Friends and family, hoy es Domingo.Today is Sunday, November the 10th, 2024.We're reading from the Old Testament, Jeremiah chapter 29.The Lord has allowed us to entitle this particular episode, God's Plan.Glory, hallelujah.
Thank you, Father God, for your word this morning. You, indeed, are an awesome God. Grace and peace, my brothers and sisters. My name is RJ and I welcome you to another episode of God is faithful and just with all things being relational.
Family, good morning to you.Where in the world are you?Happy Sunday to you. It's a fantabulous Sunday morning. It's a great opportunity to be in the house of the Lord. I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord.
We can praise him.We can lift them up.We can exalt him.We can get renewed in our mind and our spirit. We can rejoice when a man, when a woman, when a child enters in to the kingdom of light, removed from the kingdom of darkness for eternity.
It's a new day family. It's a new opportunity to see and receive God's mercies. His joy is our strength. So we're thankful. And I thank you, family.
Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to share this Sunday with you, this Sunday morning, being in God's Word, whether it's morning, afternoon, or evening, whatever the time of the day that you are tuning in.Thank you. It's an honor.
It's a privilege.Indeed, I do not consider it lightly. I'm loving this word that we are in family.I believe that God is so good at a time and a season that we are going through here in the West.
I believe that these new, these Old Testament stories and depiction of what God has done then in relation to what he's doing now is certainly apropos for where we're at now.Or is it pronounced apropos? right?New words. That's me, my darling grace.
Know how I am with words. But it's an honor.Indeed it is.God is, he's given us all we need to sustain and walk this life in godliness and
We are equipped, yet we know that we are to look and turn to him each and every day, each and every morning, each and every afternoon, all throughout the day.He is the source. We must stay plugged in, right?Attached to the vine is what Jesus said.
It's the way he said it.So we must do that.Although we have all that we need, we cannot detach from that vine.He will not pluck us out.So we should not remove ourselves. Stay connected, family.
So again, as we go through these words, now in Jeremiah, yesterday we spoke about wait on God, knowing that regardless of what's happening, when it's happening, where it's happening, let's not go out on our own, but let's continue to wait on the Lord.
Yes, we are well equipped to do what we ought to do, but we are still
under instructions as to when to use the word that He's given us, the voice that He's given us, the platform that He's given us, the word of encouragement for someone, whether it's our finances, whatever resources that we have to use for whatever way that we have to use them.
Allow the Lord to lead you and guide you because what you do is important, but how and when you do it is just as important.
So Father God, as we go into your word this morning, we are leaning into you, Lord God, each and every day, as you have been showing us various different leaders, their characters, their personalities.
You've been showing us the uprising and the down setting of Judah, Jerusalem, the tribes, the 10 tribes, the two tribes, all 12 tribes.Lord God, you have been showing us So much, and our plate is completely full.
But you've given us all of these insights, Lord Father God.You've given us a deeper connection with you for reason.
Not for us just to be hearers of what you're saying or what you have said and what you've done and what you are doing, but for us to also be doers. So we look forward, Lord God, as we receive from you this day,
to do all that you've called and created us to be and do, so that you, Father God, in the mighty and majestic name of your Son, Jesus, will be glorified. We bless you today, and it's in that name, Jesus, that we pray.Thank you, Father God.
So family, as we go into this word again, I say to you, allow the Lord our God to lead and guide you, the Holy Spirit to direct you and what revelation you receive from this day, our daily bread.
Because indeed, what he gives me, I believe, is merely a supplement of what he has for you.So let's go into this word on this morning.Jeremiah chapter 29, God's plan from the New Living Translation. A letter to the exiles.
Jeremiah wrote a letter from Jerusalem to the elders, priests, prophets, and all the people who had been exiled to Babylon by King Nebuchadnezzar.
This was after King Jehoiachin, the Queen Mother, the court officials, and other officials of Judah, and all the craftsmen and artisans had been deported from Jerusalem. He sent the letter with Eleazar.
son of Shefan, and Jeremiah, son of Hilkiah, when they went to Babylon as King Zedekiah's ambassadors to Nebuchadnezzar. This is what Jeremiah's letter said.
This is what the Lord of Heaven's armies, the God of Israel, says to all the captives he has exiled to Babylon from Jerusalem.Build homes and plan to stay. Plant gardens and eat the food they produce.Marry and have children.
Then find spouses for them so that you may have many grandchildren.Multiply, do not dwindle away, and work for peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile.Pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare.
This is what the Lord of Heaven's armies, the God of Israel, says.Do not let your prophets and fortune tellers who are with you in the land of Babylon trick you.Do not listen to their dreams, because they are telling you lies in my name.
I have not sent them, says the Lord. This is what the Lord says. You will be in Babylon for 70 years, but then I will come and do for you all the good things I have promised, and I will bring you home again.
For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.
I will be found by you, says the Lord.I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes.I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again. to your own land.
You claim that the Lord has raised up prophets for you in Babylon, but this is what the Lord says about the king who sits on David's throne and all those living here in Jerusalem, your relatives who were not exiled to Babylon.
This is what the Lord of Heaven's army says, I will send war, famine, and disease upon them and make them like bad figs, too rotten to eat. Yes, I will pursue them with war, famine, and disease, and I will scatter them around the world.
In every nation where I send them, I will make them an object of damnation, horror, contempt, and mockery. For they refuse to listen to me, though I have spoken to them repeatedly through the prophets I sent.
And you are in exile, and you who are in exile have not listened either, says the Lord. Therefore, listen to this message from the Lord, all you captives there in Babylon.
This is what the Lord of Heaven's armies, the God of Israel, says about your prophets, Ahab, son of Goliath, and Zedekiah, son of Messiah, who are telling you lies in my name.I will turn them over to Nebuchadnezzar for execution before your eyes.
Their terrible fate will become proverbial so that The Judean exiles will curse someone by saying, May the Lord make you like Zedekiah and Ahab, whom the king of Babylon burned alive. For these men have done terrible things among my people.
They have committed adultery with their neighbors' wives and have lied in my name, saying things I did not command.I am a witness to this.I, the Lord, have spoken.A message for Sheremiah.
The Lord sent this message to Jeremiah, the Nehemiah in Babylon. This is what the Lord of Heaven's Armies, the God of Israel, says.
You wrote a letter on your own authority to Zephaniah, son of Maseah, the priest, and you sent copies to the other priests and people in Jerusalem.
You wrote to Zephaniah, the Lord has appointed you to replace Jehoradah as the priest in charge of the house of the Lord. You are responsible to put into stocks and necks, irons, any crazy man who claims to be a prophet.
So why have you done nothing to stop Jeremiah from Anathod, who pretends to be a prophet among you?Jeremiah sent a letter here to Babylon, predicting that our captivity will be a long one.
He said, build homes and plan to stay, plant gardens and eat the food they produce. But when Zephaniah the priest received Jeremiah's letter, he took it to Jeremiah and read it to him. Then the Lord gave this message to Jeremiah.
Send an open letter to all exiles in Babylon.Tell them, this is what the Lord says concerning Jeremiah the Lahirite.Since he has prophesied to you when I did not send him and has tricked you into believing his lies, I will punish him and his family.
None of his descendants will see the good things I will do for my people, for he has incited you to rebel against me.I, the Lord, have spoken. My Lord, my God, thank you for your word this morning, Father God.God's plan.
Friends, family, I do hope and believe that
this chapter, it's my prayer that what you've heard this morning is continuing to shape and mold and bring to a full circle, if you will, completion of the things that we've read and that we continue to read.
Sometimes you may have to read the chapter over again so that you remember what was going on yesterday or the day before.
and even in chapters before that we've read so that you will continue to keep all things together as we read through these verses but what I do want to explain because it would you know it be I would need a lot of time to continue to go over verse by verse or all parts of every chapter but the part that I do want to go over is Jeremiah
29 verse 11 and i said it that way for a reason because if you've been around for some time in this walk with jesus you have likely heard read sent or someone has sent you this verse is it not wonderful though to be able to now hear it in its context i mean it now comes alive and in your prayer
or sending it to someone else, you can apply it correctly and therefore expect your results from Abba to be favorable. In fact, let us read it again, knowing what we know about the surrounding message. This is what the Lord says.
You will be in Babylon for 70 years, but then I will come and do for you all the good things I have promised, and I will bring you home again. For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord.
There are plans for good and not for disaster to give you a future and a hope.In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.I will be found by you, says the Lord.
I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes.I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land. My Lord, my God.Now, how would you use this particular verse in a prayer?
Abba, Abba Father, hallelujah.I'm in a situation where it looks like there is no way out. My job is facing layoffs, and they say my department, my department is the first to go.
I didn't finish my schooling, so I do not have the degree I need to pursue the career of my youth.I'm not certain what to do, my Lord. The bills are due soon, and I'm already living from check to check.
My spouse needs my income, and I've also made a pledge to the church three months ago to support the mission team for the next 12 months.Lord God, I do not know what to do.
Yet, when the children of Israel were scattered about, when they were in exile for being disobedient, You told them, Lord God, you told them to hold on.You told them to work for the peace and prosperity of the city where you sent them into exile.
You said the city's welfare will determine their welfare. You said that they will be in Babylon for 70 years, but then you would come and do for them all the good things you have promised, and you would bring them home again.
You said, for I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. There are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. You said in those days, if they pray, you would hear them.Hallelujah.
Well, Abba, Father, if you did it for them, I know you can do it for me. I am your child, and no good thing will you hold back to those who walk upright before you.I won't lean on my own understanding, Father God.
I will acknowledge you in all my ways and allow you to direct my paths.Your plan, Father God, not mine.I expect it because you are God.And in the mighty and majestic name of Jesus, I pray. You be glorified today, Father God.
Family, that was just an example of how to use that prayer in its context. And we know that it's appropriate for someone out there. So be blessed on today. And those of you who have not called upon the name of Jesus as Lord, this is your hour.
Confess Jesus as Lord and Savior, and let us walk with you. Grace and peace be upon you, and we look forward to being with you here again on tomorrow. And in the meantime, family, be that blessing to those around you.Glory, hallelujah.
