I know they really got people to buy a lot of khakis.

More a blast from the past.I was taking my sixth grader, Ava, to school with her friend Quinn, and they were like, we want to hear T-Boz.We want to hear T-Boz rapping because they're all into like Eminem and Aaliyah.And then yesterday, T-Boz.
And I was like, OK, let's play Waterfalls because that's from my sixth grade year.And like we can connect that way.And they're like, Waterfalls?That's TLC.And I'm like, T-Boz?Left Eye?Chili? T-L-C?Wait, they didn't know that T-Boz was in TLC?
I feel like they think of T-Boz as, well, they did.These girls thought of T-Boz as like a separate entity until I was like, TLC? Because there's a bunch of stuff going around on their TikTok, not on mine.My TikTok is all one pot cooking.
But about kind of T-Boz's death and how it was untimely, it was too early.Because there's a lot of talk about Tupac and Tupac dying too early now because the kids have been learning via the P. Diddy headlines about Tupac.Yes, yes, yes.
Yeah, so they were like, oh, TLC, T-Boz, Left Eye, Chili.And I'm like, yes.Yes, they were all together when T-Boz was killed in like the ATV accident or whatever.Yes.Yes.
So we all enjoyed some classics from my youth, like Waterfalls and No Scrubs, driving to school.Yeah, some oldies.Good times.Soon I'm going to play that swing dancing music from the Gap commercial and see if I can't make that a thing. Bring it back.
The 90s are big right now among the youth.We should do our caveat because I realize we haven't done that yet.

Hey, Dory and Elise.I don't have much to say except that I too was living in Fort Greene during the Keri Russell New Motherhood era.I'm so excited to hear that you were there too, Dory, and that we overlapped.
I was also babysitting and interning at the time. thinking like, why am I not Carrie Russell's babysitter?It was so thrilling to see her at the little playground in Fort Greene Park and just walking around the streets.
It was just like a highlight of the day.And then my friend actually lived across from where she moved in Burham Hill, and we used to try to spy on her through the window.We had like a couple sightings, which was very exciting.
Anyways, yeah, I just wanted to share that I, too, was thrilled by that era, and what a great time to live in Fort Greene.All right, take care.

Yes, a major news organization where she couldn't be partisan.And so she had some ideas like, maybe a Kamala tattoo that wasn't showing or some like brat green nails.A few of y'all wrote in.
One is via email and it reads, heard that question on the pod and thought of this email my aunt just sent me.She's a jewelry maker in Marin County and she's making these two styles of Kamala necklaces.So that's Kamala like the punctuation.
If a person isn't told what it is called, most people wouldn't realize.Super subtle.And then she linked us to two different kinds of Kamala custom jewelry, sterling silver and bronze on black.

Man, he's growing up so fast.Can I just say, he came home, he was 12 pounds.It's been two weeks, now he's 20. And so I've been taking a weekly selfie with him in the mirror.
And this week when I took the weekly selfie at 10 weeks, I could barely one arm him anymore because I have to hold up my camera with the other arm and then he's moving and wriggling.Wow.He's getting so big so fast.And his snout is kind of elongating.
It's getting longer.It's not like smashed into his face as it was when he was a puppy.So he's a golden retriever.
So cute.They grow up so fast.They grow up so fast.Okay, back to the email or text.My biggest puppy tip is to find an in-person trainer you like and attend puppy classes for the first year.
This really helped with staying consistent with training and having someone who is not me notice the progress the puppy was making.
I also found a puppy training Reddit thread that had the two-to-one training tip, which was a godsend for those first six to eight months.
Basically, for every hour your puppy is out exploring the world, aka creating havoc, they have two hours of rest in their crate, puppy pen, safe puppy area.
You repeat that throughout the day and it was a godsend and take lots of pictures because puppies are a scam and are small for four to six days.
Oh, I know I'm living it.
I'm living this scam.I've been scammed.You've been scammed.You're like, oh, I got this cute little stuffed animal.Oh no.Okay.
Now he's just a velociraptor.
Yeah.Also, I recommend just a basic flour sack towel for a kitchen towel.They really get the job done and are very affordable.You can find them at Target or Walmart pretty much any time.
And once they start looking a bit sad, I retire them to cleaning rags to extend their lifespan.
And lastly, maybe last year, someone recommended going through photos on a regular basis, searching for a specific date, and deleting repeats or screenshots or memes you no longer need.
This had been so helpful for me because I've been able to go through years at a time, one day at a time, and have better decision-making about what to keep and what to delete.
It's a great plain activity and a sweet way to relive memories, especially of my boys, of when my boys were little.They are now eight and six and also like to see memories from when they were little. Thanks for the pod.Love what you do.

just go back to every year of that day's date, and that's how you would go day by day.
Oh, and then it doesn't feel like such a massive task.
Yeah, exactly.I've always been like, yes, what a great idea, and then... Have I done it?
No.Yeah, I learned one tip, too, because I was also sort of vexed by this and just the digital detritus that piles up, especially because you take so many.It's like, well, I'm not going to run out of space.But one tip that I got was to favorite.
After you take like a batch of photos, just go through and favorite the ones that you like the most.And that way your favorites folder is already kind of edited down and it's more manageable.
So favoriting as you go along is another good tip in that photo organization realm.

They have two different styles, one that is thinner, flour sack, and one that is thicker and more textured, utility.I find they both are great to have and have different uses.
Food52 will often have a sale and it can be a good time to stock up on these. Also for wiping down counters and cleaning up messes.
We have replaced paper towels with these bamboo little rags which are amazing and have also held up extremely well over many years.They are very affordable and wash slash dry so nicely.
I have a little plastic bucket that I throw the rags and towels in when they are dirty and then I wash them all together once a week so that I end up always having clean ones.Hope this helps. It does help.

Hey, Julie and Elise.Comments and questions around Costco clothes.So I know you guys have talked about Costco quite a bit, but I'm starting to wonder if their clothes are starting to have more of a moment, or maybe I'm just getting there.
I think, like I've known, I've always thought they had good leggings, like more bath leisure.Sure.But, you know, socks, all that. But recently, I've been going there more frequently, and I started every time looking at their clothes.
I got a pair of pants recently that I wore to work, and I really liked them, and I think they were actually pretty stylish, and I think they were like 15 bucks.
And then I had a moment, because there's a ton of shirt jackets right now, which I didn't know what a shirt jacket was, so I decided to buy one.I'll text you guys the link, but it's like a green and white kind of plaid.
And I was wearing it to walk to pick my kids up from school.And I saw another woman wearing the same thing.And we both kind of, I was like, hey, I like your, you know, I like your jacket.She's like Costco.And I said, yes.
I mean, we had a bit of a moment.We did a high five.We both realized we were in Costco pants too.Anyway, I was just thinking about it.I think there's something there because I know, like I know I don't have to try it on there, which is nice.
I know I'm going to be coming back. in a couple weeks, a month.If I don't like it, easy to return.There's just not that many choices.That makes it really simple.So I was just thinking about it.

Yeah.I would say so, too, as a Chinese-American. I feel as though the Asians have been shopping at Costco for clothes for a long time, since I was a child.That's funny.I am super into their winter stuff, like gloves and ski bibs and things.Yes.
Anytime it's ski season and we need the under type clothing.What is it called? It's not thermal underwear anymore, but whatever.The layers.Costco is really great for all of that stuff.
Then last year, there were good pullovers, zip-up pullovers that were great, that were also good for layering in the winter.
I recently got a zip up, like it's not exactly a sweatshirt.It's sort of like those Lululemon jackets.And I got it at Costco.And then I was looking up the brand and I was like, they didn't have the exact one that they had at Costco.
But the stuff from the brand's website was basically the same price as all the stuff at Costco.So I was like, this is interesting.
It wasn't like a deal.So Costco didn't really, yeah, offer a deal.I felt that way about, yeah, they had like clothes from Columbia, you know, for rain gear and things.
And it doesn't seem that much cheaper, but it is so convenient to get your clothes at Costco because you're already there.

Yes.And I also was like, I wonder if this was like a Costco exclusive.Cause like I said, I didn't see it on their website.Got it.So maybe that was like a thing.
We talked about that New York Times article that showed that they did a deep dive on Costco and how it's become such a successful business all around the world.There was some stat in there that blew my mind.
There were lots of stats that blew my mind, but there was one, and we'll have to include this link also in our show notes.
It was something like two-thirds or more of all the cashews in the world, all the cashews grown in the world, are purchased by Costco.
Yeah. Yeah.We will take this out if it's factually incorrect, but I remember reading that and just being like, whoa.Because it's not just like the snack nuts.
It's also the cashew clusters and all kinds of other mixes that are available in Costco nut snacks.

I have one pumpkin thing to add, because we've been talking about the pumpkin things that are available really only this season. I tried out the pumpkin spiced teeny tiny pretzels and they are delicious.
They're teeny tiny pretzels that are coated and then there's some sort of pumpkin spice stuff on it and they're salty.They're like slightly salty and sweet. There's a little kick because of the spice.Teeny tiny pumpkin pretzels.That's fun.
It was one of those end cap things as you're pushing your cart around and they have a special display.And then I just like, yeah, well, why not?
