Hey, friends, welcome back to the Organized and Efficient Mama.I'm your host, Helena Manu, and I'm thrilled to have you here with me today. So today, this episode is going to challenge some of the common ideologies
that you might have been hearing about hiring support for your business. And it just might change the way you think about virtual assistants forever. So here's the thing. If you've been thinking about hiring a virtual assistant or a VA,
You've probably heard a lot of advice telling you to find someone who is niched down, someone who specializes in one or maybe two specific areas, such as social media management, Pinterest management, or even bookkeeping.
And don't get me wrong, that approach can work for certain businesses and needs. at certain times but today I'm going to explain why in many cases you actually don't need a VA who's so narrowly focused.
You actually might need a VA who was well-rounded, someone who has the ability and capacity to step into multiple roles and support you across various areas of your business and not just in any way but they're able to do it successfully.
And let me tell you, that makes all the difference in the world when you're trying to stay organized and productive, especially as a business owner. Now let's break that down for a moment.
If you're listening to this, I'm guessing you wear a lot of hats in your business.Maybe you are handling your own client relations, answering your emails, following up on leads, managing social media, and somehow
squeezing in time to actually work on the core of your business, whatever it is that you do or whatever product or service that you offer.Does that sound like you?
I know for a fact that it does because so many of us fall into this exact situation, wearing all these hats in our business.
The truth is, as business owners, especially those of us running a small business solo, we often get bogged down with the day-to-day tasks. They are important, yes, but they take up valuable time.
Time that could be better spent growing your business, creating new opportunities, or focusing on your client. And that's where a well-rounded virtual assistant could come in and provide amazing support for you. So here's why this matters.
When you hire someone who's niched down, like a VA who just manages social media for you, they're limited in the support that they can offer. You still have a ton of other responsibilities that fall on your shoulders.
Sure, they might take one piece of the puzzle off your plate, but what about everything else?In the grand scheme of things, what you may need is someone who could do a little bit of everything.
Someone who can manage your emails, organize your calendar, set up simple systems for you and your business, and also maybe handle customer service. When you hire a VA with a wide range of skills, they become a true partner in your business.
They can step in and support you in multiple areas. So you're not just outsourcing one task or one thing that needs to get done. You're actually freeing yourself up to focus on the things that truly need your attention in your business.
For example, in my business, HMV Solutions, I don't specialize in just doing one thing. So I'm currently not niched down.I actually offer a range of administrative services to support my client.
So whether that's email management, scheduling, appointments, completing data entry, or customer service follow-up, I handle it all. That's what makes me such a well-rounded VA, and it's what helps my clients succeed.
I actually have one client that I've been working with for almost three years and counting, so she was really struggling to manage her time.
She spent so much juggling her schedule, answering client inquiries, and following up on leads that she barely had any time left to actually complete the full follow through with sending next steps and documents to the warm leads that she had recently acquired.
So when she hired me, I was able to step in and take over all those administrative tasks.I was able to give her the time she needed to actually focus on her client. And guess what? She started closing more contracts.
She went from feeling overwhelmed to thriving in her business. And that's because she had someone in her corner who could handle all things admin on the back end.So let's take it back a little bit.
So let me talk about the different industries that I've worked with. because I think this really highlights why a well-rounded VA can be such a valuable asset to your business.
Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with clients in a wide range of industry.
So I've supported doulas, I've supported professional organizers, mental health professionals, and small business owners in the finance industry, and even some in the tech industry. What's interesting
is that no matter what industry that I've serviced, they all needed comprehensive administrative support. So that's something that I found was very universal to each and every one of these businesses that I've worked with.
For instance, I've worked with mental health professionals who needed someone to manage their client intake process and scheduling. things such as sending emails, verifying insurance, answering general questions about the practice.
I've also worked with professionals in the finance industry space who needed support in creating and editing presentations that were to be used for client meetings.
So both of these industries are very different, but the underlying needs were very similar. They both required someone to come into their business create systems that streamline their process and save them time.
Working with a well-rounded VA makes such a difference because of adaptability.Having worked across multiple industries, I can easily step into a new business and understand its unique needs.
So every industry does operate a little differently, but the common thread is the need for efficiency and organization. And that is where I shine. That is my bread and butter.
I can adapt to your specific business and offer tailored solutions to help improve your current workflow. So why do clients come to me?What sets me apart? It's not just that I'm well-rounded in terms of skills, although that is a big part.
It's also that I understand the big picture. When a client hires me, they're not just getting someone to handle the small, tedious tasks.
They're also getting someone who sees how all those tasks fit together and how it can create a system that works for the entire business.
I've had clients tell me that before they started working with me, they felt like they were constantly in reactive mode, always putting out fires and trying to keep up with their never-ending to-do list.
After working with me, they were able to actually shift into a proactive mode.Instead of just managing their tasks, they really were able to start planning ahead, making strategic decisions, and focusing on business growth.
Mama, if you're a small business owner who's tired of feeling overwhelmed, I encourage you to think about what a well-rounded VA could do for you.Imagine having someone who can manage your emails, keep your calendar organized,
follow up with your clients, and also take care of all the administrative tasks that have been constantly eating up your time.Imagine what you could accomplish with that kind of support.
