Hello, podcast fam.Can you believe it?We are not walking and talking.I am laying on the couch next to my dog, Max.He might bark in the background. So if that happens, we may have to pause it.You might get a little too loud.
If not, we're going to keep some barks in this audio. You know that we don't like to edit podcast episodes here.So we will see where today takes us.
But today's topic is a conversation that I've had literally like five times today with different clients and different offers. And I was like, okay, I always come back to, if I repeat myself, I record myself. And I was like, you know what?
Let's hash this out on the podcast because I know if this is really serving my clients, this is going to serve you as well. in business.Yes, we want to have the content, the marketing, and the messaging. We want to have all of that strategy.
There's also this unspoken strategy that we need to have in order to become somebody that trailblazes the industry, somebody that makes money all of the time, somebody that makes sales all of the time. somebody that people are just magnetized to.
You can literally drop an offer and people join right away. And yes, the strategy creates that, the marketing, the messaging, the content, but there's also this hidden strategy that creates that, and that is you. You are also a hidden strategy.
And what I mean when I say this is so many of you, if I go to your social media, I don't even know who you are.And what I'm noticing is a lot of you are creating for the algorithm versus creating for your dream clients.
And you're getting really frustrated that you're not signing as many clients as you want. You're like, yeah, I get five to 10 people in my offers, but I want 30 to 50 plus people in my offers, right?I want people flooding into my DMs.
I wanna be able to drop an offer and people buy instantaneously. And the reason that there's something off there, even though you're like, I've refined my messaging, I'm speaking to my dream client, I don't need to work on that anymore.
It's because we're lacking the you behind the brand. And it's not just personal branding that I'm talking about here, but you are a personal brand. But what I'm really talking about here is your personality. We're missing your personality.
So many of you are just like, bah, on social media. It's like this bland version of you where it's almost like there's like a film of like, there's you, a filmed wall, and then social media.
And so we're missing like the authenticity of who you actually are inside of your brand. And so today I wanna talk about some ways that you could bring this to life even more in your brand.
What a lot of you get caught up in is doing it how somebody else does it.And honestly, we're being taught that.
There's so many Instagram gurus out there right now that are literally telling you to go to other people's videos, go to other people who have done viral videos, and then mimic it.Literally create it for yourself and try and go viral.
And sure, you could do that, but what's happening is you're losing so much of your personality. You're losing so much of you, which when you lose that over time, you're not gonna call in the right people.
You're not gonna call in the dreamiest of dream clients. And it's gonna be harder to do business that way.And so I want you to think about how you're producing content right now.
And I don't mean in the lens of problem aware and solution aware, like I don't mean from that lens.I want you to think about how you're producing content right now and is there anything about how you're producing it that you would change?
And I want to give you a prime example of this, because this is also a conversation I'm having with my own mentor of like B-roll reels for me. And I recently, I don't think I told you guys this.I don't know if I did.
I recently hired my husband in my business to do video recording for me.And it's been so fun.I love having him a part of the business. And it honestly gives me so much video for B-Roll Reels, which I love to have.
What I noticed when I hired him and I brought him on was I automatically felt like I needed to create these curated B-roll videos, which are just not me at all.He was even saying, as he's filming, he's like, Michelle, you're so awkward.
Why are you being so weird? You could tell your body language is off, even though you're doing something normal.Your aura is off. And as he said that, I reflected on that more. And I said to him, I said, you know why?
Because while everything you're filming, I do in my real life. I don't want... That just doesn't feel like the most vibrant, real version of me.
Sure, I could post videos of me sitting at a coffee shop drinking coffee, and not to say I never will post those videos again. That's probably not true.I probably will. But the real me is who I am behind the scenes 24-7 is I'm dancing around my house.
Every room has an Alexa.I have to whisper her name because she's behind me and she's going to go off. Like, every room has one.I always tell her.She puts on my favorite songs.I'm dancing around the house.I dance when I work out.
I dance when I get ready.Like, that is like a big part of who I am.And I have this realization of that needs to be a bigger part of the brand because that's my personality. That's a part of who I am.And so that needs to be a big part of the brand.
There's this other side where I'm also very chill, like chill sales has been a big part of the brand.
And I often get reflected from like some of my besties, clients of like, one of the main reasons people hire me is because I make things very chill, simple, cohesive. It's not complicated.
And so I've been thinking and sitting behind the scenes, how can I Bring that to life even more in the business from a visual standpoint of who I am behind the scenes.
And so I wanted to give you those tangible examples from my own business, from myself, for you to think about this for yourself.I want you to think about the content you're creating, what you're producing, what you're filming. Is it even actually you?
Is it even actually parts of your personality that you want to share online? I wanna break down the film, I wanna break down the wall, and I want to see more of you.
I'm not telling you to go, don't go full left and go personal brand and be an influencer.
That's not what I'm saying, but when it comes to your feed and the content that you're putting out, wherever you're posting, TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, et cetera, podcasts, we want to get to know the human behind the brand.
And you can do that really easily from a visual standpoint and from an audible standpoint.Where are you holding back?Where are you not being all of yourself?
And sometimes it sounds almost too simple and people kind of roll their eyes at it of, I'll just be more of yourself. But the truth is, if you honestly were more of yourself online, wherever you're marketing, you would be making more sales. You would.
But a lot of you right now are like so worried about keeping up appearances and looking professional and being an authority and like all of that, yeah, is important.
But if it's not, if you're not doing it in a way that's true to you, there's going to be a disconnect. It's a subconscious feeling that your dream clients can feel. They can't put a finger on it.
They can't understand and feel why something feels off or why they're potentially not hiring you yet.But that's what's creating that barrier.
And you're making it harder for people to buy from you by creating this film, by putting up this wall, by not being yourself, by not being authentic, by not creating in your zone of genius.
Another example in my own business is I do want to do more face-to-camera videos for my Instagram, and we may then repurpose them again on TikTok.Remains to be seen what I want to do with that.
But I have this beautiful pink couch in my office, and so I have an idea of how I want to bring those to life. The thing about that is the videos I'm going to be bringing to life, they're so Michelle-coded.
And them being so Michelle-coded is that somebody tries to mimic them. which they can, people are then gonna think of me.Or the moment that they see a video of mine, they're like, no, it's me.And there's a certain feeling behind that.
That's what I want to invite you to create for you and your brand, where it's so you coded. It is so you, there's personality, I know you.It comes down to the basics of marketing, of know, like, and trust.
If I don't know you, I can't like you, and I can't trust you, therefore I'm not gonna give you my money. Right? And so I want to invite you to break down that wall. Another example, a great example is this podcast.
You guys know I'm so real deal behind the scenes here.Like we don't even edit the podcast.Like I'm walking on the treadmill 99% of the time recording, just out of breath, like literally just like shooting the shit with you.
And it's so real that you get to, there's no film here. You get to really know me and you can love me for it or you can hate me for it.And that, when you show up like that in your business,
you will have people that are just like, they cannot wait to pay you. They are like, just take my money. And this on another side of this, like this also comes down to like filters.Like some of you could do with using less filters.
Some of you could do with like showing more of who you actually are.If you're not somebody that puts on makeup every day, why are you only filming stories when you look put together? Can we get rid of that? Can we show a little bit of your human side?
These parts of you, we want to see. I want to invite you to bring them to life because you're going to notice a huge shift when you do this.I'm going to leave this here.
I cannot wait to see you be more you, bring out more personality, have fun with this. You already know I love you, and I will see you in the next episode. And never forget, everything gets to sell everything.
