Yet, as the Big Book points out, even in the 20th century, people readily accept theories about electricity—things they can’t see but believe because they see the effects.

“We see the effects produced by alcohol. Just for myself, you couldn’t have caught me four years ago standing in front of a room of people reading through something. I didn’t feel like I deserved it or was good enough. That’s an effect that God produces in my life—a hundred percent.”

Wayne shares his personal experience, highlighting the transformative effects that belief in a higher power has had on his life. This session encourages participants to recognize that just as we accept the unseen forces like electricity because of the visible effects, we can also trust the spiritual principles that guide us in recovery. The changes in our lives are the evidence of the power at work within us, guiding us toward a new way of living.
