Chris shares how he hasn't always been the Chris Robinson he is today. During his career he has had ups and downs and even 10 years ago when he started his journey with the John Maxwell team. He now has a fancy title but he admits that he is still an average every day guy who just consistently worked towards his dream.

In 2006 he had a thought that he wanted to be a professional speaker and it stemmed from participating in some courses he attended, some of which were John Maxwell's. After a while he was asked to facilitate the course and started taking training more seriously. During one of these events he heard that you could be paid to be a speaker and eventually that would change the course of his life.

Like many of us Chris got sidetracked and actually opened up a business with some partners which failed. He was left thinking "What next?" and decided the answer was to follow his dream of being a speaker. His friends thought he was crazy but he did it and even though it was a struggle it has been worth it because now Chris gets to live his life coaching, speaking and training full time.

Chris describes "Maximize Your Potential" as achieving what "YOU" want rather than what other people deem as success or guide us toward. In your core, what have you been gifted to do? Understand that and then follow it. The key is gaining clarity on what you truly what. Sometimes you get what you want but don't want what you got! When you attain these things there is a lack of fulfillment so the key is moving from success to significance.

One lesson Chris Shares is that it doesn't matter what your path to success looks like to other people. We have to let go of what should be our stepping stones instead of seeing it as our pinnacle.

12:00 - What would you say to the Teenage Chris Robinson? "I would do what my Mom told me and believe that I can do whatever I want?" Work on you, get clear on what you want, and then work toward achieving that. Get 3 things: Coaching, Knowledge, Experience.

Significance for Chris is getting to do the 10% of what he enjoyed in the corporate world 100% of the time. Coaching, consulting and helping other people. Seeing people live out servant leadership and a people first mentality.

Get a mentor. A mentor is someone who is further ahead of you on your path who has the results that you want with the knowledge that you need. There will be different mentors in each area: Health, fitness, development etc. Once you gain the knowledge it is paramount to intentionally apply it daily.

There are two ways that people will come out of the COVID-19 situation; they will either be "bitter" or they will be "better" and it is their creativity that will make the difference which excites Chris.

Do you want to be bitter or do you want to be better, the choice is yours!
