight over, he's fun to watch. He played quarterback in high school.
They'll put him at quarterback for a couple different snaps. We got a good one, man.We got a really good Big Ten game here. And yeah, it's an honor to be here for sure.Last time I was here, AJ.
as the breeze picks up, and I guess this story is probably a good one to tell as this wind picks up.I think this was probably a good decision by Mike McQueary.Yes, that Mike McQueary. You're thinking, Mike McQueary, what do I know that name for?
Yes, that Mike McQueary.Okay, whenever I was a senior in high school, I didn't have a lot of schools looking at me, you know.Tone Diggs can account for this.Plum High School football wasn't necessarily just like a pipeline to Division I football.
So when I decided to start kicking junior year of high school, obviously had a big leg, did the whole thing.Didn't go to a lot of kicking camps, didn't know what the college football scouting world was.Remember, I was supposed to go play soccer.
That was kind of the focus since I'm like eight years old.Like, hey, this kid's probably going to be okay at soccer. We're going to focus on that.
Even though I played great football, pickup football, backyard football throughout my entire life, was an NFL fan, obviously grew up in Pittsburgh, loved the sport of football, played a lot. But everybody's like, let's not mess it up.
This kid probably has a chance playing soccer, which is very nice of everybody in Plum.I'm very grateful for that. But once I kick a football, obviously. I start demolishing footballs, like just mule-kicking footballs.
And they're going forward, and it's like, wait a minute, is this a business decision to potentially kick footballs? So I start playing high school football.I don't think I missed a kick in junior or senior year, whatever the case was.
But I didn't know the college scouting pipeline. And Coach Romito had a connection at Penn State, didn't have a connection at a lot of schools.Once again, we've chitchatted about the success of some high school football players going to D1.
He was a good man, obviously great pies on. Didn't necessarily have as many connections as like maybe a Central Catholic or Woody High or Gateway or any of these other schools that are Centerville High School in Ohio, you know, you get it.
So I go to the Penn State Kicking Camp before my senior year.It was the only thing I signed up to do, go to this Penn State Kicking Camp. And I'm told, you go up this camp, you kick well, Robbie Gold's on his way out.
He was a senior kicker at the time. They're offering a scholarship to somebody. So on Friday, I get up there, kick well.Saturday, Sunday, kick well. Then Sunday's like the competition, and they brought in a new guy, okay?
I'd been with all the boys at the kicking camp for the entire weekend.Ryan, who actually works for a college game day, was a part of that crew.We had a great time at this kicking camp. We're up here on campus doing the entire thing.
Got to hang out, got to see the facilities, got to listen to speakers, got to learn some stuff. And I'm just murdering balls all throughout, murdering, murdering, murdering.Comes a Sunday, we have a competition. This new kid is brought in.
He's a lefty kid. Haven't seen him all week, hasn't had to kick three times in the last two days.We have a competition, I beat him.Okay, clearly.
The boys who have been at camp the entire time, understanding that the competition was probably for a scholarship, seemingly happy for me too. These guys that I was competing against were like, you know what, this is probably the right guy.
Like, happy for me. After that, Tom Bradley, who's defensive coordinator for the Penn State Nittany Lions, Pittsburgh legend, starts sending me letters, has my face on the roster.
I mean, you're talking about, hey, you're going to be a Penn State Nittany Lion.I was so excited. So I had friends that played soccer at Penn State.Richie Costanza, at this point, played soccer at Penn State.
I think my friend Andy Mackey was going on to play soccer at Penn State. So it was like conversations happening about me playing soccer and kicking for Penn State.
This was real chatter happening and all of a sudden it's like, holy shit, I'm the cock of the walk.I didn't even know football world. Now I'm going to Penn State to, holy hell, this is a really cool thing.
So in your mind you're going to Penn State at that moment?
Yeah, all the letters I'm getting with my picture on the, like everything, like I'm going to Penn State, I'm going to Penn State.
So then during the fall, my senior year, on a Saturday, and I think I had a, I think I had a soccer tournament that we blew off, like a soccer tournament we blew off to come on a visit up here, you know, my dad and I would drive all the way up here, okay, it's, it is a haul, it is a drive from Pittsburgh, not as far as like from West Virginia or Ohio, you get it obviously, geographically that's going to be further, but it was still a drive to come up here, and I thought,
this weekend was going to be the biggest weekend of my life.
I get up here, we skip the soccer tournament, come up here, we get a chance to see some of the Hall of Fame stuff, and then before we go into the game to experience it all, Mike McQueary pulls me and my dad aside, and I'm like, here it is, this is when it's all coming down.
Mike McQueary looks at me and goes, I'm not sure you're Penn State material.Hindsight, good news at the time. But he says, I'm not sure you're Penn State material, so you're gonna have to earn it.
We're gonna offer you a preferred walk-on, okay, here at Penn State. My dad looks at him and goes, you think we can afford a loan to go to Penn State?Like, what do you think this is?We get in the car, we leave.
That was one of the worst days of my life.Had blew off a soccer tournament with a bunch of soccer coaches.Talked to no other schools because I was just locked in on Penn State.I went to kicking camp.I think I'm going to do that.
You're talking about like a very, very bad time in my life.Like very, very devastating.Very sad.I thought it was all over.I blew it with the soccer people. No football people even know that I exist.
And the school that was telling me that I was going to go to them, that I thought I was going to go, just lied to me. Completely. So my negative feelings towards Penn State all radiate from that particular weekend.
And I just got back here for the first time since then, really. And I'll tell you, with how windy it is, thank God I didn't have to do it. Thank God I didn't have to kick here.
It obviously all ends up working out, but it's like, this place, I thought I was going to be at Nittany Line. For months, I was like, I'm on Nittany Line, celebrating.
I think my dad was even getting in on it, learning the songs, learning the dance, like Sally McAfee, not really the biggest fan of a lot of people, you know, in the world.Definitely not Penn State people.
I don't think Sally McAfee is put on this earth to like, but she was even getting on board with the entire thing, and it was like, One conversation in this stadium changed the trajectory of my life completely.
So I guess it's a good thing with how it ended up working. But if me and A.Q.Shipley would have been teammates here in this campus, in this town, I'm not sure if it would have worked out for either of us anyways.
So it all ends up working out because it has to.But yeah, I was supposed to be here.
You're not Penn State material. Why would you have to word it like that?
Yeah, well, Kevin Kelly, I think Kevin Kelly, who would go on to be a good kicker, and also, I think his fodder went to Penn State.I think his fodder's fodder went to Penn State. That is very Penn State, I think. And he was a good kid, good dude.
I think he was quiet, worked hard.I threw that entire kicking camp.I mean, I'm holding court.Obviously, I'm having it. I'm having a good time.I am exactly who I am all the time.So I assume they saw that as well.
I was like, do we want to deal with this from the kicker?Which hindsight I can understand. But Kevin Kelly gets that scholarship and boy, I obviously hated Kevin Kelly for a long time.Long, long time.
Fast forward to after my rookie season, we go to the Super Bowl, we lose against the Saints. We have an off season there and I said, all right, I'm going to spend every dollar I have. I'm going to go travel the world.I'm going to have a blast.
Everything I get invited to, I'm going to go to and enjoy it all.I'd be in New York on a Thursday, Miami on a Friday, California on a Sunday, and in Morocco the next Wednesday.
Like I was living back in Pittsburgh for four days, living out of a suitcase. And we get back for OTA's first day.I'm about 45 pounds heavier.I haven't even thought about a football.Haven't even thought about a football.
And Vinatieri was going through a hip situation. And Bill Pullian or one of the coaches comes to me and Justin Snow, who was a snapper at the time, and was like, hey, can you snap and hold for a couple kickers after this OTA?
We're just gonna try to get some eyes on some guys or whatever for camp or whatever.I'm like, you got it, you got it, no problem, no problem.I haven't caught a football in months.
I've been literally just hammering boos from one side of the world to the other.Actually, one side of the world to the other.I go out there, guess who's kicking? Kevin Kelly. He's a lefty.I've never held for a lefty before, okay?
And boy, there was a lot of times where he was about to kick where, you know, if you're holding for a kicker, if you just move the tilt like boom, like that, guaranteed miss.Like guaranteed miss.Or if you just, if you lean it right towards, oh shit.
That'd be a bad hold too, you slipped that thing. You lean that thing towards him, that's a guaranteed miss to his right.I tried my best on every one of those holds.I told him what the wind was gonna do, and he had a pretty good day.
And it was at that moment I kinda put a bow on it all, and I was like, good luck to this man.It wasn't his fault, I hope he does good.I hope he gets a chance to go on and have an NFL career, because obviously he was great here at Penn State.
But I don't even know if he knows that, but boy, I hated him. And then I met him.He was a good guy.He was a great guy.He was a really good guy.He kicked well. And that's kind of my Penn State story in a nutshell.
But getting back up here, you can feel this place loves football. We got a chance to talk to the athletic director just a few moments ago.His name's Pat Craft.Played linebacker at Indiana University. He got a linebacker.
He got a linebacker as the AD here. Love that.
Yeah, I like that a lot and I think they're doing some renovations here.I don't know what's all public, so I don't want to, you know, kind of out anything, but they're spending hundreds.Hundreds of millions of dollars on this stadium.
I think to continue 111,000 people going to be here tomorrow for the new record, they said. It's gonna be a new record, but they're looking to really grow here.So it's an honor to be here, thankful to be here.
Should be a fun weekend and Ohio State doesn't have a clue what's coming to town. You know what I mean, what they're coming into.
Yeah, we'll see.I tell you what, they used to have like an unbelievable walk from the visitors locker room to the field. You're walking, there's like one little baby rope they're holding up, keeping you from the fans.
I think I've even heard Urban tell a few stories about like walking from the locker room to the field at Penn State.I would imagine it's still pretty similar where you're kind of walking through the crowd to get there.
I would think so.You know, a lot of tradition, obviously, a lot of tradition here. And you just think back to, you know, I grew up in Pittsburgh and telling we had too many Penn State people around us.
Yeah.I mean, it's only three hours away.So like, and Penn State, like Pitt and West Virginia have their fan bases and West Virginia is bigger than pitches because Pitt doesn't get that many just because of, of the Steelers being in town.
It's more of a pro town city, but like Penn State, I think there's more Penn State fans in the city than I think maybe any other college, if I had to take a guess.
And they're very proud. They are a very proud bunch. They are a very, very, very loyal bunch.
And they know, like, if they win this game tomorrow against Ohio State, it's like a 97 or something percent chance they make it into the college football playoff.
It's like, okay, this is a fucking college football playoff game tomorrow, basically, is what's happening here. And it just so happens to be old school.Big 33 rival, Ohio State coming to town. It's a beautiful thing, AJ.
It is truly a beautiful thing to be a part of.And I'll tell you what. Flying over Pennsylvania is great pilots.Let me tell you about it.Really?Love it.Great pilots.I think we... What was it, Mach 10 you think we hit?
Yeah, I think it was... We're pulling some G's on the way out. We're pulling some G's on the way out.Okay.I get an email obviously the day before, or text, I'm sorry, from my lady Karen, plain lady Karen. She's the best.
Greatest on earth at her profession.I think she would be good at anything. She's like... She's great.Karen is her name. She's the best. She sends me a text the day before. She looks ahead. She schedules it all.We don't have to really do anything.
It's awesome. She's a hero.Thank you, Karen, for everything. She sends me a text. How long the flight is, what FBL I'm flying into, and basically some projected takeoff times because the weather and wind and yada, yada, yada. You get it?
So I get a text yesterday. She's like, hour 35, hour 40. I go, okay, no problem. So we agree that it's like 7 a.m.takeoff, 7 a.m., 7.15 a.m.takeoff.I get there a little late, had a great morning with Mackenzie after a great night on Halloween with her.
I mean.Love that. That's so much fun.Her is bluey going by the grandparents' house.I mean, it was so cool.So I got a little caught up this morning with the wife and Mackenzie, you know, so a little bit later takeoff than expected. We get on the plane.
I think we're screwed, you know, because we were too far late.Pilot looks me right in the eyes.He goes, 50 minutes, we'll get you on the ground.
50 minutes.Whoa.50 minutes, 50 minutes.I said, I heard hour 30, hour 40.He said, we got to go win today.Go win today. So then we get up in the sky.Okay.We get up in the sky. We'll start rolling.
It's like by the time Gumpy and I got into like fourth song, fourth song, maybe fifth song, we're already putting Beep, beep, we're going in for a landing. It was like 45 minutes.I don't know how, we hopped in a time machine on the plane this morning.
And it was like a great setup for the entire weekend, the entire day.Vibes are high. Now, let's talk about what happened last night, AJ.
Speaking about vibes being high, if you're Aaron Rodgers and New York Jets, boy, what a relief that second half was.But also, what a time for Jets fans to maybe believe again.
I mean, whenever you're talking about one of the nastiest catches in the history of football and Garrett Wilson. I don't have a clue how that was a catch.I still don't fully comprehend.
Cause in the shin bone connected to the knee bone, because if I put my toes down and then my heel comes out of bounds, that's out.But shin to knees, whatever the case, I'm happy to count it and maybe they did acknowledge This is too filthy.
We gotta call this. Can we call this a touchdown?Let's call this a touchdown. This is sick, obviously. So insane.Great body control, if you count that as being in.The catch is absurd. The throw is awesome.
Just so much greatness there around that particular play. What Garrett did, what Devontae did, Brees Hall, Aaron making checks, the defense smothering C.J.Stroud.
All of a sudden, if you're a Jets fan, you can find reason to think we can go on a run again, A.J.I legitimately believe that.Devontae goes into the locker room for a concussion protocol.I didn't know that happened.I thought he'd go into the tent.
He goes into the locker room, 20 minutes, comes back, scores a touchdown.Okay.They were booing and chanting, sell the team, in the first half. And by the end of it, they were chanting, cayenne pepper.
This fan base has been obviously on a roller coaster.Last night was no different. But if you're a Jets fan this morning, let's go, AJ.I think they can do it.Why not?We got a lot of season left.
Yeah, why not?And I know Aaron will be with us here around 110 today. But yeah, right here, Jets fans have to feel great about Devontae here.Aaron looks out.He sees Devontae most likely in a one-on-one situation. Here we go.Absolutely.
The touchdown kind of ceiling throw right here. But you're right.Going back to Garrett Wilson's catch, though, Pat.So what is it?One shinbone equals what? One shin, two feet?Yeah, it's like a knee.Is it a forearm?
No, I think forearm counts as two, I think an ass counts as two, but I think the shin only counts as one, so I think it was foot-shin counts as two.
Yeah, if it was foot-shin.
Same foot, same leg. That's what's weird, same foot, same shin.Same leg! That's what kind of threw me off.
Yeah, but if it was two foots, that's not two feet.
One foot, one shin. Are they going to change the two foots, so two foots you're in?Two of the same one?
They have to.I mean, Jason Kelsey at halftime nailed it on Monday night. He was like, so hypothetically, guy catches a ball, hops one-legged for five yards because he can't get the other leg down for whatever. That was never a catch.
What do we, how do we, how do we kind of, maybe it's three hops on one foot equals two feet?I don't know. That should get clarified, and it seemingly never ends with these catches on what's a catch, what's not a catch.
These rules are so ticky tacky, like what's real, what's not.I'm happy that was called a catch because it's legendary, and I'm happy Garrett Wilson got to have that night that he had last night on primetime.
Because if you go back all the way to the beginning of his career, this guy's always potentially been a lightning rod.
You know, always had a chance to be great, was great with a bunch of quarterbacks that, you know, I don't even think we can list them all that were potentially thrown to him in a building, in a franchise that was kind of completely in disarray.
Now he gets Aaron Rodgers for the last two years. You think he's going to have breakout, breakout, breakout, breakout. This guy's going to become a superstar.
It is taking a little bit, but last night Garrett Wilson told everybody, yeah, it wasn't just the Garrett, A-I-R-I-T. Wilson catching was a no-look ball to a one-handed catch there. He did use the other hand to secure it.
Touchdown earlier, it's like this is what everybody thought the Jets could be and if you're the Texans, I think you're a bit worried going down the stretch. Can't protect your quarterback.
Aaron and the offense were able to open it up on you in the second half after making some adjustments and that's why I say AFC South's wide open, baby.Home playoff game is wide open right now.
CJ Stroud, a lot of people coming after him, you know, about a sophomore slump and everything. It's like, I think he is letting maybe the pressure get to him.
I think he is starting to wonder if he's going to have as much time as he had last year, because they can't protect a damn thing.
Wasn't it eight sacks at least?Yeah, eight of them.
Yeah, wasn't there five last year or five last week for the Colts? It was like, that's a lot of times getting hit on a regular basis.Let alone the sacks, all the pressures, people at his feet, hitting him.
It's like, people want to throw, you know, rocks at CJ Stroud. It's like, I don't think any quarterback. would be able to kind of withstand the punishment that he has had to take because this offensive line can't figure it out.And what did A.Q.
Shipley, Penn State legend, say the other day, con man?Didn't he say, that's like they're starting a line too. This isn't like injuries or anything. These are like, these are their guys not being able to block shit.
Yeah, no injuries.Guys paid.I believe the left tackle and right tackle both paid.Obviously Tunsell and then Howard. And then they traded for Shaq Mason. He's a top pick from New England. And then I think the other guys as well.
It really is one of those things where I don't know if they can't get open on the outside because Tank Dell had a great day.But without Diggs and Nico Collins, it's one of those things where if you are a Texans fan, you've been bit by the injury bug.
CJ Stroud's getting killed.Joe Mixon's great. They were running the ball real well with the O-line, but when it comes to Passborough, I don't know what the deal is with the Texans, but they're not getting it done, and the Jets found something.
They are buzzing over there right now.
Quinn and Williams, I think I said yesterday, he's going to have a big day, just strictly off of what DeForest Buckner did the week before. It was like he did.Game record.Hassan Reddick, eight pressures or something like that, I think.
It's like, welcome to the Jets, Hassan Reddick. Listen, Coach Brick's saying all the right things.Aaron's saying all the right things.Everybody's saying all the right things after that game.
Schedule lines up too, Pat.
Schedule kind of lines up well for them.We checked the history as well.Just a little tidbit.I don't know.Schedule.A little bit.
Rodgers, when they were 2-6 with the Packers in 2016, to go on that run where they won all those games, they did beat the Texans 21-13.Same exact thing as last night.
Hashtag stat that.Look out.It might start right now.He might have gone back into the darkness and saw the history of what he used to do and what they did do.And this might be the beginning of a long run for these New York football Jets.
I hope so.That'd be good for Tuesdays. He'll be joining us.It'd be great for Tuesday.
He wants to win. They all need to win.
Well, last night he talked about it to the Amazon Nightcap show? What's that?Nightcap I think is what they call it?
Yeah, post-game nightcap.
Ty, I can't believe you have a voice.
Honestly, me neither.Me neither. If I just talk normal, it's okay. But anytime I try to do anything else, it's a little sore.
Hey Ty, bravo yesterday, brother.
Appreciate it.Thank you.It was a fun show.Yesterday was a lot of fun.
I'm gonna still call it that.I watched that clip on a plane this morning probably seven times.
I didn't get to watch any of the clips, you know, last night really until late night, because I go home, do the Halloween thing, we're invested, I lay down, then I check and open the internet, it's like, okay, now I'm in the middle of some panda.
Whoa, whoa, whoa.I had no idea. What about that?
I didn't see that coming.Pat, who did you get to print off that fake label for your syrup that you put on Instagram, that Bush Miller?
Okay, so with that being said, so I checked the internet reaction, I'm like Jesus Christ, can you do a little bit more research on me maybe, these people that I go, just a little bit, tiny bit, that would be very nice.
And I didn't know that, I genuinely wore that because Conor doesn't believe they're actual animals. So that's part of our program in this entire thing.
So as I go through the whole night, I don't really get a chance to look back and see what the internet is saying. It wasn't until later, I'm like, holy hell, what's going on here?
Your Hulkster stuff, there was probably three clips that I cried to last night, late night.Wife trying to fall asleep.I'm giggling, cackling, crying. So I just want to let you know, Ty, I appreciate the hell out of what you did.
Appreciate you guys, appreciate you guys. Thanks for giving me the platform to do it.
Now, with that being said, I heard Hulkster really liked it too, brother.
He did.He said the only thing missing was, you know, a great American beer, which I should have thought of that. That was clearly a miss.
Yeah, Hulks are certainly trying to plug that beer, get that beer going.I hope it moves in way too political of a time for Terry Bollea to join the show, but we'll certainly hope to get on in a few weeks. After the trade deadline, maybe?
After the trade deadline! We'll have Terry on in it all, but go back to last night, after watching that game, it's like,
I could sense that Aaron understands that there's a long road still when he was talking to Fitz and Tony and Sherm and the boys and Chris who's dressed up like Travis Kelsey and him and Brick obviously get along. That was another push to the chest.
We're not hug guys here.Shout out to Salah.I think they were paying homage to Salah as opposed to people saying he's talking shit to Salah.I don't think that's the case at all. We'll hear from him at 1-10.
Also, there's a moment with D'Amico after the game that's making its rounds. We'll talk about that at 1-10 with Aaron and all.But it's like, the way he talked was like, we're not worried about the playoffs right now.
We're worried about, like, we're worried about right now. That is too far-fetched right now.We understand the hole we're in.We're gonna go work.Coach Brick saying the same exact thing. Now, we gotta hold on to the ball when we're going to the end zone.
I can't see it anymore.I can't see it anymore.
Corley, so we talked earlier, he was genuinely so excited to score a touchdown. It wasn't like, hey, I'm showboating here, I'm gonna drop this ball like we've seen in the past.
I feel like this was an innocent, it was his first touchdown ever in the NFL, obviously still yet to get that after this.
Second carry, second ever carry as a rookie. Now, you've made it through football to get to the NFL, so just saying rookie doesn't necessarily excuse you.But keep that ball, you're a rookie, keep that ball.
I think that should be like a new rule, keep the ball. We were done with the dropping the ball before we get into the end zone because we're going to just keep the ball.He learned from this and Aaron talked about this.
He said our goal was to have 28 points. He said, I think we did.I think we did.At least we have a little situation at the goal line.So they're in good spirits, but I know that they all know they have a long way to go, AJ.
The NFL started out with a bang. That first half was horrendous.Boy, that was a horrendous display of professional football. But that second half got real good, real quick.Shout out to Thomas Morstead, too.
I'd like to give a shout out to Thomas Morstead. He had a 75-yard punt. That was a perfect ball right there, too, to start this entire thing. And there was a lot of shipping and talks about him.
Coach Belichick brought up, I don't know if you just lobbed one down in the middle of the field last week. And then yesterday, Chuck Pagano brought it up in his thing. He was like, I don't know if you just punt the ball down the middle of the field.
Thomas Morstead heard all of that.He heard the Cayenne Pepper shots. And he put on a show last night. He was our best player for about three quarters.75-yard punt, perfection, pinning him.
Thomas was drafted the same year as me, three rounds ahead of me, because he was a much more talented punter. And he taught me how to punt.
But him on that Cayenne Pepper with a little bit of spite, Aaron doing the same thing, feels like that team could be coming together, AJ.
On the flip side though, what about the Texans?I know we talked briefly about them.AQ predicted the fact that this offensive line is not playing up to their potential. What do we do now?Like, Ty, you're the Houston Texans.Do you panic?
I think you have to trade for someone before the trade deadline.
Yeah, O-line.I mean, obviously receiver, but they're going to get Nico Collins back next week and that should help quite a bit.But to what Pat was saying about just
like when you're under that much pressure all night, even when CJ had a little bit of a clean pocket, like he was just skittish and he was skipping balls.
How could you not be?Sometimes he's getting that thing and he's got the push that Quinn and Williams were able to get from the inside is unbelievable.
And it started early, you know, there's that the strip sack in the red zone and Pat mentioned it, that eight sacks last night, five against the Colts, four against the Packers the week before. This isn't just like a, hey, we'll kind of figure it out.
They need help and they need it right now, especially with that division. It looked early on like they might run away with the AFC South. That's not the case. Before you know it, they could be missing the playoffs if they don't address this.
Yeah, they're going to have to figure it out quick, but I think Pat is on location with our first guest here of the day.Pat, what's up?Who you got there?
Ladies and gentlemen, the head ball coach of the Penn State Nittany Lions, James Franklin.Back in Indiana.I appreciate it.And outside there, they're clapping for you.At the cow farm down there, the horse farm, they're all clapping for you.I love it.
This is a magical place. You can feel it whenever you get here. How awesome is Happy Valley on this type of weekend?I'm sure you can sense the excitement. How do you feel one day before?I don't want to put this pressure on you.
All the stats people, you win this game tomorrow, like 98% chance you're in a college football playoff. You don't need to think about that.Obviously, you don't need to think about that.
But how is the energy, though? How is the energy? How do you feel?Well, let me say this.First thing, I love your energy.I think I'm an energy guy, so I had like 14 cups of coffee before coming over here to match your energy. But yeah, it's awesome.
I don't know how many times you've been here, but this is a special place.I've been fortunate to coach in every major conference in the NFL, and not even just football specific. If you're a sports fan, you gotta come experience this.
It'll be electric and the town's already buzzing.
111,000 people, they said, are going to be in here tomorrow, which is absurd.I talked to your athletic director. They're planning on investing even more into the stadium to make it even better, to make the future of Penn State better.
And everybody's talking about everything that has happened with your Penn State teams.I want to talk about this Penn State team.Feels different. Can we talk a little before we get into that?
Because can we be friends again?Because West Virginia week, you were talking a ton of trash. And then I was being really positive about you and your show.Boys!I was being really positive about you and your show.
But now you're in town and we're best friends. We could not be if you'd like to be.I could pick Ohio tomorrow if you'd like me to do that.Except we like Penn State.Whenever you said the Bulletin Board material, that was the only clip we saw.
So we got offended that you didn't take it as us just talking shit as if we had to.Like you normally do.Bingo! Yeah, I am talking shit to everybody with this Western team.
But you know, as a coach, if you've got bulletin board material, you've got to use it.
Okay, and you guys seemingly did.Two hours delay. You guys are in a smaller locker room over there.
But that was your favorite part of the game, wasn't it?The two hour delay?
Well, I thought there was a chance that your team was going to be worse than our team after a two hour delay because you guys don't have as good of facilities as we had. That's correct.
You guys came out and just beat our ass after that two-hour delay. And then you talk about this team, and I want to talk about it.
Yeah, let's talk about this team.Because I guess I had to bring that up.
No, but I think that's a good starting point that West Virginia game, because what I saw from your team felt different. It did.It felt different.A little bit more of dogs, seemingly. Not that you don't always have that.
Felt like it was a lot more scope, more power.Obviously, the two runners are great.Allard has great leadership.Weapons down the field.New offense coordinator helping out.Does this team feel different for you this year? Can you sense that?
Yeah, I would say that.I mean, obviously you look at our USC game, you look at the West Virginia game, we've had to win a ton of different ways and we found ways to do it.And as you know, as a football team, you're going to have to do that.
There's going to be some weeks you may be able to blow people out. There's other weeks you're going to have to come back in the fourth quarter. It shows the character of a team and I think you build yourself that way.
What the hell?Practice in the flyover, I guess. It's just standard day in Happy Valley? That's what we do around here.We have flyovers for practice. Most people for big games, we do it every day for practice. I'm happy they're on our side.
I can't see it.I know it's behind you, right?Okay.Okay.You got eyes on it.Yes, sir.Different this year.
You got eyes on that. That's right. That's right. You got everything rolling. You're talking about being callous, though, and having to go through different things.First half of that USC game, obviously AQ Shipley, close friend of mine.I'm on a flight.
I don't land until halftime.I'm like, what's going on?USC, what's the deal?AQ's not real happy. He said, let's pound the ball.Let's pound the ball.Do you want that type of mentality on your team, especially with the way you are?
Or how do you want people to view your team?
I think the biggest thing is balance, right? And what I mean by that is there's going to be games where you're going to have to run the ball to win, and there's going to be games where you're going to have to throw the ball to win.
And having the ability to do that, I think, really defines really good teams.Weather could impact that. The opponent you're playing could impact that.
And we've shown the ability to do both, which is obviously what you're going to need to do to continue to progress.
AJ Hawk, Ohio State legend, has a question for you.
Coach, Tyler Warren, obviously an awesome tight end for you guys. Can you explain a little bit what he does for your offense?
Tyler Warren, he said, yeah, awesome guy.Can you explain what he does only for your offense whole team?
Yeah.Sorry, AJ, I couldn't hear you.
No, it's all right. That's smart, Ohio State. The hell with it.
Tyler, you'll get a chance to spend some time with him. He's said literally 14 words in five years at Penn State. He's a blue-collar guy. When we first started recruiting, he was committed to Virginia Tech as a quarterback.
I think that speaks to the type of player he is.What I mean by that is Our offense coordinator is doing a heck of a job in being really creative, but you better have a player that can do those types of things.
He can take a snap under center, he can do the cadence, he can throw the ball, he can run the ball. And when you got a smart player that's also athletic enough to do those things, that's when you can really take advantage of it.
Penn State very much known for defense.I mean that is just historically, this is linebacker U, we're gonna be tough, it's Pennsylvania, all that type of stuff.
How do you feel about your defense going against these weapons that Ohio State has tomorrow?
Yeah, it's always a challenge, right?Wide receiver, they always have some of the best wide receivers in the country. They got three of them again this year.
They got a true freshman that's probably like nothing we've ever seen in college football as a true freshman. They got two tailbacks, one that we've already faced when he was at Ole Miss.
So there's talent all over the field, but that's year in and year out with Ohio State. They do a great job.As you know, it's always going to start up front.
We're going to have to do a great job with both lines of scrimmage to hopefully limit the impact that those guys make.
This is the fourth top five matchup of college football already, which is awesome.College ball is showing up in a big way, but it's still early in the season. You got a lot still ahead of you after this particular game.
What is your messaging to the team about expectations this week, but also anything that could potentially happen going forward?
Yeah, not talking about really anything in the future. We never really talk about rankings. We never really talk about the future.
We did at the beginning of the season, like, okay, these are our goals, these are our expectations, but then really don't talk about it again after that.
We just got to find a way to play really well against a really good opponent in Ohio State, and then next Sunday will be start all over again.
Boys, I don't know if you know this, and I don't know if you can hear them, but see, hey, Ty, can you chirp coach real quick?
Yeah, Penn State stinks.Yeah, I can't hear anybody back there.
Okay, you can't hear anything, so we'll keep, hey, to hell with you boys.
Boys, I don't, boys, yeah, if you want to chirp a word in my ear, I will bring you like an impractical Joker's like punishment if you want to do that entire thing like we had with the Oregon Duck.
I talked to your athletic director, former linebacker, by the way. You got a linebacker as an athletic director.I love that.Pat Craft seemed like a dude.He chit-chatted, though, about the most amount of CEOs in the country come from Penn State.
I guess Penn State has the most CEOs across the country, let alone the amount of money that comes through here.Modern world college football have to have that backing.
Here, I assume everything is good for the modern era of college football for you and for the future?Well, I think to your point,
Pat Craft has been a game changer for us.Linebacker into Big Ten, he runs the ship that way.You know what I'm saying? He is aggressive in everything he does, and that's changed. We have not been that way.
This place has got great history and tradition, but Pat is being aggressive in everything year-round, and now we're starting to operate like a program that is realistically and legitimately trying to win national championships.
That starts with Pat Craft.
I guess we've got hundreds of millions of dollars going into this stadium.I couldn't even imagine the facility.Good for him, good for you guys. Not a night game.
I guess students aren't necessarily thrilled about that because they want to showcase what they are to the world? Is that what you think it is?
Well, I think what happens is if you look at us historically, Ohio State and Michigan every other year has been the white out and it's been at night. Correct. It's been at night. So this is not what we're used to.But the reality is nobody cares.
It's a 12 o'clock game.We better embrace that it's a 12 o'clock game.And we need this place rocking.So no one cares.No more talking about that.You can talk about it.We're not talking about it anymore.I won't talk.
We need this place rocking no matter what time the game is.I'm going to lead game day tomorrow with it.
I love it.But don't hear it.Don't hear it.We'll tune it out.Yeah, tune it out completely.
Is it always this windy in here? No, it's probably a little bit more windy than it normally is.Typically, the wind blows in the opponent's face.We have the ability to do that here.Yeah, I bet you do.
All the CEOs in the country, yeah. They can control the wind here.I'm not doing it.I'm not saying it.Gumpy, are you saying it?
They control the weather here.I can hear Gumpy.
Why can you hear him, but not the guys back there?Well, Gumpy actually has a question for you, Coach.Gumpy, let's go, man.
Yeah, James, we need you to beat Ohio State tomorrow, alright?I'm tired of hearing about it.I'm tired of it from Ohio State. How are we feeling? We're going to pound the rock tomorrow. You know, the USC game kind of threw it around a little bit.
Didn't pound the rock like you usually do.What's the plan for tomorrow? He's talking about A.Q.
Shipley right there. That's directly through A.Q.
Shipley.Yeah, I get it. Yeah, I think obviously we've had a ton of success in my 11 years here. But I also understand the standard and the expectation here is national championships. We totally embrace that. We've had some great games against them.
We've found a way to beat them the one year. We're gonna have to find a way to do it on Saturday. That's all anybody cares about. That's all anybody wants to hear. And that's why we're here. What's the rest of the day look like for you?
Rip it and run it all over the place. We've got practice here in a little bit I got a couple other responsibilities I got to make but at the end of the day, most importantly, we got our Friday walkthrough.
You already have your speech ready for tomorrow morning?
I'm not a big pregame speech guy.Okay, I like that.
And AJ's saying yes, we like that as well.If you need to give one last message before have any of your messages hit, really, what has been the message of this week?
My message, I give them Sunday through Friday. If I have to wake up and get them fired up to run into a 110,000 seat stadium, we've got bigger problems than win one for the Gipper, right?
So at the end of the day, it's always about creating explosive plays and limiting explosive plays and the turnover battle. There are two most important stats in all of football.
Tone, you might have to correct me.I think last year you guys had like 40-some explosive plays all season. You're already at 33 explosive plays, I think, right? Is that the number?
Yeah, and that's a big reason why Andy Koldenicki's here, right? We really actually were pretty good offensively except in that area, and it's too important of a stat. that dictates the success of college football. So we made a change there.
That's been a big improvement for us both in the pass and run. That's going to be big against this team that we're playing on Saturday. And then I think at the end of the day, like I mentioned before, you got to dominate the line of scrimmage.
O-line, D-line always is going to dictate college football.
What's your favorite meal in town here in State College?
Uh, probably the Field Burger, the Franklin Burger at the Field.Yeah, you gotta go get that. It's a Franklin Burger?Oh yeah.
What is it?We got chips on it?We got fries?
Well, you're not gonna like it.Because it's very unlike Pittsburgh with the fries on top of the salad. It's a turkey burger. It's a healthy... I don't like turkey burgers!Excuse me!Excuse me!
Now, Connor, I don't know if you can hear him. What?Connor's not happy that it is a turkey burger that represents you.I would like that. You should hope he's gonna fit this guy.
Let me explain something. He's fit.Look how fit he is.I took my shirt off. It's embarrassing.I'm a skinny, fat guy. Me too.
They forced me to take my shirt off every game day.
But you got the guns exposed.Yeah, that's why I wear tank tops and everything else.Smart.Yeah, yeah.See, you can maybe start doing that on the sideline.Okay, so we got a turkey burger.
What's on, is there... Turkey burger. To be honest, I'm not sure it's a turkey burger, no, but it's delicious.Coach hasn't had this thing.Yeah, yeah, okay.Okay. What radio shows they had last night?
Okay, radio show, Penn State fans, very cultish.Okay, that's a compliment, not a negative.SEC has a lot of cults.Big Ten has a few.Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State.Passion.Passion, exactly.Yeah.Culty.Passion.Positive cults.Loyalty.
Yeah, yeah, positive cults. These are good cults, not bad cults. Not Waco. Fans got to be very excited.I assume the radio show, Buzz, is very, very hot.
Yeah, this place is rocking.
And, you know, I think the other thing is not only is it big because it's Ohio State and it's game day and McAfee's show's here and big noon kickoff, but also what we've done to six other games previous to make this a big game.
So I'm proud of our guys and how we've handled our business, but this place will be rocking.Have you been here?
I was only here one time.McQuinney told me it wasn't Penn State material.I left before the kickoff. That was it? I said I don't have time to sit around and watch this if I'm going to have to pay for school.
Are you going to be here for the game?
Yeah, I'll be here.I'm going to be on the... I don't know where our set's going to be whenever we come in.Maybe here? They know.Oh, the other side.So I'll probably be down that corner. What side are you on?We're on this side.
Yeah, so I'll be in the corner. But then you've got to come on down.
Yes!Trick plays.Trick plays.
Touchdowns are all yours. They're yours.I'll get a headset. They're yours.I'll do the whole thing. What is your normal game day vibe like?Because remember, I have seen you... There's been some moments here.
Yeah, yeah.I'm an emotional, I'm a passionate guy, but I think the older I get, I try to kind of be a little bit more balanced, but yeah, I get fired up.We like the passion though.
I don't like whenever people, because then the players too.
But ultimately you got to stay true to who you are, right? So I got it.I think that's the most thing is you got to be authentic and I'm an emotional guy in both directions. So that's who I'm going to be on the sidelines.
Man, Coach, we appreciate the help. It's a shame you couldn't hear from the Ohio State. That's what I'm saying.I would have loved to talk to the guys back at home.I mean, just know that they love you.Right, boys?
That's a great question.Yeah, I don't know if there's a delay.I think Connor was like, turkey burger?I mean, I'm 50-50.
Yeah, I don't know. Sorry, guys, I appreciate you.I didn't like what you did to West Virginia. We're supposed to win.But we're past that now.Like, we've grown. We are.You had your feelings.I had my feelings.
You kind of used that as material on the show, took some shots. No, I didn't take any shots.Yes, you did. That's what you do.That's what you do.You do that, Pat.I did the same thing with my team, bulletin board material.
So we both won.Everybody won.Just so I know, what we were saying, because West Virginia was going to win national championship going in. That's not funny.Still a chance, still a chance, still alive.
Just so you know, you talk about pre-game speeches.I didn't say anything.I just rolled a TV out.A monitor substitute teacher.I showed you talking shit. And then we ran on the field. But that was at halftime. But I didn't do it until after halftime.
Two hour delay, boys are getting bored.Hey, why don't we turn on a little local show here from yesterday?Yeah, because you had that place rocking. It was going crazy.Dude, I did not expect that.Come on.I genuinely did not.
Every time it happens, I get surprised by it.But that place was a buzzsaw. And I don't even want to dive into West Virginia. On the up and up.You kind of stole all of our happiness.I just want to like, you did it.Let's talk about happiness.
Keegan Michael Key.Yeah, my guy.Guest picker tomorrow. You and him get along very well.
Yeah, so he came out, he's a Penn State grad, got his master's degree here and came out to be the grand marshal of the homecoming parade. We met, we kind of hit it off.He came and did the deal with the team, which was phenomenal.
And then I flew out to New York for his birthday party, had a great time, but he's been awesome.
I was in New York, that was probably really nice.
Yeah, New York City, it was phenomenal. It was funny, I was with my ops guy and I kept saying like, hey, I think I know that guy.I was like, there's like all these people there.I'm like, I think I know, he goes, you don't know that guy.
I'm like, I think I do.He's like, that's Michael J. Fox, you don't know him.
Like, there's all these people. No, I know all of you.And he knows you, especially with what you've been able to do with this program.
And I think with the new alignment and everything that's happening, and the 12-team playoff, and Pat Craft, I think we got nothing but bright, sunshiny, windy-ass days here in Happy Valley.Congratulations, and thank you for stopping by.
I appreciate it.How do you spell that? What's that?Program.P-R-O-G-R-U-M, just like it sounds.
Love that. What do you say? I say Brooklyn. My dad's from Pittsburgh.Hill District.Bedford Avenue.I didn't know that.Yeah, man.I grew up just outside of Philadelphia.Oh, you grew up on the wrong side of the state.Depends how you look at it.
You're a Penn State coach. It's perfect.Dad's from Pittsburgh.I grew up just outside of Philadelphia.Hill District, too.
Good place for your dad to be from.Bedford Avenue.Yeah, whenever you're recruiting.I think it's a great spot.
Absolutely. And I wish I could have been here.I wish I could have been a Penn State alum.
If we do it all over again, we would.Damn shame.
Man, me and AQ would not have survived in this place together.
I disagree. No, we would not have, coach.I don't know if Happy Valley would have survived.
Good luck tomorrow.Thanks.We appreciate you.Thank you so much.Ladies and gentlemen, James Franklin. They're clapping, they're clapping. They're saying good stuff. They're saying really good stuff.
Great stuff, pal.Even the Ohio State guy?He can't hear me.
AJ, what'd you say about that? How'd you think he did right there?
Oh, he did amazing.I love his shoes look good. The jumpsuit looks good. And I love that he's ripping and running all day long, too.
I love it.He said he loves your shoes, loves the jumpsuit, and loves that you're ripping and running all day long.He said get exhausted before the big Ohio State game.
Where's his cigar?I like AJ with the cigar.
Yeah, I don't know why he doesn't smoke at the Thunderdome.
It's Pat's studio. He says no one's allowed to smoke.I like that version of AJ.
He said in that studio, nobody's allowed to smoke. That is a lie.Wow.There's somebody smoking in there every day.You don't say.I'm not getting out of here on that.Uh, okay.Uh, your life. You win tomorrow.Obviously, that's the mindset.
Are you recruiting? How many recruits are coming in for this one?Big one?
Yeah, we got about 150.And usually, I'm out recruiting right now.I've gone out every Friday of the year during the day that I usually fly back for practice.I usually fly out for a game.
This is the first Friday I've actually, I got to sleep in this morning until 6 a.m.It was awesome.
Okay, well enjoy it all, man.150 recruits are about to see a great show from these fans and from your team.Unrivaled.
Unrivaled. They started that when I first got here, but it wasn't really my deal. It's a good name, though.
But what's good about it, it comes from the fact that we're not an original Big Ten team, so we don't really have a natural rival except for really Pitt, geographically.
But even when we played Pitt in that four-game series, we hadn't played him in 30 years, so it's hard to say... People forgot. Yeah, it's hard to say that you're a rival and you haven't played in 30 years.
I think Pitt, West Virginia, and Penn State should play each other.Every year.Yeah, I think so.Let's do it.And with the new world, that should be able to happen pretty easily.
Let's do it on the same weekend.Let's do a round robin.Let's put Pitt, West Virginia, Penn State, and just by quarter, rotate.Yeah, you know who's going to win that.Penn State.
You're wearing a white, man.It looks good on you.It is pretty sweet.I mean, the hat, I mean, I think the hat was like 60 bucks because we're on a good observation.
The hoodie, I mean, it's a little tight on my big dome, but I'll say it felt good when I put it on.Yeah, it looks good.
Thanks, brother. Why did you wait until that?I didn't know how close we were.Remember, we did the whole shit talk thing. But I can't wait for that.
No, but no it's my favorite deals is when Saban came on the first time when you guys were really together and you're going berserk and he's sitting there next to you like trying to figure out like is this really what I'm about to deal with for the whole football season?
You know what I mean?He's in our facility right now.Is he?Yeah.That's probably a good guy to have.Yeah, that's right.You should probably go get him.Yeah, I mean, the guy's a legend.Why wouldn't you learn something?Everywhere we go.
You should talk to the guy and learn as much as you can.Everywhere we go, he goes to the walkthroughs.I think the coaches are like, ask him.Why wouldn't you?You already know this, so I'm not telling you anything different.
I think he's very comfortable with any question you got for him.And I think he's very thankful for it.These game day meetings turn into him telling stories.Obviously, he's 50 years of coaching or whatever.
And I was in the SEC when he was in the SEC, so very familiar.Where at?Vanderbilt.I was the head coach of Vanderbilt.
Oh yeah, I remember that. Was Herb Hand with you down there?
Yeah.Yeah, I think he was.Yeah, he was.Love Herb Hand.He used to be able to delete beer. You want to hear a great story about Herb Hand?Would love to.So Herb loves, he can drink beer.Yes.Herb loves to cook.
So he comes up to me in the summer and says, hey, I want to go on this show Chopped. And I'm like, fine, go on the show Chopped.Well, he gets on the show, which I never thought he'd get on.And it's like during game week.
So he comes up to me, he goes, hey coach, I got on.I'm like, oh, awesome. He's like, whoa. I gotta go film this.I'm like, you can't go film.So he goes and films show where's all this Vanderbilt gear.We won the game, thank God.
But yeah, he went and filmed an episode of Chopped in season.
Herb Hand was a tight end in special teams coach at West Virginia. And there's a place called Mario's Fishbowl in Morgantown, where they used to have these fishbowls of beer, okay?
And they would obviously time you and the records were put on napkins on the wall.Herb Hand topped it. Yeah, he could crush it.He never did it with us though, which was probably very professional.
But I walk in there like 5-10 minutes after he was done, they're like, new record from your coach. And I look up and I try to get him.
He's also a big karaoke guy.
He's an energy guy, just like you.Love your energy.Good luck this weekend.Appreciate you, man.Ladies and gentlemen, Coach James Frank. Appreciate you, Coach.
Yeah, okay.Diggs, okay.I wanted to know when I was listening to Coach talk, which I appreciate him and all of his time.Great stories.Herb Hand can drink, can pound beers. What a weapon.Tell him, where are the betters at this week?Where are the sharps?
Where are, like, where's all the money? So for this game right here, Penn State.
So the line right now is Ohio State minus three or minus three and a half, depending on what book you look at.And 70% of the money is on Ohio State.
So, you know, a lot of public thinks that Ohio State has this advantage here because they have had, you know, coach Franklin's number and Penn State's number over the last, however many years it's been.
But it's an interesting one because it feels a little different this year. But but yeah, the people still believe in Ohio State.
What do you think?I mean, look, Penn State, I get it.It's sweet.AQ Shipley says all the time, we beat up on the bad teams and then the big dogs come and we lose to the big dogs.
It just feels like, especially because like the talk right now is, you know, Ohio State almost got caught by Nebraska.Like Nebraska was coming off a 50 point.I think that's bad for Penn State.I think that's bad for Penn State.Yeah.
Nebraska is coming off a 50 point loss.Ohio State this whole week is talking about how, hey, they, maybe they lost a step.Maybe they are.
Nobody's, nobody's giving Ohio State. At all. They shouldn't be, which is a great spot to be in if you're the coach. You are constantly being told you guys are not living up to what you should be.
For sure.Because Nebraska got blown out, I think teams or maybe people just in general don't think Nebraska is a good team.Nebraska is a great team.Matt Rule even said it after.
It is the first time we've ever had a championship mindset in our locker room and so it feels like maybe we're overreacting to Nebraska, Ohio State and
not overreacting to Penn State, because they're still a great football team, but I just think, you know, when it comes to tiering these teams, you know, Tone Diggs did his tiers at the beginning of the year, and Oregon and Ohio State were in a class of their own, and it still feels that way.
I still have the utmost faith in Ohio State.
I think a big part of this, too, like Will Howard came out earlier in the week and said, like, hey, I'm from Pennsylvania.I wanted to go to Penn State.Like, they didn't want me.They didn't think I was good enough.
So I think like, especially after what happened at Oregon with him sliding and not really knowing the clock situation and them losing that way, I think he's probably going to be rearing to go and you would assume, you know, you would know better, AJ, being in Columbus, but his teammates have kind of really taken to him and they love him.
I think they're going to want to show out for him as well.I would expect Ohio State to be very ready to go for this one.Yeah, I think they will. How do you feel about it?
I feel great.I feel great. It's coming off of that, that close victory with against Nebraska.
Like I, I look at that as a positive almost, Hey, they didn't roll through them 60 to nothing, but they, they faced some adversity when they needed to play, they needed to drive. They did it.And they, they ended up winning.
I just, you know, if their defense could continue to kind of play on the other side of the line of scrimmage, you know, get a bunch of TFLs, hopefully get pressure on the quarterback.I think Ohio state's fine. They got tons of talent everywhere.
Are they missing anybody?
Is there anybody out front? The whole line is down their top two tackles.I know that's the national narrative worry about the Ohio State in this game.I don't know if it is locally.
No, because it's next man up.Next five star. The guys behind you are four and five stars.
Yeah, but next man up's a guard.Next man up is a guard.Aren't they moving a guard over to tackle?
You know, the guard that played tackle in high school, I'm sure, for the majority of it.But that's the thing, though. It doesn't matter.Everybody wants their chance.Everybody on that roster is a highly recruited guy, most likely.
So yeah, I think you're expected to step in and, hey, business as usual.
Well, and I respect and appreciate that as player and as team pitching that.Just like James was like, nobody cares, it's a noon game.Nobody cares.Okay, we are, it's a noon game. Okay, we move on.Like, that is... I like this energy there, right?
Didn't feel tight at all.Oh yeah.Didn't feel tight at all.And Penn State Wrestling, who's obviously... Yeah, a wagon.
Yeah.Yeah, Cale.Cale's team brought this over.I got a gift box from Penn State Wrestling. That's awesome. We got hats in here.We got a couple shirts in here.I think there's a tank top in here. That's it.I'm very grateful for.
Yeah, these national champs, like by far, right?
Yeah, they're unreal.Like really, ever since Kale Sanderson got there, they have taken off.
They plucked him from where Iowa State, he was a coach at Iowa State, I think, and then Penn State dropped a bag and then he came over and I don't think they've lost since.I think they've won
He is the greatest collegiate wrestler of all time.Went undefeated, won a gold medal, was at Iowa State for a little bit.
I don't think Penn State was bad by any stretch of the imagination, but now when it comes to Big Ten wrestling, it's not just Iowa and that's it.It's Penn State, it's Iowa, and then it's everyone else.
Yeah, I didn't want you to have to say that because I knew that would hurt.I think it is.No, it's real.
Yeah, it's real. And then everybody else. They had four individual champions at this last, I just looked it up.Damn.
And remember, we learned about it because Matt Madness, which they need to change when that happens. They have that on like the first Saturday of March Madness.Yeah.Yes.
And there was like two basketball games during March Madness that were crop, absolute crop.So I went over to Matt Madness and I was like, What? That should be, maybe they do that like the day before March Madness.
You know, like two days before March Madness.Yeah, that Wednesday. It is electrifying and Penn State ran it.I didn't know that Penn State was the wrestling school.I mean, this Pat Craft guy, this A.D.dude, A.J., he is awesome.
He runs it like a linebacker, you said. What does that mean? He's all business, just continuing moving forward or what?First of all,
Nice clean dab.Greeting.You need that.Just immediately.Boom, pal.Didn't know who he was.Walks over with AQ Shipley on FaceTime. And I go, AQ, I tried to buy your jersey.Nobody's got it.You suck. And I said, who are these guys?
And AQ goes, that's the athletic director.I go, oh, shit.Nice to meet you, man.Like, that is literally how it happened. And so cool investing this place.Real deal, brother. If you can get out here.

I'm A.J.Hawk. Football! That's what we're doing.Pat, what are you doing? We got more flybys happening?Like, what is happening? Are you being attacked?
So I was getting a message.I got a message that said about 1.02, there might be some F-18s to fly overhead.Lo and behold, 1 o'clock flat, I got two F-18s flying right over the stadium.
They are from the VX-9 squadron based out of the Naval Air Weapons Station in China Lake, California.
Wow.That was awesome. Always is.It always is.It never disappoints.
You have to wonder why they're all the way over here.
It's an important state for trade deadline day.I think the Eagles are making a couple big moves. They want to just make sure everything stays okay over there.
Eagle Steelers, big, big, big decisions before trade deadline day.Yeah, there might be.You're right, I didn't think about the potential loading up of particular states because the NFL trade deadline coming up on Tuesday, November 5th.
But I'll tell you what, if that was the 102 one, which I think it was because it is 102 now, I'm bummed out we didn't get that one on camera. Now, cameraman's ready.
He's ready for a nice patriotic boner to fly right through his camera if we need it to happen. And this would be a wonderful start to a great weekend, AJ Hawker.Wonderful start.
Yes, it should.I know we have Aaron Rodgers joining us probably around 110 most likely, correct? That should be correct.Eastern, yeah. You think he's in a- Eastern.Yes, Eastern, 110 Eastern. You think he's going to be in a good mood today, Pat?
I would imagine he feels really good about where they are.
Last night felt like he was relaxed, understood that there was challenge. He said, I think he said a couple of times, that was the worst half of football I've ever played in my entire life.
He said he was missing throws, obviously he's misreading stuff. They had fumbles, they had drops, they had a fumble before.I mean, that first half was a comedy of errors, a litany of errors.
He addressed that and then talked about at halftime how he said, we either win this or it's over pretty much. And they did. They tightened up in that second half whenever they needed to.So I would assume he's in a good mood.
Have you chatted with him yet since the game?
Just a little bit.Just like, you know, general pleasantries. What did you guys say? What did you guys say to each other? That's good.Good way to get another win in the win column. We said, oh, thank you so much.I really appreciate your support.
Hey, that was a no-looker there.I mean, everybody is obviously talking about Garrett, but if you run that playback from the beginning there, Foxy, I mean, he's clearly looking down the middle and spins that thing.
This back-end shot, he was in his bag, bro.Aaron was at...
He's looking left, he looks back to the middle and then throws it kind of like diagonally between where he's looking.
He's going to say because he needs to slow that guy down a little bit so he can get a little bit of room for Garrett Wilson to slide that through. But obviously he's going to want to put over Garrett making that one-handed catch.
Aaron was back on his bullshit, it feels like.
He can move too.He was moving around. He didn't get called back, but he scrambled. He scrambled and run and making people miss.
I didn't think that was a hold either, AJ.I thought he got screwed there a little bit.
I agree. It was cool to see him use his legs a little bit because that's always people think he can't move right now or whatever. It does sound like it's kind of a week-to-week thing though how his lower half is going to feel.
That was like a hip drop tackle too, but the guy didn't land on his ankle. It felt like on his feet.It felt like Aaron thought the guy was going to land on the back of both of his legs on that one tackle early in the game.
And I think Kirk and Al both talked about how with the Achilles, any of these types of things, you have to wonder about going forward. And it was like, didn't get dropped on, got up, felt good, got to run a little bit.
Got to extend some plays a little bit.Stepped up in the pocket a couple different times. He's doing his no-look stuff.Devontae's doing, they're doing their shit.Thumbs down to Devontae.Should we kill this guy or not?And he just goes, kill him.
Thumbs down.Yeah, that's what we're doing. We're gonna go ahead and do that.Just throws him the ball.He cooks the corner on fourth down. It's like everything the Jets fans were hoping for. came together in that second half last night.Everything.
Devontae playing out of his mind.Because he had a drop early I think we were all surprised by.Devontae had that drop early that I was like, that doesn't happen.Like maybe the Jets are just the Jets.Maybe the Jets are just completely cursed.
Didn't they feel cursed for a second, Pat?I even said that watching that with my kids.I'm like, man, are they just cursed? We were all pumped when we saw Corley go score. And then Kirk's like, ah, they're going to take a look at this one.
I felt like, what can go wrong is going wrong for this Jets team right now.
Yeah, I had a tweet that I was going to put out, like, the Jets are Jets-ing so hard, but I didn't need to pile on.
I think everybody kind of knew what was happening in that first half.I also had some Colts fans.I also had some Colts fans ask me if I was going to talk about Aaron the same way I talk about AOR, and I responded and said— What do you mean?
Yeah, I responded and said if AR is the first ballot hall of famer whenever this is all over that would be awesome and I still think it's possible and I hope that's the case but they were looking for us to maybe talk about how Aaron played in that first half and then in the second half he does that and just goes ape shit.
Did Aaron tap out?I missed it.Did he tap out?
Diggs, we're past that. That's not what it's about, Tony!Oh. I've seen some people that don't know ball talking real loud.
We didn't talk at all about the 10 of 32 performance or the bad interception. We were really only talking about the tap out.
Okay, so I like that you're going to bat for me seemingly because a lot of people have been tacking me there in tone. That's good teaming.
I do appreciate you doing that, but speaking of being a good teammate, I think now for the Colts is a good time for AR to get the most amount of development.I think I heard Fitz talk about it last night on Amazon.
I watch that pregame show because you're stuck there. Yeah, you have to watch it.True.Can't change the channel. And then at halftime, it's pretty quick. They don't really get to do much at halftime. Then the after game, if I'm still awake, I watch it.
Last night I was up.I think that's because I was all jacked up from the Halloween episode watching Hulkster videos and, you know, Rizzler videos. What's that, Rizzler? You know, in the entirety of it.
So I think I was up, you know, just and watched it all.Fitz talking about AR was also pretty cool to hear.Because, you know, it feels like anybody that played football has the same feeling, the same exact one.
But listening to quarterbacks talk about it is even better. And Fitz, you know, he said he's supposed to be progressing. He seemingly regressed a little bit. So now he's getting a chance to kind of reset.
And it was like the way he laid it out is the same way I think we're all viewing it with AR.There's a chance he goes on and is great. And there's been a lot of guys that have had to sit and watch somebody else do it for a year.
He wasn't in the building last year, I don't think for a majority of it because of shoulder surgery. So he didn't get a rookie year to do that.
This year potentially could be that year if what they're saying about Joe Flacco being the starter going forward in the AFC South is still. It's right there. We haven't won one in like 10 years.
And you got people on TV going, are the Colts realistically going to win the Super Bowl? It's like, how about just win anything? We haven't won anything, and we are in a position to do so.And we have a great team right now.
And can we not just play a guy that potentially gives us a chance to win? Now, Joe Flacco might go out there and just shit all over himself. It might be absolutely terrible, and the Colts do bad.
But there is a chance that Joe Flacco plays the same way he's been playing for the last two years. And with this Colts team, we go on a run, we get a home playoff game. It's like, is that not enough?
A home playoff game that we haven't had in forever after winning the AFC South? Is that not enough to be like, hey, we're gonna try to win some games and maybe let AR watch how this all operates?
I just think the way some people are viewing it versus how a lot of people that actually played football are viewing it, vastly different. But in the end, I think it's gonna be good for all parties. I think A.R.
five, ten years from now, whenever he's on top of the world, is going to look back on this season and think about it and say, like, it was good for me.I needed it at the time, even though I might not have known that I needed it.
And I would go out and say, like, I don't know why it's happened.Like, there's so many things happening that, like, I think you can learn about and move forward. But, like, Fitz reiterated it.
I think I'm just, I'm very excited for the future right now.Very excited for the future of the Colts and the current. And I know that not a lot of people are feeling that way.
Yeah. And also like look around the league, like Sam Darnold, Gino Smith, Baker may feel like there are so many examples of guys that whether it's in Indianapolis or not, hopefully it is in Indianapolis, Jared golf.
We're like, it does take some time for a lot of these guys. And for those guys, the situation wasn't great. We all love Shane Steichen.
Like it feels like Shane Steichen is a great coach that he will be able to call before half bad call before play call for half.
Yeah, that was Coach Stinkin', you know, he's gonna, that's gonna happen sometimes, but in general, Steichen is great, and it feels like he will be able to develop AR, and, you know, they've been running that press clip from when they first drafted Anthony Richardson, where Ballard and him are up there, and they're talking like, hey, we don't expect this guy to come in and be Superman right away, and granted, he did start immediately for the Colts last year, and this does feel like the time where he'll get some time behind Footsteps Flacco, who moves just like AR, people are forgetting about that.
19 miles an hour.Guy can run it.Guy can spin it.And he knows how to, you know, be successful in the NFL.Knows how to win a Super Bowl.Shines when the lights are the brightest. This is Joe freaking Flacco.Okay.We're not talking about some slouch.
So with that being said, and with the fact that Steichen is still a great football coach and the team around him, they have a ton of young talent.Like the door's not closed at all on Anthony Richardson.
I think it was Zaire Franklin, I think, who just said the other day, he was like, hey, listen, I told A.R.
this, like, I came in my first year when I got drafted, I started, and I don't know if he said I didn't take it seriously, but yeah, didn't really take it seriously, like, didn't take advantage of the position I was put in, and it took me four years to get my starting spot back, and like, now he's running with it, and he said, you know, like, A.R.
has a great opportunity to do the same thing, like, if his path's like mine, then, This is a good thing. It's a wake-up call, and how he responds to it and what he does with it, ultimately that's his decision.
And I'll pile on to that thing.I got a public intoxication my second year in the NFL.I needed that.I wasn't taking it serious enough.Like, when I was in the building, I worked my ass off, obviously.I think everybody knows that. That's kind of my M.O.
But at night, the way I was taking care of my body, everything I was choosing to do, I was going out with every position group.
I did that in college, I'm gonna do that again, and then I get in trouble, and it's like you have a real hard look at yourself, and it's like, am I good enough to be acting this way?
Did it wake you up, or did it just scare you, what'd it do?
Well, I get tossed into the program, which is eight drug tests a month randomly for 27 months, and all of my friends, literally every single one of them, I didn't have a single sober friend, okay?
I think still to this day, but at that time, I didn't have a single sober friend. The only thing we did was booze.Like you got to find things that aren't fun or that are fun that you don't have to booze at.
And then this person I was talking to, I had to meet with a substance abuse counselor every single week, JJ, I think rest in peace, good man.I had to meet with him every single week.
He was like, you got to find things that are fun that you don't have to booze. And he would list things off and I'd be like, that'd be much more fun if I was boozing.
There's something off and I'm like people do that without booze it like that was literally my life there So then I get in trouble I get put into the program I get eight tests a month for 27 months and it was like I had a lot of long Hard looks at myself because I couldn't hang out with any of my friends, you know Cuz just cuz I got in trouble doesn't mean they need to change the way they operate So it's like a real isolated time in my life It was not a good time in my life But it was like a time where you look in the mirror and you say hey Am I good enough to be acting like this?
And is this what I want to do for a living? Like, this is what comes with being this particular person.I'm a professional athlete. There's only 32 in the world that do my job.I can be replaced quickly.
I am not that great to be this big of a distraction and change my life completely. And I think there's a chance that you can change your lifestyle whenever a prospective moment happens. His first couple interviews I haven't...
It took me a few days to realize my situation and not think it was everybody else's fault except for mine.In those situations, you're kind of in survival mode, so you're thinking, and then inevitably,
You know, all roads lead back to, hey, how are you going to adjust from this? And obviously, my dad helped out a lot.Mom helped out a lot.Friends helped out a lot.
But it's like, inevitably, you in the mirror have to have the decision, like, I'm going to commit to being this guy.And hopefully, AR will be able to do that.
Yeah, I think it goes like, what do you Do you love playing football?Okay, this could get taken away from you very quickly. That's what I think. And it doesn't even have to happen to you.
It could happen to a friend or a teammate or somebody else around the league, I think, to help wake you up.But if you could think even for two weeks, what does my life look like?
Let's say I'm 27 years old and all of a sudden I'm not playing football anymore.I've never even thought of that. You need to think of that when you're young and figure it out. What I like about the NFL is that the culture is
It's not cool to be lazy and like, you know how sometimes it is cool to like, oh, I don't really care about anything.I don't know, I'm being nonchalant. And people think, oh, that dude's awesome, whatever. And sometimes that's praised.I hate that.
I love that the NFL, like, no, like you're a loser. If someone on your team is like that, a good team will run that dude off.Like that is not, like when you're a part of a great organization, especially in the NFL, like it's not cool to be lazy.
It's not cool to be cool.Like, no, it's cool to win games and do whatever it takes to win games. It's not cool to blow opportunities, brother.
There it goes.Speak it up!Get up there, cameraman.Two F-18s!Gotta fly!Yeah!Woo!Woo-hoo!Come on, boys!Yeah!Yeah!Woo!Woo!USA!USA!USA!
USA!Come on!Are they coming back?
Are they circling back? They're switching the guns.Another strafing run.
I can hear them.I can't see them.Missiles engaged.
That's the worst spot you can be in.If you can hear him, you can't see him.Yeah, get down.
Find a bunker.Find a bunker.
They know I'm on the side. They know that I'm on their team.I know I'm on their team.Hey, cameraman, great work there, bud.
Well done.Well done, cameraman.I don't know if you can hear them back there or if you're like James Franklin. They all say he can't hear shit.Congratulations.Congratulations.I'm going to hit him in his ear. I just talked to him.
Yeah, you talked to him.No.They did a great job.The boys all feel the same way. That was awesome. But you're right, like, hey, you're wasting it.You know, I think it's how some people feel.Like, there's no reason.
Now granted, there's some people that are in a quarter, or like a position, oh, what's that called?Competition.Jeez Louise, get with it.The F18s are blowing my mind here.
Yeah, you have a chance to do that.
Yeah, there are maybe some people that are in like position competitions that don't necessarily wish for the best of the other person. You know, like people that are bottom half of roster hanging on the job and everything like that.
I don't think anybody's an asshole, but they're OK with Young Bucks potentially just ruining it.But if you're the fourth overall pick, you're supposed to be the future of the franchise.
Like nobody's pumped that like this is how this is going, and hopefully with the support staff and support system and everything around him, he's able to move forward, you know, and I appreciate that Joe Flacco will be the perfect guy to watch.
Because I don't think Joe Flacco is trying to be arrogant about it.I don't think Joe Flacco is trying to rub it in his face.I think Joe Flacco is just like the perfect person to maybe be in this position and here we go.Let's go Colts.
Speaking of teams that are on the rise and they gotta play the Colts in a couple weeks. Everybody's talking about the future schedule, future schedule, it looks nice for this team.Okay, you got the quotes on the schedule, so let's never forget that.
Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, four-time NFL MVP, Super Bowl champion, fresh off a massive night as the New York Jets quarterback, ladies and gentlemen, from Cal, Aaron Rodgers.Did you see those F-18s, brother?
That was awesome.Yes.And I'm, I'm so glad.I'm so glad that part of my check went to the jet fuel for that.
Okay.Troy.Yeah.Yeah.We need that.Okay.Sometimes people need to be reminded that we have that going on and it's, you think, you think, you know, where your taxes are going.Yeah.Right.Yeah.
Let's not start that, huh?Huh, BC?Yeah, I was going to say, might as well dive in now.
Trade deadline.Trade deadline.Trade deadline.Trade deadline.

Trade deadline.Trade deadline.Trade deadline.Trade deadline.Trade deadline.Trade deadline Let's forget the first half and just second half.Yeah, best half I've had yet.
First half was crap. You said that on the Thursday Night Football thing. What happened at halftime? Why did second half go so well for everybody?
Big halftime adjustments, you know, a lot of speeches, a lot of yelling, a lot of chest pounding.Guys were passing around the JJ Watt video where he said, you know, we shouldn't, we shouldn't be favored.
All that, a lot of, yeah, a lot of slander towards JJ.
Yeah, a lot of G's.In the Jets locker room, did that really fuel you guys?
It started with Woody.Woody was holding it up above his head. There was like a Rocky montage, a song from Rocky III, Survivor, was going on.Yeah, it was a lot of... Woody comes running in.
Hey, did you hear what this son of a bitch Jade said?Is that what Woody comes in there saying?I'm Ambassador Johnson.Don't ever forget it's not Woody.I'm an ambassador, damn it.And did you hear what Jade said?Is that what happened?
That's basically what happened.
Wow, oh my God, that's awesome.
Yeah, I mean some something like that.
Why was the second half so much better though?Just felt in rhythm.Felt like Murphy's law in that first half.Anything that could go wrong did go wrong. You had a big run.It gets called back. There's a fumble. That was second half though.
I paid attention of course, but why did the first half go the way it went? And then why does the second half go the way it goes?Legitimately though, is there a reason behind it or no?
Not really, I mean, we had four tackles in a center playing line.We had Olu, big Penn State guy, obviously, getting his number retired tomorrow, shout out to Olu.He played left tackle in college, was playing right guard.
Max Mitchell played a lot of snaps for us over the last couple years at tackle, was playing left guard.Obviously, Tyron and Moses were playing.Simpson, John got hurt.
uh... he's been out uh... jay canton i was going over a bt get hurts i think those guys is settled down and say that we have read the ball uh... pretty well that reset of a really good game run through some of the garbage and smoke uh... and we also open up some good holes and then at some point you just kind of new i wasn't a suck for the entire game i was going to make couple throws and then you know five you know what can you say you made two ridiculous catches in uh... they finished off uh... off the game during the fourth
That was awesome to watch.Maybe the greatest catch of all time. They're saying, did you know that a shin counts as another foot?Did you know that whenever it all went down?
I did. That's why you saw me put my hands up like touchdown.I was thinking. Right there.Well, that's not what I was saying to Sean there.
Now, yeah, you're mad about the callback on the run, which was bullshit. It wasn't a hold. But on a sideline, you're the first one to put the hands up.I thought I heard you saying that nightcap on Amazon that you thought you saw his knee was in.
Well, that was the first look was from the angle. The first angle that showed in the jumbo, John, it looked like it was from the side.So that's more of a top view.
The view that I saw first was from the side and it looked like his knee was in all the way and it wasn't even a question From the view we saw first now when they slow-moed it I was like shin forearm elbow, that's all You know knee that all counts body part Devante had like a butt cheek, you know get in against Sam Fran back in was it?
2020 I think it was And I counted so, you know, there's certain body parts that count two feet but Unbelievable unbelievable catch.
Yeah, not everybody part, but there's a few what one budget equals two feet though That's correct.
Well now they put so one cheek equals two feet one shin equals two feet a forearm Equals two feet what?
Doesn't nope, correct Wow, that's great.
What a stupid game It reminds me of the SNL skit where the Revolutionary War one where they're sitting around talking about different things and you guys have seen it, you know football is played, you know, they go through the different measurements and
you know, how many feet are in a mile and all these different, you know, it's pretty damn funny.
But you feel like that sometimes with our sports, like some of these rules, you know, it's like, I don't know, I understand the intent of it, but is it really the best interpretation of, you know, what's going on?
Aaron, are you and D'Amico okay?I know I'm sitting there watching, you know, it's late and all of a sudden you guys just both kind of look at each other and say like, we both hate each other and you just keep walking. Is that what happened?
Is that the case?I assumed it was.
Yeah, because he's friends with Sala, right?
Well, hold on, run it back.
No, no, no, it's coming up.
It's coming up.You followed him.
You kept following him. He's like, no, I hate you.
Sorry.Wait up, man.Wait up.Get away from me.
No, no.I was walking over to Jimmy there to grab my hat.Oh, right there.Oh, right there.
Oh, wow.Yeah, man.What a punk.You, you mean?You got punked.He was the first person's hand that I shook. That's why I'm asking you.
Right there.Right there.You see that?
It's right on the left side.Lomo.
Right there.Did you hug him at least? You just gave him a basic handshake. You played against the guy.He was a great competitor.
I shook his hand and told him how much I respected him.And I wished him good luck.
You got a lot in a short amount of time.
Well, I started the conversation as, you know, right after he gave the handshake to Brick, I think.Okay, there we go.Thank you.All right, we got it.
That's AI.That's Photoshop.That's AI.Man, I see eye contact.I see gazing into each other's eyes.
Yeah, we did the whole, like, respect, you know, you tap them on the chest, the respect thing.
Like, yeah, your avatar, I feel you.You know, like that type of, I feel you.
I see you.I respect you.Is that what it was?
Yeah, that's good.Basically, yeah.
Can you tell me about the pepper water?
How many memes did I get last season?Did I get a few more good ones? No?
You almost got hip dropped. You almost got hip dropped.Did you feel that? You almost got hip dropped, but he didn't land on the back of your ankles.
I think that really would have injured me if he did drop me, so I don't know who that was, if that was Danico or if it was my old buddy Barnett or somebody else, but thank you for not finishing that tackle.
It was very kind of you for not breaking my ankle on primetime.Because afterwards, you know, Kirk and Al's big conversation was like, you know, with the Achilles you're always going to want it, you're always going to want it.
Then you break free and you're, you know, going crazy and celebrating. It was nice to see.You were back on your bullshit. How about the no-looker to Garrett, the one-handed?That was a no-looker.Am I reading that right from the back angle?
Oh, I don't know if it was a no-looker.I was looking at Tate.Tate was running out and up there. No looker is not necessary when you're, I mean this is a man route, no lookers you usually want to zone.
I was just finding a spot there, I mean I was just kind of peeking where I was at, so I wouldn't say that was a no looker at all, that was a pretty damn good catch there.
I didn't even see it, you know, it's one of those things where you get hit and you fall down, and when I threw the ball I thought, It, you know, it was, there was tight coverage. So I didn't know what was going on.
Then I heard the crowd scream and all I could see was him holding the ball up.I said, how the hell did he catch that one? But, uh, but yeah, that was an important second half for us.
You know, there's not always any crazy magic words at halftime, but the most important thing is the belief, you know, do you actually believe that you can
Turn things around at halftime and Morgan Moses, who's been a great leader for us, just not only like an absolute warrior, what he's played with, you know, his knee this season.
But he's like one of those real dudes that you have in the locker room that you can always count on, like say the right thing at the right time and not overdo it.Kind of impeccable timing, but also like just the right words from a real
like a real dude, you know, not like a dude who sometimes is, you know, the rah-rah guy when it's, you know, a primetime game, or sometimes, you know, over speaks. We all know teammates like that that we've had in the past.
Morgan's a real dude, and he just said some stuff, but from the start, I would say when you juxtapose that from when we were ahead against, what was it, Buffalo, no, Pittsburgh. We were ahead at halftime against Pittsburgh, and the locker room was,
Not a lot of belief for whatever reason. What do you mean?
Quiet?Like, what do you mean? How can you tell?
It's just kind of like when everybody's in their own groups and there's nobody kind of talking to each other. So receivers are over there, lines over there, quarterbacks over there, running backs over there.
And so we kind of made a point to say, hey, let's never do that shit again. And so we basically were sitting in a tight circle and there was some guys standing around.
We were just talking through, I was talking through the line about, hey, what runs you like?I was talking receivers about run solution, about certain coverages that we saw.
Talked to the line about and the tight ends about some protection adjustments if we get a certain type of front and pressure again and everybody's kind of communicating and then Todd brought it up and said some things and Morgan kind of finished the whole thing off and Had a good message and we just went out and executed and scored, you know, really and our only had three drives I feel like I mean not counting the the Neal that way three drivers scored three times.
Yeah, and right out of halftime, you guys looked awesome. It was, you know, because the first half, I know you played bad, but boy, that was terrible football to watch, brother, you know?
And, you know, some of us, you know, a little baby girl, we did Halloween, you know, daily jobs, like sometimes I fall asleep, you know, during these prime time games.
But the game, because of all the comedy of errors that were taking place, it was like almost must watch. Then you come out at halftime and it just felt like different.
So shout out to Morgan Moses having that speech and the way you guys handled and operated in the locker room. And I think it was reported maybe last week or two weeks ago, Devontae spoke after a game.
And yesterday, you guys, last night, you guys seemingly were back on your bullshit.Obviously, he's shaking people to the ground, breaking ankles on getoffs.
But there was a moment on fourth down where you just look at him and basically do the kill him sign that Kings used to do to Gladiators back in the day with the thumbs down.
And it's like, this is exactly what Jets fans were hoping for whenever Devontae gets traded. It's exactly what football fans were hoping to see again. You're too magic.Could you feel it last night? And when you give a thumbs down, what is that?
Just Devontae kill this guy?No matter what we're doing? What is that?
It means just do whatever you want over there. Just take whatever release you want and get open.Listen, Tay's been playing Z and his whole career he's been in the X. So there's been a little bit of some adjustment with that.
He's so dynamic on live scrimmage with his releases. That's why he's such a tough cover at the X. When you look at the last touchdown we had, that's an interesting look at the stress we put on defenses.
Because if you freeze it, you probably can't, but freeze it there.Okay, don't freeze it. Backside, we got Garrett on the bottom here. He's running a double move. He's running a slant and go.Conk right there in the middle. He's got a safety on him.
I mean, Conk's a real good player. He's running a middle read. You got Devontae on their nickel, number five. And then you got Mike Williams, who's been a 1-1A receiver most of his career at the top, running a one-on-one route.
So what do you do as a safety?Who do you cloud? You look down at the bottom, you can see the G's got a little bit of space already over here on I think that was on Lassiter. And so you can't just shade the field.
So if he shades the boundary, he doesn't get off the hash at all.I got Devontae on their safety nickel there, and that's just a good matchup for us.So love the freedom of the call that Todd talked about.
A funny story about that is actually we came over and called timeout before the play. Yeah, there we go.There we go.Yeah!
Woo!Let's go, Kaepernick!Yeah! These are good jet stories, Dorn and Jet Squire!I mean, we're talking jets! That was insane! That thing, that might have been a thousand feet in the sky right there.
I mean, I felt like I could jump up and grab their exhaust.
I could jump up and grab them. These boys are fun.
Two million.Two million dollars.Two million dollars.Probably more.
Yeah, at least. They came from California, by the way.
For your protection.Yeah, you better thank them.Pennsylvania, pretty big state coming up on NFL trade deadline day.Yep.Pretty big state.
NFL trade deadline day. So anyway, he came over the sideline and Todd said, hey, I like this toss-crack play. And I said, OK, cool. And he said, what passes do you like?I said, well, maybe this one, maybe that one.
And we came to the double move with the, you know, Tay and the slot play. And that was kind of the last thing we said. And I said, yeah, yeah, yeah, let's run it.So I jogged back out there.
and he thought I meant let's run the football so that he calls in the run actually the toss crack and I look over him and there's still about 25 seconds coming out of the break because you can see there's a clock on there I said no hold on oh no no no no I didn't mean like let's run the ball I meant like let's run that last play you said you know with G on the double move and Tay in the slot and uh and so we had a good laugh about uh
about that and obviously it takes a lot.We didn't actually pick up the pressure very well on that one, but we held on just enough for me to get the ball out. That was fun to be able to win for Jeff because we love him so much.
He's done such a great job in these few weeks and we've lost some disappointing games, but to see him get the game ball after the game was pretty cool.
Just to get that win and infuse just at least a little bit of hope in our fan base and just a little confidence in our players is important. And yeah, all over the jumbotron, man.Fireman Ed was- Finally. That's why you won.
I knew there was something. Not a coincidence.Yeah, I knew there was something. And he does just make no arm movements.I wanted to check because all week I've been doing it. And I just throw my arms, I'm like, I think that's actually how he does it.
Last night, he's next to Jet fan, Jet man, Scott, Nick, and Fireman Ed, obviously, all in there leading the charade. But he just kind of throws the arms, everybody knows what to do.How were the vibes last night?
At the beginning, we're selling the team.Everybody's saying sell the team, sell the team.At the end, we got cayenne pepper chants happening.Feels like Jets fans all the way back.Aaron, could you feel it in the stadium?
I think that's a perfect character arc for Jets fans, and that's why we love them.Sell the team, booing in the first half, and going nuts chanting various people's names, and yeah, in the post game, cayenne pepper in the end.
They've been tortured fan base.I didn't realize Tommy was gonna post this one.I thought he said this was just for, you know, He was going to send a pic to his wife.He said, hey, will you send this to Daphne? That's the nickname for his wife.OK, cool.
And then he posted. But I feel like I look kind of Josh.
Would you have taken your shirt off for flex or something if you knew this was out for the public?
I would have done the old John Coon special.I got one of those green stretchy bands and done a bunch of curls right before.
That's classic professional wrestling there.
Excuse me, what did you say, AJ?You know, sometimes you would jam a towel down there sometimes just to say, hey, it's a big joke. You're stopping your pants, Donner?I didn't wear a cup today, guys. It's all natural.
I think that was, you know, he jokes about it, I think that might have been Spanx.
He probably still does it too, working concrete.
Spanx works, Spanx, Spanx stuffing his pants?
Yeah, most likely.I think that's what saved him after the motorcycle wreck was he had some extra cushioning down there.
He's pogo sticking on a bottle down his pants, is that what you're saying? Is that what you're saying? Aaron, when you stop your pants, is it a towel, is it a bottle, what is it?
Yeah, just whatever you need down there.
Well, some of us don't have a lot of room, Doc.
I just don't want to do any gerbils.
have been the one and even though you guys obviously still have a ways to go that this was kind of the one that took the top off the bucket and you know there's places you can improve but did that feel like the the one that you really needed?
I mean, I hope so, I really do, but we hadn't played a game complimentary on all three sides. And I know it said 21 on the scoreboard, but it was really a 28-point game on offense. Are those Jets going again? No way, no way.
We got two more million out the door?
No, no, you need to practice, brother. You know what's going on in the world right now?Okay, it's practice. We would like our F-18s to be very agile. We'd like them to be very confident.
We'd like them to have reps, so when they get tossed in there with the world's greats,
Are they chasing after some UAPs out there or what?
Maybe.It better be.We don't know.
As if they could catch that. You've seen that before, haven't you?
Let me answer the question for Ty, because it's such a good question.Yeah, it's an orange ball, right?
And you saw eight of them chasing it, I think I heard.Anyways.
You saluted?No, I don't remember that.I'm not sure.
16 million chasing that, if you do your math?
Back then it was more. You think they ever caught him?You think they ever caught him?I doubt it.Those things are so fast.
They seemingly are so fast as UAPs, UFOs.They can vanish. They go to the ocean.
They can go anywhere.Okay, what are we doing? We lost.Did you go by the... You can answer either one.Hey, have you gotten by the Joe Paterno statue yet?
I have not seen it.One on campus.I did go to the bookstore. Two stories. They got no AQ Shipley jerseys in there.Bummed out.Bummed out.Very bummed out, I would say.But yeah, this afternoon I plan on looking around, Aaron.
Ty, you said one play, one game.It kind of changes everything. It's a top off.One catch of a UAP, that changes everything.Do you, Jets, did you guys catch the UAP last night?Did you guys, are you guys off and running now?
Is that what we need to expect here?
No, I think we need to put everything in perspective. We won one game against a, you know, six and two team. But we got off the schneid. That's the most important thing. And now we get a little break, but we got to get healthy.
get a long trip to Arizona. If you look at the NFC West right now, I believe all four teams are four and four.Is that right?Type?Uh, yeah, I believe so.
One's three and four, but they're all right there.Yeah.
What does it say?I can't see it.Rams are three and five, three and four, three and four.Okay.So they're basically tied. So, you know, they're a division leader.Uh, then, you know,
After that one, we got Indy at home on a Sunday night and then we had a bye week So these are real two real important ones going on the bye week obviously starting in Arizona. We got to get healthy. They play I believe Chicago this weekend, correct?
We checking that one out As we you know, obviously tune into mr. Hanson there and Red Zone, is there anything better than that on a Sunday when you get a weekend off?
Do you have the sound on?Do you have volume on for that or no?
Every now and then, there's definitely some crews that I would, especially more in the past, more in the past, that I would, if they were watching, if they were doing a game, I would never have the sound on.
But Scotty's great, I love his interjections and But yeah, so I usually have a sound on if I'm watching Red Zone Channel.
You think he does the A.J.Hawk pee in a bottle or how do you think he operates?
I think he's got a catheter in there non-stop.
Full-time.Full-time catheter. He would commit.Yeah, Scott Hanson. You'd think he would get along.
I mean, that dude's a stud.Wasn't he like an Army Ranger or something too?
Yeah, I believe Delta Force. What? Are we serious right now?
I heard Delta. He probably puts that one in himself and then I'm not sure about the other side, but he probably keeps or something to keep him clean.
There's not.All right, Tone.Tone, you got a question for him?
Aaron, I brought it up yesterday.I said, there's no way.
Hey, buddy. How are you? There's no way Aaron's going to lose on Halloween. The guy loves Halloween. Now, you guys got out there a little bit late last night, so I assume there wasn't a party last night. Are you guys still celebrating?
Are you having a party this year? Are you keeping your distance? What's going on?
Smart, smart, smart, smart.$700 drink.
Gotta make some of this money back. Are you actually doing it?Are you really doing this?Gotta make some of this money back from when I got fined from a few years ago on Halloween.
Well, that's because you didn't, you know.
Do you want a Halloween? Here we go.Move along. Here we go.
Trade deadline day coming up on Tuesday, November 5th.Let's make sure we get all in there. But are you going to celebrate Halloween?Because they brought up a couple of your... Nick Cage in the... What was that last night they brought up?
John Wick we've seen.John Wick. You know, one of my favorites was Steve Zizou from the Life Aquatic.Classic.Classic for sure.I decided to dress up like a good football player just for the second half last night.
Oh!Nice.Just one half, that's it.
So we're done with Halloween?We're moving on?Yeah.
Yeah, it's November 1st, bro.You know what November 1st is, right? All Saints Day.All Saints Day.
Happy All Saints Day to you, dude.
Now it gets fun.Now it gets fun.You know, now Thanksgiving's coming up, the December 2nd holiday, Christmas, you know, good times.
That'd be your birthday, the December 2nd holiday you're claiming? January 6th.
It's actually Eric Bakhtiari's 40th birthday.Happy birthday Eric.
I learned it coming up or today?
Hey, all natural too, I'm sure. He's still all natural.
I've heard about that Bakhtiari family lineage.I mean, they used to really get down. The Bakhtiaris, 100 years ago or whatever, They weren't playing any games.David, is he playing? What are we doing with David? Is he retired?
You know, Dave is, he's let him, he's let himself go over the years, but it's become kind of his, his body type and he's embraced the dad bod completely.Uh, I think he's probably good.I think, yeah, I think he probably, he could probably play.
I don't, I'm not sure.Uh, I saw him down in Tennessee when we played him and he looked, uh, you know, fat, but he looked, uh, he looked good.
Okay. Not bad. But that's his body now.
That's his body.As long as he's not skinny. That's his body now.You know, he's got the bulrush belly. You need that belly to survive the bulrush. So I think he's, you know, I hope he gets a chance, you know.
He can obviously, if he's healthy, still be an elite player.I think so.Hopefully he'll get a chance.
Yeah, maybe move him down the nose, too.Super athletic, you know what I mean?If he can maybe flip sides, if he's got this big old gut on him, two-gapping, not a bad idea down the stretch here.Run game's gonna be very important in December football.
Yeah, well, he didn't compete for the ball when I threw him a pass, so he's definitely not playing any skilled position.
Connor has a question for you, Aaron.Yeah, Aaron.
Good to see you.Good to see you guys back on the winning train. Obviously last night tough play in the first half with Malachi Corley and you know first touchdown almost and you were actually in the end zone kind of celebrating with him after.
Did you have a conversation with him you know on the sideline because obviously rookie probably a tough little situation for him and then you ended up coming back to him in the third quarter I think on that first drive which was awesome to see.
So did you talk to him at all and also with Tuesday coming up who you voting for? All right.Valid.
All right.Just curious.I saw somebody say you're going to write in yourself.Something to think about.
Yeah.I don't know about coming back to Malachi.I don't think I... Did I throw him a pass?
I thought in the third you did, but I might be wrong.
I think you're wrong on that one.But listen, the... The interesting thing is you never know what you're going to see in the game.
Now, I will say, we always get a little around the league analytics conversation, time management, clock management, things to do and not to do every week presentation from our guy Smash. And he showed the Kyle Pitts play, which I believe was
So it's definitely on his radar.Great play call, great execution.Only thing I'd just say to Malika, and I said this to him on the sidelines, I said, why would you ever even drop the ball? That's your first touchdown.
You celebrate with that thing, you run to the sideline with that thing, and you hand that thing to Jimmy or Gus or Vito and say, I want this back.I'm just giving this to you right now, but this is mine."That was his first touchdown.
But listen, he was excited. It's a play that happened. It sucks. It's disappointing.Nobody feels worse than he does. Yeah, it's kind of a crazy thing.
I was getting made fun of because I was telling Tay and Garrett, I said, you guys both scored touchdowns and you're holding the damn ball up before you get in the end zone.
I said, I guess I'm an old white, old school guy, but can we just run through the middle of the letters?
Please?Don't be an old white. You don't want to be an old white right now.
Can we just- Guess we know how Tuesday's gonna go. You're not exactly, you're not exactly, shut up.You're not exactly setting a great example for these guys holding that damn ball up.
But yeah, you know, I will say that I am a recently proud New Jersey, what is it, New Jersey-en?New Jersey-ite?
New Jersey-ite.New Jersey-en?New Jersey-en?
And I did in the process of getting a new license to drive a motor vehicle I also registered to vote so They're about to fly over these f-18s for that to celebrate that nice, you know million two million more there we go Two million we're not sending Ukraine, so that's fine.
Okay, so once again, we learned your answer.
We already, no, I'm just saying, we already sent them a bunch of billions, so.
Bunch, we helped out, you know, we're helping out. What, North Carolina just got 24.3 million from a country concert.Did they really?Million or billion?
From a country concert.Million.
From the country concert, got it.
At the end of the night, they were going, ♪ Lonely as Kobe.Beer never broke my heart. That's what they sang at the end of 24.3 million.I think probably could be more Hawaii.
There's a lot of questions, obviously, but Aaron, what do you got for the rest of the weekend, pal?Obviously, Sunday, we're watching Red Zone with Scott Hanson, and what do we got today?Body recovery? How's the body feel?
You're moving more than ever.Sorry to cut you off, but you seemed like you were moving more than ever last night.Truck stick.
Can we get a video, uh, you know, ways in the back of my run, please, just so I can.
Let's run it a few times.Gotta find it.
Hey, real quick.Glory day.
I'm not, yeah, I'm not going to do much. not going to do much, probably just pound some, uh, drinks, a lot of drinks.Yeah.Water and, uh, rock, rock, coconut water.
And, uh, still enjoy myself, but, uh, I might, you know, I might venture out to the city one of these nights, but, uh, I'll be relaxed and taking care of my body and, uh,
getting ready to hopefully feel 100% for next week, because I haven't really been 100% since week four, so it'd be nice to feel a little bit better.
When you did a cayenne pepper, is it a shot?Yeah, how much? What's the ratio?Because Thomas' secret stuff there, you know, he said in short-term pain, long-term it's great for your health, his wealth. And I love Thomas Morstead.
He's been very jocked for a long time.He has transformed his body. into what it is he's very focused on.I think he goes and trains at altitude during the offseason so he can get the most out of his body.He wants to punt for like 30 years.
This guy got drafted same year as me.He taught me how to punt.I love him.But what is the ratio for the cayenne pepper? And if I drink that, am I doing this at the age of 40?Last night, Aaron Rodgers on a 39 in the fourth quarter, down three.
Need to play, old man. Almost scored. You look great, brother. You look great, brother.Jacked up.Is that the cayenne pepper water? And how do we feel?
Yeah, I don't know how much percentage I can give credit to the cayenne pepper. But Thomas wants me to go 100% just because he really wants all the credit with this.
Although he said he heard it from a woman that lives in Australia who's considered a kook.So I said, all right, right up my alley.
I'm sure you have her number in your phone.
Yeah, I didn't I never I never heard of her but that play reminded me of a little different but say I got to I got to rip Corey Lindsley which is always fun to do because he's the ultimate troll and it's Lily spent most of his career and life and every single time we're together trolling me or Brian Balaga
And my one of my greatest plays see if we can cue this one up was Against Chicago when I made like four guys miss in the pocket and got absolutely drilled taking my legs taken out through some wobbly Duck over somebody said the Devante for a touchdown and Corey decided he was gonna hold on that play.
I believe in 2014 That this was the best run.I've had in a while like, you know, I had a couple like I
pedestrian runs against New England I kind of ran six yards and slid then I ran had this weird awkward fall out of bounds and that was actually semi-athletic last night you know there was a timely kind of pump fake and then I cut back and didn't slide you know but I got
I think it was the kneel that kind of fell on me.And the old sternum is a little sore this morning, but it was all worth it or would have been had Olu not held. But again, shout out to Olu getting his number retired.
That's quite a big deal, especially four months after playing.20 years here, no retirement from Cal or Butte College for that matter for 21 years since. But shout out to Olu getting his number retired, pretty amazing.
I think I learned last night, Tony Gonzalez got his number retired while he was still in high school at high school.I think I learned that last night while you guys were talking about it.
He was 21 in high school.I think that was when he left out. I think he just redshirted a few grades.
Just routing kids up everywhere.
Connor did that.Connor had a five-year high school plan, did junior year twice.Yeah, there's ways to do it.It's fun.It was a good time.
How'd you do it?How'd you do it?Which year did you repeat?
You know, junior year's tough for a lot of people and there are some papers that I didn't, you know, there's some papers that I couldn't finish. It took me a couple years.
So you just needed some practice for the SAT and the PSAT and all that.
Oh yeah, and it didn't help, brother. Not even a little bit.
Yeah, but it got you to here, and Connor, you're crushing it, obviously.Yesterday, as the Riz, you captivated a nation. We have the play.We have it against the Chicago Bears.
I think Kevin Daniels actually tweeted about this game, I think at one point, in his life.Is that the case?Is that what I'm hearing, Zito?
Are we going to zero in on Corey Lindsley and his hole, Ryder?
There's a different angle.
Yeah, I got absolutely smoked, and here we go.Cory said he just ragdolled him.
Yeah, he did.That wasn't holding.That's not holding.
But I made a lot of people miss, got taken out, and then somehow threw a touchdown.
Oh, my God.That had to feel so cool for a second before seeing the flag?
Yeah, no one give a shit about it now, because it's a no play.Right from the passer.Just lost and... That is... Yeah, thanks, Cory.Oh, my God.
but that's a that's a corey's that's a quite a bit for something as opposed to what i uh... prognosticate and foresee for david bach gary's future post uh... football corey is uh... has lost a lot of weight whether it is a bit related or not corey looks really good as i mean he weighs in the two thirty range i believe where i'm assuming that dave will be closer to four thirty then to thirty companies companies that way
He and, you guys have the meanest, they have the meanest relationship ever, those two, by the way.
ripping on West Coast elites and the West Coast and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, talking about the Mideast and how awesome Ohio and Pittsburgh are.And I always said, just wait, just wait. Now, what does he do?
He goes out and plays for the San Diego slash L.A.Chargers.And now where is Corey Lindsay living full time?
Oh, you got a taste by you.
So Cal, he just, he went to Erewhon and, and, uh, uh, you know, and couldn't, uh, couldn't leave man.
California kid.I didn't know that about Corey's California guy. That's good.
Did he lose his dog?No, I bet you that he's still a dog, right?Cora's still a dog.You know, he lives in Cali. Some people in the Midwest and Pittsburgh think Cali kids can't have any dog in them. You've obviously changed that debunked that theory.
Oh, thank you.Yeah.Yeah.I mean, Corey is, he's, uh, he's kind of forgotten his roots. You know, he's, he was a Youngstown guy, you know, raised, you know, around the mafia and the steel mills.
And now he's a West coast, uh, wearing Birkenstocks and, you know, cut off shirts, showing off his belly button. It's, you know, it's whatever it's working. He's got four kids now. He's doing, doing great.
We're happy for you, Corey.Way to find yourself. That's what it's all about. We'll continue this show on YouTube and ESPN Plus and TikTok.We'll make our picks and we're back for Overreaction Monday. That's Aaron Rodgers. The Jets are hot. That's AJ Hawk.
Have a fantastic weekend. We'll see you at game day tomorrow.
I think I nailed it.You got it.You got it.You got it.We're still on it.
All right, so now we can say whatever we're doing.
No, we're still live.Yeah, yeah.Yeah, tell us now. We're still live.Tell us what we're going to say.No, no, no.
No, we're still live. Are there any other statues you're going to visit over there?
Okay, all right.I don't know how many they've built or taken down.I'm not 100% sure about all the facts and stats of this place. But I will say, this stadium's big, man. There's 111,000.That's crazy, the college shit.Massive.
Like, Texas A&M had 108,000.It was the third largest.I think Michigan, 110,000.How many of you guys have the horseshoe over there in Ohio State?
That's so many people, Aaron. So many people.
What happened when Ohio State went out and visited the former Conference of Champions school out in Eugene? It didn't end well, did it?
They got beat, but you didn't go to Oregon either, so.
Conference of Champions, though.Shout out Bill Walton.Shout out Bill Walton, RIP.Thanks for my life, Bill.
Rest in peace.Rest in peace.Rest in peace, Bill.Good times.RIP, Bill.We love you. Aids, you know what, you're doing a lot more talking on this. There's going to be people who are real confused usually tune in.
They're like, man, who's that other guy who didn't say anything now?And now he's behind a desk. Now he says a lot of stuff. So here's to you, man.Good job.
That's how I know.Hey, that's how I know.Like if somebody watches the show or not, you know, like that's how I, if I see that, I'm like, this person doesn't actually watch the show.
They just see some clips or whatever, because they would know that, uh, the guy that dressed up like John Wayne Gacy.Yeah.He's, uh, he's trying to do that with every comment he makes.
Can I just, I just want to clear up one comment that I made because there is a large Ukrainian flag that flies at one jets drive my, I don't, I I don't have a problem with Ukraine at all.
I just think that there's a lot of problems in the United States that $180 billion could maybe could maybe help instead of instead of fighting a proxy war. That's my only well said.
Yeah, just just, you know, say that went up smart to serve like, you know, like natural disasters. And there's FEMA is confiscating, you know, bottles of water and food supplies from people trying to help. Like maybe let's help those people out.
Obviously, you know, FEMA doesn't have the best record if you go back to 2005 and Katrina.Okay.But I think there's a lot of problems in the States. And people hurting that, you know, could use more than I don't know, what they just give out $600 $700.
Come on, what are we doing? And also you go back to Hawaii.
What happened there with Hawaii?Yeah. We all agree.I think everybody with a sane mind agrees.
Understand that the United States of America have to look out for people and everything like that, but we gotta look out for our people too, whenever shit happens.
And I think, you know, I think even though during these trade deadline times, NFL trade deadline, November 5th, Tuesday, trade early, trade often.
Anytime in these times, it seems like we're all, it feels like common sense is becoming more, I think we're all kind of coming closer together.I think, I hope.
And I don't think Tuesday will display that, but I think hopefully going forward, we have that happening.
Well, if you don't know what to do on trade deadline, you should just ask your favorite celebrity and get them to inform you, because that's really important.
My favorite is when the celebrity says, I'm moving if this doesn't happen.Okay.All right.
Where are you headed?Canada? My favorite is when the celebrity is bought and paid for by China. But anyway, you guys have a great day.
Who's he talking about? One last one.One last one, he said.I don't know.I'll look it up.We'll do our own research.Everybody should.Which I think is what he was saying.
AJ can't even ask his favorite celebrity because B. Diddy's in jail.
Well, let's get to a break.Let's take a quick break.Even though, no, never.You know who's not in jail?Who's that?Young Thug. Yeah.
Yeah, he's getting out.Yeah, right.Time served. We went through his, he's got to go visit. He can't go live in Atlanta except for like weddings and graduations or something like that. And then he has to speak to kids four times.
Then he got like 100 hours.I mean, it is a pretty, hey, you've got to give back to society in a massive way, as opposed to being in jail, obviously, because you're a big name and influential. It feels like he's happy with the decision.
Seems like what's going to happen is a lot of give back.I feel like this is the first time a lot, like, I didn't study it enough.
Obviously, I assume there's sectors of the internet that aren't happy about it, but it's like, it feels like everybody's like, all right, thank God this is over and gonna make the world better.
And now dog gets to go home and hopefully make some more bangers that if he's ever in court again, he can go.That was a bar right there in court.Fantastic stuff.Congrats to him.Congrats to him.
Which the judge obviously doesn't think it's terrible enough to let him out.Whatever. Congrats to Thugger on being free.Congrats.Congrats.I wonder who he's voting. Is he voting? Is he voting?I don't know. Can he vote?I don't know.
I don't know if he's been tied in, if he's been locked in enough.Well.I don't know the rules.I don't know the rules at all.But I know trade deadline's coming.Maybe Young Thug will ask a team to trade somebody. And that's what we gotta keep track of.
Speaking of, we gotta do our picks. Can't wait.AJ?
Let's do it.On the other side, that's a great tease you have there.I can't wait to pick these games.
I know.You got some good ones.Good games.
Good weekend.Lions, Packers. We should have brought that up, obviously.Should have brought that up.Jordan Love playing?Yeah.
He's practicing again.He's playing.
How healthy is he?All right.
Yeah. He's Jordan Love.He comes back early. He comes back early from injuries.Full green blood.

Yes, it was amazing.Pat, how are you doing?Any more flyovers during the break?
No, but I did get a chance to talk to Lieutenant Grumble, okay? He's a member of the VX-9 crew with the Navy that is here.He did not fly these particular planes, but he's with these F-18s, but he's with the group.
Lieutenant Grumble has been there for 10 years, okay? He's 36 years old.Guess where he's from, boys?Where?Berg? Waterloo, Iowa.
Yeah, Lieutenant Grumble is from Waterloo, Iowa.Just had a full conversation with him. They do have great KFCs there.I told him that piece of information immediately upon telling me he was from Waterloo, Iowa.I obviously thanked him for his service.
Thank you so much.I appreciate that.Did you know, immediately, did you know about Waterloo? He did not.He took his glasses off. That's not great. And then he put the glass back on and we continued the conversation because that's obviously what you do.
He said these flyovers happening at these games, they are very much used as like training situations.Like timing of getting places, routes, turning, like everything like that. So, you know, there's some people that question them.I learned today.
Still, I didn't know that's still happening. But there are some people that do, it's a big deal. And Lieutenant Grumble, I guess the call sign Grumble is because he's a, his words are not mine.
I'm a little bit of a miserable mumbler out there or whatever.I said, I said, you're a miserable guy from Waterloo, Iowa.He said, well, some people say that or whatever.I go, I bet you're hilarious though, because I know one of those.
And Ty, I felt like I was talking to you, brother, but you're somebody that's flying F-18s every single day.
I absolutely love it.What an American hero.I'd like to buy him a beer and shake his hand.Thank you for your service, Lieutenant Grumble.
Love you! Lieutenant Grumble has left the grounds. He's working. He's got a mission.Protecting our country. He said the reason why they're here is, I guess, one of the pilots, a lady front backseater, front plane.
She's Penn State alum, and also, so that's how, who kind of got picked. It's like a celebratory moment, obviously, as it should be. And trade deadline day. It's great time being happy. Is that real grass by the way?
I've been staring at that. It's amazing. It looks so nice.
He's standing on turf, but that's grass.Pick it out.Pick it out.I've told you guys, Penn State somehow figured out like in the northern climate to have great grass.
Look. That's real grass. That's real grass, man. That's real grass.
That's real grass.That's beautiful.
That would be grass, I think, that Ray Lewis would eat.And do the whole thing, you know what I mean? The whole song and dance. That was so cool, I was there.Fire flames going up in the sky.Ray Lewis coming up. Old Baltimore went crazy.
And he ate, didn't he?Who else ate it?Dawkins?Yeah, Brian.Did Brian not eat that?Coaches. What coaches?
LSU.Les Miles.Les Miles.Les Miles.
This grass is eatable. It looks edible. It is.I wonder how they do it.I wonder if the groundskeeper's on it.I'll keep my eye out because that is... That's a beautiful pitch, right?
Wonderful.Because turf to grass, grass gets better.
The grass gets better. It's like, and I know there's going to be a big ton of people that are so mad about this.So I don't want them to get mad about this. What?I don't want anybody to be mad about this. This is Rose Bowl quality grass here.Oh, yeah.
Wow.You know?Might have shipped it in. Like the Rose Bowl is supposed to be known for the grass, right?
We ate it when we were there. We did.
We did.It was so beautiful. It was perfect. This is very similar to that.Very, very similar. Now, there are some dry... Hey, we got some dry roots around here.Okay, we got a little... Uh-oh.
We're gonna have to trim the roots a little bit out the outside, but fueled itself perfectly.Dark green. There's like a... Zito just said it's artificial turf.I just plucked the grass.No.No.It's grass.
That can't, AI is wrong.Navy blue artificial turf?That's a bad idea.That's a lie.That can't be real.That can't be real.That says, is that?With navy blue artificial, so that's a joke.Is that Beaver Stadium?Is that the right one?Because for soccer.
Yeah, Beaver Stadium is the right one. That's gotta be a joke, right? You can't trust that AI answer there.
No way.Yeah, that's grass. Penn State doesn't lie about stuff.
Okay.Okay.No reason. There's dirt on here.I mean, I just pulled chunks of grass.I'm supposed to not do this.Real grass.
It's grass.Hey, I lied.People died.
I don't know if anybody died because the grass is nice and it's not blue. Were they talking about Boise State there? They said navy blue turf.
I think that was from Bona Garage.I definitely got that one wrong.
A.I., you're supposed to have it all figured out.You don't have a lieutenant grumble, A.I.?Certainly not.And you definitely don't have the right information on the grass that's right behind us.A.I., how I is it?How much I is there, really, in A.I.?
It makes you wonder. It really makes you wonder. It's getting a bit artificial idiot.I didn't say that.Conor said that.I did.Conor Campbell said that he lives downtown Indianapolis. That is AI.You pay attention to him.AJ, let's not use AI.
Let's use our brains and let's make our picks, shall we?
Let's do this, man.Let's pop them up.So we are starting 1-0, right, on the week?We both won last night. That's right, brother. That's right, brother. And that public down bad after last night.
It was something, man, huh? Those guys, the books know something, and we rode with them, so we're 1-0 heading into this one.The first game we're going to pick after that is what?Bengals, Raiders.
Bengals are seven-point favorites at home, and then a lot of points.
Yeah, Joe Burrow forgot he likes Halloween. He did forget that, didn't he?Yeah.Previously dressed up like an alien and stuff like that, but I think that's because that's how focused he is right now. I think he's bummed out.
I think he's in a different state of mind.I think what was happening before isn't what's happening now because right now they're not living up to expectations. They're not having the season that they want to have.
He obviously has incredible hair and I thought Whitworth looked amazing last night dressed as him with his little see-through tank top and his hair and everything like that.I thought he looked fantastic.
I think Whit should think about looking like that on a daily basis but I like this Bengals team. I have no idea what the Raiders are, and I think the Raiders like it that way.Obviously, underdogs were fighting and all that stuff.I like the Bengals.
Give me Cincinnati at home, in the jungle, favored by a Tutty.
I've gone back and forth thinking about this.Seven points seems like a lot, but give me Joe Burrow, give me the Bengals.Offense is still rolling, hopefully the defense steps up.T. Higg is doubtful. Chase is playing though.
I know, just giving you guys the information you need.
Trey Hendrickson is playing.I need Trey playing as well.On defense.Who?Trey Hendrickson on defense. The end. He's playing.I know he's not out.I'm just saying he wasn't questioned.
I heard he's wearing gloves.
I heard he's wearing gloves.Oh, he might get nine sacks now.Look out. When he actually realizes, hey, my little fingies aren't going to hurt every single play as much.
I didn't understand the people that didn't wear gloves.
That's a savage move to me when I see it.I didn't wear gloves as a kid.I didn't even wear gloves in high school. But I remember I got to college and started wearing gloves and I thought, how did I ever play football without gloves on?
Oh my God, these things, they're like Toradol, but for hands. They make everything better.Dallas Clark was old school. He just would tape up individual knuckles and go out there and make massive plays. You look like a guy that never wore a long sleeve.
Did you wear long sleeves?
I wore long sleeves in practice, just not in games. You wouldn't do it, huh?Couldn't do it.Yeah, the people think I'm cold. No, I don't know. All I needed was my hands and feet.Just give me my hands and feet.I'm trying to keep those guys warm.
Yeah, because I guess your arms are going to be cold regardless, unless you have, like, a long sleeve on, you know?
When it's, like, zero, though, and there's all that wind, like, it doesn't matter, I feel like, for your arms.I know, at least for me.Did you baby oil yourself?
I would put some Vaseline, or they have that cold skin, which didn't really do anything, but I would try it for sure.
Okay, we're almost getting to that time.Commanders, Giants.
It's stinky.Whoa.It is very stinky, especially after Dable says, Daniel Johns didn't know to fucking play.Feels terrible.I just talked to him.I said, what are you doing?Didn't we?And he said, I'm sorry. He started crying.
Crying in Mara's office right now.
He knows.Yeah, I just told the owner the same thing I'm telling you guys.Daniel knows he can't do that.Daniel, Daniel. Joe Shane, you saw what he did during NFL Hard Knocks. He can't do that.He can't do that.Me?I'm trying my best.I lost my weight.
I'm back on place.I like the Washington Commanders.Jane Dane was obviously very good still. The way he played last week.Oh yeah.He was good.
I like the Commanders. That's a big-time NSE East matchup there for the Commanders.Who would have thought they'd be in this position?Nobody.Nobody.Good for them, man.
Yeah, a year ago with the Commanders, there wasn't a whole lot of hope. Now there is.Give me the Commanders, absolutely.Going to New York and taking on Bruce and Danny Dimes and the crew.I feel like, isn't four points a lot here?
I don't think it's enough. The defense is buzzing, you know, 35 sacks on the year, might get after Jaden a bit.
Maybe a bigger issue than our prime time concerns are the fact that we can't score at home.It feels like Danny hasn't thrown a touchdown in MetLife in like two, three years.
So that's a problem, but if he can maybe crack the seal, maybe they can cover the number.
I did just remember Dexie. He does a lot of this, right? He does a lot of this.Yep.He does a lot of that. He's really good.Football banged up.Jaden Daniels, Cliff Kingsbury.
Commanders were just on, you know, AQ's top five two weeks in a row.
Oh, yes, yes, you're right. What am I thinking?Give me the commanders. All right, let's go to the next one.Who do you have? You have the commanders as well, AJ?
Yeah, I have the commanders.Next one, Dallas is going to Atlanta, taking on the Falcons.Dallas, three and a half point dogs. When's the last time that happened?
AJ, I don't know if you heard, a couple defenders on that team.Last week?
I mean, in Atlanta.Last week against the Niners? In Atlanta, though, I'm saying.Sure, sure, sure.
When are they ever dogs against Atlanta?
Yeah, against one team. I don't know if you heard, Micah and Trevon Diggs.First of all, Diggs made up with the media member.Gave him a can of nuts.I respect it.
I like it.I like the way they handled that.We move along. This is how this is going to go.You have to talk about me.I have to play. There's going to be times.Let's move along.I like it.Trevon Diggs is feeling so good, actually.
He goes, you know, I'm going to go on Micah. And they do their top 10 quarterbacks.Did you hear he's not on their top 10, AJ?
I mean, maybe not the one or two, but Dak's got to be up there somewhere, right?
Yeah, he wasn't even honored.I think that's because they didn't want to judge their own quarterback.
We're biased, right?We're biased.
Aside from Dak.Dak is obviously number one. He's our guy. It's the other 10.This was a big deal.People are making a big deal out of this on the internet and on television because it's the Dallas Cowboys.
It does make you wonder, what the hell is going on, Donner?
What's funny is I don't think either of those two are playing this weekend, either.
Yeah, exactly. So then you keep going, like, what the hell's going on, Donner? What is it?You know, and everybody's learning of, like, the tours and shit. And it's not a big deal until it's a big deal.
It's like, are we at the point where everything's a big deal now?I don't know.Is it Dallas Cowboys?I don't know. But McCarthy's on his last year. They made it a game. They made it a game.CD was wide open there at the end, remember?A couple times.
They could have done it.A couple times. They could have beat the Niners, so we love.Oh, Kirk Cousins, oh, I love him.I love him.Atlanta, they're doing their thing. They got that crack back on the tackle. They're rolling.AJ, who do you got?
I'm taking Dallas on this one, not gonna lie.Have to.Don't have to, but I was Chuck Pagano.I was waffling back and forth over the last 10 seconds, I would say, and Dallas just popped up.
Dak did say this is a must-win game for the Cowboys, so I don't know if that factors in.
Yeah, but telling Mike and Trevon Diggs,
I believe that.So Jerry just came out a couple of hours ago and said, Diggs has a tear in his calf and hasn't practiced yet this week and doesn't know if he's going to play this weekend. And I'm pretty sure Micah is still out from that angle.
Okay, so I'll take the Falcons then.Let's go to the Broncos.Ravens, nine-point favorites at home. The Broncos have been playing good.
The Broncos have been playing good.Deontay Johnson obviously going to be on the field.I think they've already seen him out of practice. That's a big-time trade they've made on the offensive side. How's the defensive side look?
Can they turn it on with a lot of new coaches over there calling plays?AJ, who do you like? How do you like it?
Nine points being a lot, I'm going to take the Broncos.I think they find a way to keep it close. So, yeah, Broncos. That feels obvious. What's the public money on that one? Feels too obvious.
The Broncos and Ravens is 57% Broncos.
What?I'll take the Ravens.I'll take the Ravens.Patriots, Titans.What's that?
I mean, Baltimore are off a loss, too. That's nuts. That's just a wild percentage for the public to be on.
Well, I think nine's a lot, especially if you look at just what the Broncos have done. They've won how many?Broncos defense.Their defense is very good. They score on defense a ton.
The public is very fickle, my friend. They saw them lose to the Browns, and they saw the Broncos win, so they think one team's good, one team's bad.
And this is in Baltimore.Broncos been winning.
Yeah, but it's not Elf.They're not in front of the Elf, to your point, about what happened last week.Connor, is that what you're saying?
Yeah, I just think that might be a slight overreaction.Baltimore might beat them by 20.
Well, Lamar didn't practice until today, too.Maybe they thought, like, hey, maybe Lamar's out.
I'll take Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.I'll take his nine-boy favorites.Patriots-Titans!I'll tell you what, this game is going to be a rush watch.
The Patriots are dogs to the Titans?Yes, we are exactly where we want to be. Is that the Rizzler over there?I mean, look, Drake May, you know, he's been in concussion protocol, but it looks like he's gonna go.
But I could play fucking quarterback and beat the Titans.I don't give a shit about who's over there in Tennessee. It's about us.It's about New England, baby.
Tennessee's got a good deal. It's gonna do that.
They do have a great defense in our old line. It's so bad.Oh, no. They play better, they play better, they play better.
But our wide receivers- There might be a reason you guys aren't favored. Is that what you're saying?
There might be some reason?Their secondary is very good, and our wide receivers, we'll see if they wear gloves this week.
Drake's got that Southern accent.Drake's got that Southern accent, so him getting back down there in Tennessee, he might feel right at home.Might be a home game.
That's a far venom too. That's where that gunslinger comes from.I expect him to make some pretty, pretty throws.
I'll take Drake May and the Patriots plus three.
Come on, man!Let's go!Let's go!I'm gonna take the Titans. You don't want us in the window.I mean, yeah, but I want them to cover. You know, good teams win, great teams cover.Go ahead, Adrian.
I'll take the Titans, honestly.Give me the Titans. Why not?
Dolphins, Bills, AFC East.Gumpy's over here grinning like the butcher's dog.Gump, how do you feel about the game?
Oh, great. We're going to go into Buffalo and win for the first time there in like 20 years for sure. You guys haven't won in Buffalo? We haven't won in Buffalo forever, dude.I think OBJ probably finds the pain.
Feels like this will be a big game for him.
KJ, how do you feel about this one?
Give me the Buffalo Bills on this one, Pat. All right. All right.Tua's got new hair to do.I love Tua.I just love Josh Allen.I love what they're doing over there.Keon Coleman's fine in it.I saw Josh Allen had a great Halloween as well.Yes, he did.
He didn't.He and his girl host the whole situation.Yeah.Obviously, we know.Great leader. We know he, you know, everything runs through him.All right.
I'll take the bills.Saints, Panthers.Saints favored by seven in Carolina.Who's playing quarterback for the Saints?
Doesn't matter.I think Carr's back.
Okay, I'll take the Saints.
I'll take the Saints as well.I mean, it's not gonna be Rattler. Is it Jake Hayner?
Oh, if Hayner's in there, this line would be fucking 14.
Carr is back.Carr is back.Yeah.We're both on the Saints.
Chargers-Browns, I believe there's gonna be a great interview between J.J.Watt and Jim Harbaugh before this one kicks off.Browns, fresh off a dub over the Baltimore Ravens, underdogs at home in front of the dog pound.Chargers, favored.
What time's that game at?That's a one o'clocker.
Oh man, favorite in Cleveland.Ooh, Ty, your thoughts on this one?
Uh, well, it seems like this could be the old Jameis. You know, hey, he was a world beater last week through for 330 plus yards. You know, three touchdowns. We might see the other half of Jameis this week.
The guy that goes out and throws three three picks and you know isn't quite as good.I don't know.I just I still have a tough time betting against Harbaugh.Herbert and the Chargers, so I think I like the Chargers here.
He's at 10 a.m., 6 a.m., 5 a.m.parking lot.I'll take the Chargers as well.I don't think Jameis is going to have a bad game.I like the Chargers to win, though.
Yeah, I'm with you.I like the Chargers to go on the road and get a win here.Yeah, feels too good.
Jacksonville Jaguars traveling into Philadelphia. The Illodale. Eagles and Big Dom on a headset.I heard that from Chris Long.Big Dom has a headset on his sideline now. What?Who's he talking to?Everybody.Everybody.Thank you, Connor, and I agree.
He really is the play to the quarterback.
Oh, cool. And for that reason, I'm taking the Eagles forever.Go ahead, Connor.
He also does the jumbotron, I believe.Hey, run that.Run that right now.AJ Brown hype video. He's about to score a touchdown.Boom.
What if he does have a direct connection to the stadium ops at all times?Slow down, slow down and replay, slow down and replay. We're going to try to run a little hurry up here. All right, run it, run it, run it, run it.Sack it.
Hey, hey, big third down here.Let's get the defense chant going on and running out.
Defense, boom, boom.Defense, boom, boom.Defense, boom, boom. Boom.Boom.Boom.
Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.
Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.
Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.
Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.
Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.
Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.Boom.
That would be, it's the new character.Yeah.It was five booms, we get it.Five booms, we get it.Okay.
I like the Eagles.Yeah, me too.Give me the Eagles at home. Not to mention, you know, super fan Bradley Cooper might be in the building. So, I mean, the Eagles are going to blow him out.
Oh my God, I didn't even think about the Bradley Cooper effect.Yeah.Yeah, the Eagles are going to win the Super Bowl.Yeah.Tell me something, girl.Brother.
All right, Bears, Cardinals.Cardinals favored by one and a half out in the desert.Devastating end to a game for the Chicago Bears.I couldn't even fathom what this week of practice was like for number 29 and for that entire team.
ZD Baby, what are the vibes coming out of the Chicago Bears building?
Vibes are, everything's staying in-house.They basically said we'll not talk to the media about what's going on with 29.A lot of injuries, but I think we win this game.
They said they're staying in-house with what's going on with 29?
Yeah, but they said they will not say what they're going to do to him is punishment, blah, blah, blah. That's what he was talking about.
He's going to drown in Lake Michigan.
Uh-oh.Chase.You can't say that to the media.
We would tell you what we're doing, but obviously 2024, we'd get arrested. It's illegal.
It's illegal.He might die.But he ain't traveling.
I wouldn't be putting any prop bets on any defensive touchdowns.I almost want to take the Bears because it had to be so miserable this week. excruciating over there. It's hard to win in the NFL.It's hard to win.
So to just give one up like that, it is miserable, I bet, over there. But the Cardinals, they started figuring it out with Marvin Harrison Jr.He had, what, 11 receptions last weekend? Is that right?
Correction, he is benched.I apologize.
Really?Yeah, we assumed.Cardinals might have found that fire and they're good.
He took the bus.I'll take the Cardinals.
I'll take the Cardinals.I'll take the Cardinals as well.I like what Kyler and Marvin and the crew are doing.
Here's the big one, AJ.Lions, Packers, NFC North, decider.Who is the creme de la creme?Who is the Kings of the North?Who is the top dog?Is it MCDC who dressed up like Last night for Halloween.
And the Detroit Lions, or is it going to be Matt LaFleur with his big-ass brain?Gutekunst with his forward thinking? And Jordan Love, fresh off a groin injury. Is he going to be playing this weekend, Ty?Is that what's happening?
Yeah, I think so.He was a full participant in practice yesterday, and it was raining. The weather was not good.I believe Diggs said he did practice again today. So yeah, I believe he is going.
All right, so I like the Detroit Lions.I loved what Xavier McKinney said, though.I love what he said.If we have that clip, can we please run that?Ooh, we got to find it.
Never mind, it was Xavier McKinney basically said, feels like Detroit Lions like to embarrass people.None of us want that to happen. He chit-chatted about the mindset going in this game. Both teams know that this is a massive one. This is a huge one.
And it's the first time in a long time, both these teams probably have Super Bowl dreams, aspirations, and realities, potentially. So I love it.It's good for the sport, but I would take the Lions traveling in the Lambo. I'm sorry, Ty.
I get it.I get it.Lines are very good.I do think this is going to be a high-scoring game, and I think it's going to be very close.I don't know if the Packers are going to win necessarily, but I do believe they are going to cover.
But I can see, I mean, it definitely makes sense why you would go with the Lions as well.
It's going to be a close one, AJ.It's going to be close.I think it's going to be a real battle. This is fun. This is what you lift off of.
So the forecast is saying rain for the entire game. And this is the Lions' first game outdoors. So just a little tidbit there.
I'll take the Packers.Obviously, no J-Mo either.
You don't know if it's going to rain.I'll take the Packers. It says 100% rain on Sunday at 4 o'clock.
Unless DiNardo says it.I don't believe it.But give me the Packers at home. Why not?We flip the clocks back Saturday, I believe, too. It's going to be dark early in this one. That's going to be a beautiful setting in Lambeau Field.Ty, you okay?
No, that's not good when you've got a dude for any of us.It's going to fuck up her schedule like you would not believe.
Pat, if your daughter's been waking up at 630, guess what time she's waking up Sunday? That'd be 530.
Oh, Mackenzie knows.Mackenzie knows. She will have a nice talk the night before.Say, hey, congratulations. You get an extra hour down there. You get an extra hour down there. She was all jacked up last night, man.Halloween is great for them.
It was cool, man.Did you guys, obviously, Tone, I saw you, I saw, you guys went out trick-or-treating?
Yeah, we were out and about. We did it.We were out till eight. We did it.Nice.Yeah.
We were at Sam's mom's house. It was, that neighborhood was packed. It looked like back in the day.
We're talking like front yard, people had drinks out, music playing, houses, very decorated, packed.Sweet. packed. They had a competition for who had the best decorated house, I think.Everything like that.I mean, it was awesome. It felt alive.
It really did.It was really cool.It was really cool last night to see her all dressed up.How about you, Ty?Did you guys get the newborns tough, I guess?
No, no, we took her out in the stroller and she just slept while my other daughter went and went house to house. But yeah, same deal.People in their driveways with like fires, drinking and everything, bunch of kids out.
And we got lucky, the weather was awesome.Last year on Halloween, it was so fucking cold.It was like, you know, one house, two house. All right, let's get the hell out of here.Let's go home. But no, it was, it was a lot of fun.And I hate Halloween.
I'm not a Halloween guy, but when you have kids, like it's, it's the best.
Yeah, me too.Did you hear that?Me too.
He's a burro.I'm not a big Halloween guy myself, either, to be fair.
I mean, I love dressing up for the show and doing it for the show, but I've never really been like, hey, there's a Halloween party tonight.I gotta go to Spirit Halloween and spend two fucking hours there and get some shitty costumes.
Two hours? That's not Halloween. Halloween's four minutes in the store, first thing you see.
Not when you put it off and you go and everything is picked over like you wouldn't believe and it's like, oh, do I want to be a horny cop whose dick's got to hang out?The options that I've had for the last several years haven't been great.
brother.Buy in.How was it in Ohio? How was it in Ohio, AJ?Was it good?
It was beautiful.Yeah, it was like we had like Halloween weather.I don't know what it was like.It was like 20 mile an hour wind swirling. It was dark.If it was a little bit colder, it would have been fine with me.
But yeah, my kids were sweating bullets because they were. you know, sprinting into house to house.
So we had rain, we had rain in the day.It was supposed to rain at night during the trick-or-treating hours. It stopped completely for the hours. So it was a little bit of a damper on the ground.Leaves had turned. The weather was like 60, 65.
It felt like a movie scene for trick-or-treating.I know where I was walking.I'm talking to kids multiple times.Look at this.Like we don't normally get this. This is awesome. This is good stuff.
It was pretty, and watching my mom and dad see Mackenzie all dressed up was cool. That was like a cool moment. Her understanding what's going on too, kinda, not like fully, but her taking candy and putting it into a bag, it's awesome, man.
It's awesome, so happy Halloween. What was your favorite candy?Happy Halloween. She wasn't able to eat any of those candies. We're not doing that whole thing yet.She had a full apple though.
There was a picture posted by my wife of me and Mackenzie eating an apple together. That was her first full apple that she was just handling. That was like 25-30 minutes of time. It was, I had to crack it open for her though.
You know, I had to crack open so she could get in.She couldn't break through, didn't fully comprehend the breaking through. But then as I'm holding her, she's holding that apple and she like shoves it into my mouth. And then like, she bites it.
And then I, it was like, this is so, I felt like on top of the world. It was like, She really likes me, I think.I think she really loves me.
Like, this is, uh... Every time she, like, lights up, runs to me, gets, like, it's... I mean, it's every time I see her, but it is so cool.Happy Halloween, everybody.
Happy Halloween.Happy Halloween, everybody.
All right, let's pick these games, shall we?
We have Ram Seahawks. That's our next one.Yep.Ram Seahawks. The Rams are one-point favorites on the road in Seattle, Pat.
uh... there is a who's house up there and uh... in seattle and and i think there's gonna be a portion of things are gonna say I don't know what's going on with Seattle.I didn't like that about Buffalo Bills.
Now the Bills Mafia obviously is a very passionate group and they got fans everywhere and I assume the Rams on the West Coast are the same thing. So is Seattle still the same home place? And this is me legitimately asking. This is not me saying this.
It's like, does that matter anymore as much?Give me the Rams with all their weapons. Now Pukunuku had a knee at practice, but they're saying he's okay, right?
Yeah, they said he banged it off the ground, but nothing serious. He's questionable for Sunday, so we don't know if he's going to suck.Yeah, he banged it.It's not like anything's dropped for him.
Might be doing the same thing as last week, where, hey, we don't know if Pook is playing. You never know.He might probably play half the snaps.Boom.First drive, eight catches, 100 yards.
Limited reps, limited reps.A small package, not him, but offensively.Yep.
Give me the rims.I got the rims as well.I thought you have them too, right, Matt?Boom.
Yep.Boom.And then this one's obvious.We know.
I mean, this is a tough one. It's going to blow before the game. They're going to do their school chant.Kevin O'Connell is going to look so cool.So so cool.Brian Flores is going to have such incredible game plan.
Justin Jefferson's grill is going to look amazing. The hit man Harrison Smith's disguise is going to be phenomenal. But look at. Joey Flack's coming to town.Colts plus five and a half.I have never seen a layup like this.
It's almost like they brought the hoop down to four feet. That's the layup. Not even at 10 feet.Don't even have to jump up.This is an easy one.
With all the adversity and drama and storylines this week, this Colts team had to hear from a lot of media people about why are they trying to win this year? What do they think they are? What's the point? This team thinks they're good?
There's a lot of that by a lot of people who are trying to say that a decision shouldn't be made to try to win games right now with this particular team, with the amount of money that this team has been paid, with the amount of years that some of these players at pillar positions have played, with the opportunity in front of us in the AFC South.
There's been a lot of talk about how cropped this team is, and how they just need to, hey, this is just building.Three, four years you build, it's like, what?Have you seen the team?Team's good.Joey Flack's ready.Plus five and a half, I like it.
And remember, the Colts, last time I believe they played in the Minnesota Vikings stadium, got a very big lead.Very big lead.Huge.And I assume that's gonna continue, AJ Hall.
Give me the Vikings at home, minus five and a half.I love what the Colts are doing.I will never root against Joe Flacco, or I'm not rooting against the Colts, but I feel like the Vikings.Yeah, he's just making picks, brother.
He's making picks.Hawk is back for the first time.Yeah.Who?Hawk.TJ Hawkinson's back for the first time.
Yes, that's a good sign.Good sign for the Vikes.
Aaron Jones has also been phenomenal all year.
Yeah, he's awesome.He's awesome.
Colts can stop the run, though.Colts can stop the run.Colts best team against the spread in the NFL.
Thank you, Gumpy.Everybody thinks we're bad, we're not.Just like the books, that's why we're undefeated against Spread, ain't that right?
Okay, yeah, that's why we're almost undefeated against Spread.Hey, you know what is undefeated?
What's that? What?Sitting at home going, wow, I wish I had, insert anything, insert anything.I wish I had, boom, product, boom, food, boom, drink. You know who has your back if you're in that moment ever?Bang, DoorDash.
Now, it's very breezy right now, okay?I might door dash an umbrella to block that thing a little bit.Sure.
You know, it's gonna have to be an extra durable one, so maybe I'll door dash target on DoorDash and make that thing to get delivered in 20 minutes. It is phenomenal what this app is and has become over the years, and we're incredibly grateful for it.
You can get pizza out on there too. You can get pizza hut on DoorDash. You can get anything on DoorDash legitimately.Shout out to DoorDash being your tag team partner for anything you need, AJ.
Change the world.I've been saying that since day one, man.DoorDash changed my life.No question about it.
Another company that we love, and I just got this information for the first time in a long time, SeatGeek obviously, sponsor of the ticker down there, our first partner after I retired, love everything they do.SeatGeek is phenomenal.
They're the greatest ticket buying platform on planet Earth and the moon! Anything you need to anything SeatGeek has your back. And they also have like a scale on whether or not it's a good ticket at a good price or not. They're looking out for you.
Don't need to sell a ticket. They're saying if it's a red dot, low score, you can go find this ticket somewhere else.A better ticket somewhere else at a better price. If it's a green dot, that means a good ticket, good price. Our AI scanned it.
You're in a good spot. You're gonna want to pull it.Never get catfished.Shout out to SeatGeek for being so fantastic.I think there's a new... Hey, Bruce, what's the new PAT 2024, I think?
Yes, Pat, 2024 for $30 off.Any purchase restrictions?
You're alive, but are you, you are, I think it's, the restrictions are if it costs less than 30 bucks, but you're alive, but are you living?Go live and experience something live with our friends at Seeking.Pat, 2024 promo code for $30 off.
They got tickets, everything.Speaking of tickets, the average price per ticket, this was as of yesterday, so it might've gone up for this particular game here. $366.The hottest Penn State home game SeatGeek has ever seen, topping a 2018 visit from Ohio State and a 2021 visit from Auburn.
There's going to be some Ohio State obviously that always happens, but 30% of buyers for the game are in Pennsylvania, 16% are from Ohio. Okay, that's in the secondary market, let alone the season ticket holders that are hanging on to their tickets.
That's obviously why it's not a hundo percent there. But that is the highest average ticket price that they've ever had.And it's because we got our fourth top five matchup of the season, baby. This is a massive game here.
Ohio State already has one loss, so you know, depending upon how this whole thing shakes up, you could have two losses in the Big Ten, maybe even three losses in the Big Ten and make it into the college football playoff.
But this is a pivotal and a vital one for long-term consequences for both these teams. And the ticket prices say this place is going to be packed out, 111,000 people, averaging $388.You do the math.Congrats to Penn State and Pat Kraft.
A.J.Hawk.Noon game too.Honestly, I understand the whiteout situation.Everyone wants to have that. The atmosphere is great at night, but I think it's great that we get to watch the game early in the morning.
I love when it's like I don't have to wait around forever for these big games. So I think it's great. It'll kick off the rest of the football day and get us kind of going in the right direction.
goal if it's your team definitely like if it's your team let's let's go ahead and get this thing rolling here so we can get going we don't have to sit here and wait and watch every other outcome to this primetime games you know there's bigger consequences on the line sometimes because the shit that happened earlier
in the game.So like the pressure and the build-up even gets greater as the day rolls on with other outcomes from around the country. So noon game, you get it out of the way, let's go ahead and knock it out.
Then you get to have a night afterwards of just enjoying ball, seeing what everybody else does.Players like it.I think fans, ex-player fans like it.I think these Penn State fans are like shoot pissed. They're selling shirts and everything.
They're selling shirts here.Like, noon games stink. It's like their tradition, they feel like, is getting robbed, you know? That's kind of how they feel. But they're gonna show up.They're gonna show up.They're already camping out.
And it should be a good one.All right, boys.Great week out of all of you.
Great week.Fun week.Fun week, for sure. A fun week, for sure. For sure a fun week.I would like to say good luck to the boys' Plum Soccer team.
They're in the Whippeal Championship tonight against Fox Chapel at Highmark Stadium, which is the Pittsburgh Riverhounds stadium down there on the river. And I'd like to let the Plum Soccer boys know, hey, you don't lose to Fox Chapel.OK?
We don't do that.We don't. I live in a Foxchapel-like neighborhood now.I'm softer naturally, okay?I'm softer.You don't lose to Foxchapel, okay?Let's get out there and get a win.You guys are prepared.
Congrats to the Foxchapel Foxes for getting to the Whippeal Championship. That is certainly an impressive thing. We're very, very proud of any Western Pennsylvania athletes doing anything sweet, and you're certainly not the case.
Plum, we don't lose this game. This ain't a game.We win the Whippeal Championship tonight at Highmark Stadium on the river, and we remind the world. that this is how shit works around here.Good luck to them.
I am so incredibly proud of our soccer teams at Plum High School. The ladies soccer team played last night. They ended up losing, but it was for like a trip to States and a Whip Peel play.It was massive game.
And then tonight the boys play the Whip Peel Championship. So, I mean, we're in a good spot over there in Plum. And also, if you're here in State College and you're a barber, I do need a, I need a, so I need a little bit of a, A whole thingy.
You know, a whole thingy.Whole thingy.I'm sure a couple people will reach out.
I bet you the team's got one.
Yeah, but... Yeah.Ooh, I didn't even think about the team.Keegan-Michael Keeney.Get his barber.
He's bald.He's bald, yeah.
No, that team, definitely.Definitely.
Okay, so never mind.Don't need a barber.Just going to try to find the team's barber. That's right. That's what I need before tomorrow. It should be electrifying.Let's have a great weekend, boys.
Let's enjoy the hell out of this.
Here we go.Let's go, boys.Gumpsh, gumpsh, gumpsh.Gumpsh, gumpsh, gumpsh.Gumpsh.You should see how Penn State-ed he is.We want that bookstore. We're at roughshod.
It's weird because he normally hates it.
Can't hear anything, so go Penn State.
I know how much you love the Buckeyes.
Ben Franklin's gonna blow him out.Connor said Ohio State's gonna blow him out, for the record. And that's because it's a turkey burger, I think.
That definitely has something to do with it, but, I mean, Penn State loses the games.
Wait, we can't go out on that.Ask me another fucking question.Do you think Ohio State wins these games?Oh yeah.Against Penn State?Oh yeah.
Okay. All right. We'll see.Call me.We'll see.Have a great weekend. It's going to be a good one.Taylor Swift is in Indianapolis.Congrats, Indy, getting Taylor Swift's last three shows in the United States of America.Captivated the whole city.
Congrats to her being bigger than a Super Bowl. That's what they said. They said this is like two Super Bowls coming to town. The airport was shut down for it.Downtown shut down for it.Lucas Oil shut down for it.
The hotels, the convention center is shut down for it.Taylor, You're an absolute beast.Congratulations.Cannot wait to watch you work.Legit.She's a beast, dude.Absolutely.
Jason Kelsey will be trying to kick a field goal tomorrow on college game day at Tim's to raise some money.Yes.We got a lot of shit popping off, man.Let's enjoy the hell out of all of it.Be a friend.Tell a friend something nice.
It might change their life. Thanks for traveling out to ND, AJ.You're the man.
Oh, yeah.Love it.Love being here and seeing the boys.Gump, you and Gump have a great time tonight.
He said, you have a great time tonight.
Team on me.Team on three. One, two, three.
